The New Update! - PLAYER-OWNED HOUSES!
Is ectoing not 400% of normal bone experience? It is, but its also very slow form what I hear. It's pretty easy to teleport from your house to bank + use your butler to bring your bones, so I think this will be the new way to level prayer. but I think that you need 75 construction to get the gilded altar. Given how much money this will cost buying your way to that level, I think that I'll stick to the ectofunctus.

best way to get 61-70 thieving? i hate pickpocketing!!
ok well I am only 64 thief, and I have got those levels just from pickpocketing. To answer your questions: 1) fastest way is to pickpocket knights in ardougne. Its about 80xp per pickpocket and 50gp each time. You can get free food from the cake stall. 2) coolest way is probably to steal from chest in tower Nw of Ardy. You get 500gp and 2 blood runes each time. Bloods sell for 600 each so thats a tidy profit. Also you get 250xp each time to thieve from it. you get tellied back to ardy once you steal so it's quite slow xp. 3) best money making way -see 2) I also spend a while getting gems from the safes in rogues den. It's 50xp each time + a lot of gems for crafting. You might find this too boring if you hate pickpocketing. By the way, if you hate this skill so much, why bother training it? It is by far my least liked skill as I find it so boring.

help!! where can i get the nature tailsmans ???
best bet is to go the abyss and kill some stuff in there for a bit - the monsters in there drop lots of talismans. Personally, I dont recommend any other monster for dropping a nature tally. I remember when I tried to get one, and I tried killing lots of monsters who were all suppoed to drop them, but in the end I got nothing. I eventually bought one. I might have a spare talisman or tiara if you are interested in buying one. pm me ingame if you like (curanir1) - I'll be on in a couple of hours.

The Barrows!!! -- Story Of Me!!!
you are going to burn through prayer pots taking on ahrim. You have range 56 and are using iron arrows. Get your range up, get better arrows, and use dhide armour. Use ring of life as it might save your neck if you run out of prayer. Like the shade_bandyt said - you need to mage most of the brothers or you will take ages per run, as well as a high cost in prayer pots. There are plenty of guides on the forums to help you - check those out for a good setup.

Guide to soloing the blast furnace
nice guide - a few things to add 1. i always look at the foreman when pumping as it is easier to tell if there is a broken pipe then looking at them 2. I tend to buy my iron ores, and bring my noted coal with me. This tends to reduce the profit that I get. 3. I tend to make 20 at a time because that it a convenient number to make with the other things in my inventory. This is particularly good when making plates. Making 25 at a time is possible if you a) dont alch and B) make steel/mithril knives. This way you can carry the knives that you make and save on inventory space. I also found that bringing lots of arrow shafts was useful, as I could make mith arrows and make them there so I could carry the arrows.

Minigames: the Good, the Bad and the Pointless
well i think that the Tears of guthix is not just useful for a low skill. My lowest is 61 rc, and I am thankful for the ~6k xp that I get each week. I think that you underestimate it hugely in your thread. Also, the brimhaven arena is very slow for xp, but I find it a lot more fun to do than the courses, where you are just running round in circles all the time. Also, the goutweed minigame is pretty difficult to do - I found it incredibly frustrating when I was doing Eadgar's Ruse minigame. Overall, nice thread

Desert treasure blood diamond
i meleed him using the whip and dds special. I used magic protect. He was a tough bunny to kill though - I must have killed him 6 times before realising that I hadnt blessed the silver pot and he kept on regenerating. Good luck

I need Help with a FEW thigns! Range/stat help
i'd suggest the ogres in the lathas training camp. You need to have done biohazard (i think), but they are good xp. If you are after something more challenging, the fire giants in the waterfall dungeon have a big pile of safespots to hide behind. I tend to only train combat as part of slayer tasks, so things like elves and fire giants I use to train range. There is also a safe spot for ranging the lessers in karamja volcano. Greater demons in the ogre city are behind bars, but you'll need telegrab to grab any goodies (not good with your level 1 magic). I think that you should get your mage levelled up - the teleports, alchs, and telegrabs are invaluable.

Heros Quest Help (NOT looking for member)
as far as i remember, you need a full black helm, legs and plate. Weapon not required. You can buy the necessary items from the champions guild + the armour shop in al kharid (I think). I'm not sure about the shield but I dont think it's required. As far as trimmed armour goes, you should be ok - try it and find out.

*Close this if you wish I've gathered enough information...*
to be honest - as a f2p your stats rock! I'd just get members asap and get going on the skills. Remember that many f2p skills are easier to level in members as there are more places to gather resources etc, and you are not competing for yews/coal as much once you get to members. Good luck in joining members - there's lots to do, and many minigames to distract you from skilling! I'm not sure many people coming from f2p could do this immediately, but you could head straight over to barrows and start getting some nice items (recommended 55 slayer though). To answer your other question: as far as stocking up on items goes, you could try collecting limpwurt roots, red spiders eggs and snape grass - they are useful for herblore later on. Good luck with quests - try to do lost city as soon as possible so you can start to wield those nice dragon weapons. :) RT

best way to get secondary ingredients?
there is a place in the desert called nardah. The ice cream seller stocks 25 chocolate bars. This isd a fantastic place to get ingredients. A quick bit of world hopping and you can get your ingredients very fast.

dont know what to do
whips are definitely worth it. They are not good for training strength, but they are pretty awesome for training att and def. However, I guess the answer to your question depends on what you want to get out of the game. If you are really into skilling then, the money could be used to buy hides (crafting), dragon bones (prayer), herbs (herblore). If combat is more your thing, then you could buy a cannon+balls or get yourself some nice barrows armour. You might be able to pick up full torags for ~3 mil or full ahrims for slightly less than that. Personally, I'd invest in a whip. They are definitely worth it.

Once a friend....now an enemy
thats really tough. Good luck with getting your money back. At least it is good wildy experience for you - you'll be much more careful next time. Just remember to check that you are carrying no more than 3 items next time that you go in.

What's the meaning of your name?
well i wanted a medieval/fantasy name so I deceided to have a LOTR character. I didnt want anything obvious but I thought that Mithrandir would be cool (Gandalf in Elvish). Was taken unfortunately. Instead I chose Curanir (correct spelling is Curunir with an accent on the u) as Saruman's Elvish name. The 1 is there because my first account was curanir but I died and lost all my stuff (never found a bank) so decided to restart. I was going to take Astrobot - my Warcraft 3 and Starcraft name but decided that it wasnt as cool as Curanir. :)

May 16th 2006 - Game Engine Updated!
well i like the sound of this update. I wont be able to test it out until I get home, but I think that in the long run, this update will own. It seems to me that there are clearly a few teething problems, most notably with lag. Surely the solution is not to go pking or trading valuable items until you are more confident that it is not going to be a problem.

Updates any time soon.... (?)
well i dont mind if there arent any updates. Personally, I would be happy if Jagex spent the next month just working on their new engine and macro detection systems. There is plenty in the game to be getting on with anyway. Besides, no updates means that I can catch up on quests :)

*Sigh* Some people... (long)
that post was hilarious. Made me laugh lots. I agree with ther comment above ^^. Possible post of the week, but it is only monday. I just cant believe that he could come up with stuff like that and expect you to believe it. PM him again in 6 months and see if he was lucky enough to get a 99 lamp off a genie or that he was selected by a mod to test out the dragon plate! rofl

herblaw quest i suggested
I like it. anything that gives me more herb xp i'm up for. However, I do think that the rewards are too good. Something like 5k herb xp, 1k thief, cratf and agil + the ability to make those pots would be sufficient. This would work well for an intermediate level quest. The alternative would be to make this quest for skillers (like devious minds was), so have a herb requirement of 60 or something. You could either melee the demon as normal, or you could make a pot that would protect from its attacks (like an earth protect pot - needs 60 herb to make) or make it easier to kill.

Range Training
i trained for a while at the lathas training camp north of ardougne. You need to have done some of the plague city quests before you can get in, but the ogres drop big bones and seeds and stuff, and cant fight back.

guthans and barrows?
i dont knwo how regularly guthans special works. The problem is that verac still has a chance of hitting through your armour, so you might be in isome trouble if you dont pray against him. Similarly, karil tends to do a lot of damage regularly, but as long as you are hitting him a lot, and have sharks as emergency food you should be ok against him. I might suggest using a super set too.

productive stuff i can do while high alching?
the problem is that you dont have any really high levels to do other things while alching. A couple of suggestions for you: 1. don some armour and dragonfire shield and alch in the corridor behind the blue dragons in taverely dungeon. people often leave the hides and just take to bones, so you could pick up a few hides/drops from there. 2. people often alch in barrows, partcularly in dharoks crypt as people sometimes die in there - lots of nice stuff to pick up 3. you could combine it with cutting yews in seers. The three by the church are always pretty busy, so you will have gaps to alch while the tree respawns.

How much iron ore can i put in the blast furnace at once?
basically I dont do more than one full inventories worth at a time. I smith steel bars and it gets all annoyed if I try to put more than abtou 30 iron in. After that, it refuses to let me put coal in and smiths me iron bars instead. Basically, I'd stick to a full inv's worth. I guess that you could always test it yourself...

Throwing knife question
1. you can pick up knives as you would arrows. There is some loss though as with arrows i.e. you lose about 1/3 of them. 2. Faster can mean 2 things here. Throwing knives go faster than arrows, but I find that they tend to do less damage then when wielding a magic bow+arrows. if you want to kill people faster, I'd say it's about the same either way. Also the mage bow has a special which is handy. some other info you might find useful: knives have a shorter range then the bow and arrow knives sit in your weapon spot not your arrow slot. This means that you can still wear a shield or prayer book in the shield slot. I find that the zammy prayer book is very useful for that.
