rogues den is definitely the best place to go for lockpicks. However, I wasnt aware that you needed 50 agil/ thief to get in to the entrance area - I thought that you only needed that you attempt the course.

mine was, when i was first members. I got to 45 agility and then got 1k tickets on the agility arena. Now got 950/1000 ticks the second time round and I NEVER want to set foot in that place again! The xp is just too slow. favourite skill I think is magic, as there is the most flexibility to do things with. Least favourite skill is thieving by a long way. I just find it incredibly dull, and not particularly profitable.

i think that it is great. I found it most interesting seeing which quests had the most prerequisites. After the obvious (desert treasure and legends), I was quite surprised to see Swan song had the next most quest requirements (longer than the plague city series for example) very nice

why do some peole use the same world no matter what?
rft replied to drowcon's topic in RuneScape Suggestions
im always on world 71 (points to avatar location)- I only change if I am selling something or if I am in a crowded spot. It's just the way that I am. It also means that you get to see the same people more regularly, and have an opportunity to make friends after bumping into someone multiple times. -
for anyone else having trouble with this, I had major issues getting zanik to talk. on a couple of occasions, she started to talk, but I clicked somewhere else on the map first and couldnt get the conversation again. There are three goblin spots, forest west of lumby, east of the river, and next to the sheep farm. I found that if you go to any of these areas and log off, she is much more likely to talk to you when you come back in. This worked for me, hope that it helps.

yeah good advice from all posters ^^ Just to add my piece: definitely food enough with your stats. Slayer dart is definitely the way to go. I did my first few barrows trips at about level 80ish and I managed fine. The first trip or so, you might want to use a few more pray pots - I used 3 or 4 pots on my first trip, just because I was unsure what was going on. Now I use 2-3 doses per trip. if you are interested my set up is below My armour: ahrims hood ahrims top ahrims bottom slayer staff glory mystic boots zammy prayer book rune arrows dark gloves legends cape this gives 97 bonus to mage my inv: ecto - useful if you are in a tight spot. going to change to tele tablet soon though rune plate+legs obby shield d med whip black dhide body+legs runes for slayer dart tele runes to lumby (again going to change to tele tablets) SPADE holy wrench - not many people use it but I love it for the extra prayer points per dose pray pot (3) + pray pot (4) lobbies

I love the dwarf quests. Forgettable Tale was excellent. Well thought out, a nice continuing storyline, funny in parts. My favourite cutscene moment has been in A Tail of Two Cats when bob and partner went to see the KBD.

either completing desert treasure or getting all stats to 60. This was short lived as construction came out a couple of months later. Back to normal now though :)

I got stuck on Ernest the Chicken  and needed some help with the levers. I actually wondered if anyone had put a guide up on the web (as i had never heard of RS before I started playing it). The amount of sites that I stumbled on were phenomenal, and I guess that I settled on this site for being the most user-friendly. I guess eventually I found the nice shiny button msrked forums and the rest is history.

yup exactly the same for me. I was called a noob for using a cannon at daggs. Tokk me 10-15 mins, got my 100+ kills and pocketed the ~10k xp that I got for it. I rarely use my cannon, but for ceratin slayer tasks it is a must.

ive had a few clues there before so dont worry. However, you DO need to have all the stuff with you. Get your sextant, watch and chart and use them to get yourself on the exact correct spot. Then you can't go wrong.

it's probably one of the new randoms. I serioously doubt that a level 16 is doing desert treasure. Besides, the random for that is to have a stranger turn up if you are carrying the diamonds in your inv and attack you. Looks like it might be the intro to one of the new randoms. probably the pinball one (not had that one yet)

yeah - i got 90 as a slayer task and I managed it in one visit using bones to peaches. I basically wore my best melee gear, armed myself with a pile of bones to peaches runes and a few lobbies and headed down there. My biggest problem was that I wanted to keep a lot of the higher level herbs that were dropped, so I was converting less bones to peaches with each casting.

I think that this skill is great. I'm only level 50-something construction, but I want to get is above 60 as soon as possible so that rc has a chance of getting my tears of guthix xp again. Basically, this skill is very expensive, but it is a nice thing to put some extra cash into. I want to get to level 67, then i can make loads of tele tablets and stay permenantly on ancient magicks. :) The teleport to canafis is useful to get to canafis, the unlimited glory is useful for everything, and the fact that your house stocks all materials such as hammers, etc means more room in your bank :) This skill has a lot of positives so it gets my appreciation =D>

none of your stats are particularly amazing. Concentrate on one of them and use that you make money. It seems that you are fishing a lot, so get your fishing up to 76 and cooking up to 80 and then sell sharks for a tidy profit. What I want to know is how you can afford full dragon and have 10mil in your bank. I have never had that much in my bank and I am much higher level. I can only think that you are a very successful merchant, because there is not much to go on in your stats. If that is that case, then keep doing what you are doing. If you can make 10 mil, then you can just buy some good levels in prayer, cons, herb and use those to make money. e.g. 66 herb means that you can sell supersets for 10-15kea, high prayer means cheaper barrows trips. You really need to get all your stats up, especially runecrafting. Levell 44 rc is the gateway to good money.

cooking guild ^^ rofl. Personally, I always go to nardah to get my chocolate. The guy stocks 25 of them. I wasn't aware of the lumby chest having such a big stock, I might go there next time. If you cant get to nardah easily or the chest from RFD, gnome stronghold is the best spot. Places not to go: 1. cooking guild (slow respawn) 2. port sarim, only stocks 2 at a time. I used to get them from him when buying feathers. Not very efficient though. 3. yanille. stocks a couple more than port sarim, but still slow

Gratz, a very nice guide indeed. A few questions below: How does the number of tickets work out in some of the other minigames? For example in whack-a-dummy, do you get 1 ticket per dummy hit; or 1 ticket per rock successfully defended in the catapult game. Also, are tickets bankable? Do they disappear if you leave the guild? ( i guess not, but always worth asking) I would be interested to know if anyone has experienced their rune armour disintegrating? I was thinking of making mith armour as it is easily replaceable, but if rune basically is tough enough not to disintegrate, I might use that. Also, do you think that it would be faster tickets to kill a mith animation over a period of time, or a rune one (as they are tougher)?

very curious. I confess that I have only ever gone from gnome stronghold, so I dont know if it is possible to climb up as well as down. Shouldnt think that there should be a problem. Normally if you cant do it, then it says " you need an agility level of X to pass this obstacle" . you could always try reporting it as a bug (or get a higher agility friend to try).

well i guess that it slightly depends on what level clue you want. The first thing that came to mind was cockatrice inthe slayer dungeon. They dont hit very hard, are pretty easy to kill and drop level 2 clues. harpie bugswarms are very easy to kill, take a little food, and you can kill them for ages. They drop level 2 clues regularly. I would say that you are probbaly not strong enough to quickly kill monsters that drop level 3 clues, so I'd stick to easy level 2 clue droppers. See the treasure trail guide to what other monsters drop: http://www.tip.it/runescape/?page=treasure_trails.htm

i think that you can get to the top of the plateau without doing the quest, just as long as you have range prayer.

Some Possibly Entertaining Addition to our Spell Books
rft replied to Toxicologist's topic in RuneScape Suggestions
some of these ideas are really neat. The magic spell (seal) looks nice, but it would change the combat triangle quite a bit. (mind you I guess that there are not that many 99 mages out there). Some of the defensive/offensive boosting ones are quite nice; if you were travelling to deep wildy, you could cast them in edgeville and just have higher defense/offense when going into the wild. the one that I am really interested in is the invisibility. I read this and thought that this would be awesome, but then I realised that it would make the wildy too easy. You could make yourself invisible when you were attacked etc and make sure that you never died. Treasure trails would be easy as you would just be able to get to your destination avoiding all the pkers etc etc. Some suggestions to improve it could be (just thinking off the top of my head): 1. The sense spell. you could attack someone who is invisible, but they couldnt retaliate without becoming visible. Ring of visibility could work in the same way. 2. Have a short time limit on the spell (automatic stopping of the spell) 3. cant wear with any armour equipped. This would mean that if you were spotted, the damage dealt would be greater. Would also mean that runecrafting wouldnt be affected too much. i.e. you couldnt use it for easy rc in the abyss. 4. Have animals still able to attack you (by smell). I also like the 'slow' spell idea. This could be a cheaper version of the entangle spells. However, I think that a better idea might be to have a 'drain energy' type spell in a similar vein to torags' special. -
i wonder if the thread starter has played a lot of RTS games like warcraft and starcraft. This kind of queueing of commands was very useful to get the low level workers to build several things at once. I can see how this idea would be handy for something like mining, where you have to click every rock (unlike, say fishing or wc). If the line was broken, then you would simply go on to the next rock in your line. However, I dont support this idea. Mining is a difficult skill to level, and should remain difficult. I agree with some of the other posters that it is essentially autoing. By your logic your 'line' could take you to the bank, bank your stuff, and continue mining, which is in essence what some bots do. If this came out, then the woodcutters would want to have a woodcutting line between trees to make the skill easier. There is no way that Jagex will effectively put in an automated function for your avatar to do anything.

make sure that you have a few super stat-restore potions with you. This is the most important thing. About one 4-dose prayer pot should suffice for prayer if that. Basically, I took a superset and quite a bit of food + restores. I wore black dhide armour to reduce the damage from his magic attack, and had protect from melee on. whenever i was frozen i ate or drank a restore pot or superset so that I could deal a lot of damage to himwhen i became unfrozen. I know it's too late now, but trollheim teleport is REALLY useful. you realy should have done the troll stronghold quest. Good luck on doing him, I personally found dessous and damis the worst of the four people.

lost city definnately the way to go. I was using edgeville for ages, but was startig to tire of crocodiles and elves every assignment. With lost city, I am getting metal dragons every other assignment at the moment, but when i do get a nice one, it tends to be pretty good, such as 150 fire giants, trolls or suchlike.

just to add to what the people said above: 1) i'd wait until level 68 smithing, then you can make mith plates to alch. I wouldnt sell the bars for money as you clearly want the smithing xp 2) Dont bother making cannon balls. They are good if you want to make money, but they take AGES to smith each bar. This is very slow xp. also, not a chance selling at 250ea. I normally pay 180-200ea for my cannon balls 3) you'll take ages mining the gold, but the smithing xp is pretty good with the gaunts. My strategy if to use the blast furnace. You use half as much coal per bar, meaning twice as much smithing xp for the same amount of resources. You can also smith and alch the bars there for pretty quick xp.
