Finding Seaweed
i presume that you are making glass then. The standard place to go is entrana. Equip 8 buckets and head over to entrana. run round to the north west coast and pick up 16 seaweed. (some you cannot get, but there are 8 spawns that you can). Run back round to the furnace and enter the building with the range to the west. Cook your seaweed on the range. Also pick up the glass blowing pipe in that building too. The sandpit is just south of the range. Fill up 8 buckets worth, and use the seaweed on the furnace to make molten glass. Repeat, then refill your buckets and you should end up with 16 glass. Repeat as many times as desired. The only problem is lack of a bank. A better place to get sand is the sandpit in yanille. If you do the hand in the sand quest, you get 84 buckets of sand delivered to your bank each day when you talk to the dude. Seaweed has many spawns. North relekka, and the beach areas on karamja all have seaweed. However, my favourite spot is pictoris fishing colony (get to after Swan Song). The fishing nets have 2 seaweed in them, and they respawn pretty quicky. The bank is really close to deposit them. Finally, you could fish for them yourself using a big net in catherby, say, and that is close to a bank.

Barrow question
how recently have you noticed this? I never use prayer against torag or guthan, and once every few runs, they do masses of damage against me (like hitting 20+). Other times, they dont hit at all before I have killed them. I dont think that they have been souped up at all, you might just be going through an unlucky streak.

Bank Robbery
well it is not directly related to a quest. It is just a bit of fun. The video footage was there for a while, even before the Swan Song quest came out.

so how much have u spent so far on construction?
about 1.5 mil to get to level 53. My aim is to (eventually) to get to level 65, and hopefully get there before they put construction onto Tears of Guthix. I need that xp on runecrafting.

The Falidore Massacre
interesting post. Firstly, I think that this thread would be better in general p2p, as it would go with a lot of the other posts on the same topic there. On topic, it is a very interesting interview, but I can;t really agree with a lot of it. You were hardly sympathetic towards the countless people that lost money, items and rares. Personally, I would log and report the bug as soon as that happened. He went into the house with the intention of bug abuse, fully loaded up with ancients, with every intention of ruining the game for other people. I dont believe a word of it when he says that he feels sorry for those that he has killed. The wilderness is one thing, but such an abuse is unacceptable. He is clearly not a normal, nice, quiet person for saying things like I hope that he gets banned, along with any other accounts that he has. I'm just sad that he managed to get rid of some of his items before he was disconnected. We dont need that kind of player in RS, and we dont need that kind of person posting on our forums. Your opinion at the end implies that he was the wrong peron in the wrong place at the wrong time, and this is all Jagex's fault for not testing. There are always more players than testers, and they are always some people trying to find loopholes. He deliberately made the most of a bug to gain maximum advantage to himself at the expense of other gamers. Shame on him, and to a lesser extent, shame on you for making him feel good about it and somehow justifying it to him.

Suggestion for a new stall
nice idea. firstly because it might give people a reason to use the thieving skill. Secondly, it would be a different way of getting materials. However, I think that 90% of the time it would give you planks and nails. Rare things like cloth and teak should be rare, and only be a few % of the time. Your respawn times are good as this would mean that people couldnt just camp there getting free resources, when others are hard woodcutting and spending money on the sawmill.

House Plans- Make your House in Advance!
this is exactly my idea too. I'm going to wait until I get to about 60 construction, then rebuild. The thing that is most important to me is being able to have the portal chamber and altar next to the garden portal, so that barrows runs will be tele-to-house, first room altar, next room tele-to-canafis. I dont want to have to run a mile through my house to get to to top floor to recharge my prayer, just to run all the way back to get a the portal chamber.

Estimation at money drained after just 3 days
i think that the one winner out of all this is the sawmill operator. He must be minted with all those logs being cut into planks. I'd like to see him with a blue party hat on next week - that would be awesome. :D I like the stats though. Many billions being taken out of the economy each day. I'll be a lot more over the weekend as people will have more time to play. I'm a bit like kwimbob - I spent 1mil just to get to level 50. :( I think 65-70 will be a realistic long term target for me, but I'd like to get back to levelling other skills soon to get more money to invest.

Prayer levels
this guide is very useful. As someone said above, the guide for super restores, and the effect the the very useful holy wrench has would be great

Smithing gold leaves
nope- construction is supposed to be a money drain. They have the high price for gold leaves and marble for a reason. The difference that you are suggesting is ridiculous. Compare one gold leaf for ~100k, to getting 2 per gold bar, easily mineable and smithable. Jagex wants this skill to be a money drain, so why would they make all the resources easy to make?

considering going p2p?
hi - if you are on only for a few months, then I'd suggest the following: 1) get your agility up to 20/30. This wont take long, and you can use agility in f2p if you decide to go back. 2) do some quests. There are lots of fun quests to do. The plague city series is fun, lost city is good for you to be able to wield dragon weapons. There are some nice easy quests to do, e.g. the one where you start on herblore. 3) try out a few minigames. Pest control, Castle wars, etc. are lots of fun 4) try as much out as you can - there are so many things to do, just try and have fun. 5) dont worry about getting your stats up anymore - just plunge straight into it.

Houseing question
wrong cloth i'm afraid. the correct cloth you have to buy from the sawmill guy at about 650gp each.

Where should I train my magic?
I'll assume that you are a member. If not disregard what I say. It depends a lot on your level, both magic and melee combat etc. To disagree with the poster above: I think that cammy teleporting is one of the most dull things ever. I have never done this, but I think that although it's good xp, there are better things that you can do with your magic. Such as: 1) mage training arena. Go for bones to peaches - it is one of the best spells around, and invaluable for combat training. this will get you up a few levels (whatever your level). You will need a good rc level to make all the runes for this. 2) barrows. I use a lot of deaths and minds here. This is a LOT of fun, a great way to use magic, and there is the possibility of an expensive reward at the end. You are very likely to break even just on the amount of bloods that you get. Needs a high combat level though 3) slayer. Some tasks lend themselves nicely to range/melee attacks. For example elves, lesser demons etc are pretty good. 4) alching. A good return for your money if you can fletch yew bows. This gives good mage xp (once you are level 55), and some useful cash at the same time.

Teak and Mahogany Tree Spots? Where?
it said when this skill was released that there were spots on ape atoll, south of castle wars, uzer, and karamja jungle. It is likely that ape atoll and karamja have one mahogany tree each, as the other two locations have one teak tree each.

Nail Business?
trust me on this one - noone wants nails. I made 2k iron and 2k steel nails before I realised that they werent actually needed for anything higher than normal planks. As oak is easier to chop than normal wood (multiple logs per tree & fast respawn), people (myself included) will quickly stick to the most cost efficient method of levelling, and that is with oak. Good luck trying to sell your nails, I ended selling mine for a real bargain, simply because I didnt want to waste time selling them.

Average Richness
level 93 - about 4 mil cash - spent 1mil on construction already. I'd say that my money is pretty low though. I tend to spend most of my money on dragon bones and herbs, and make it back fletching and selling my barrows duplicates. I'd say though, that I will probably be below the 1mil mark before long if I carry on doing construction the rate I am going.

Poisoned , im on low heealth, that boxing scam got me!
im glad that you survived it. For future reference, you could just try going into your own house. If you die in there then you keep everything that you are wearing.

Good Place For Cannon??
well I'm still a bit of a beginner as far as good cannon spots go, but I tend to use mine solely for doing certain slayer tasks. As mentioned already, dagganoths are pretty good xp, lessers in karamja are pretty good, or you could try greater demons in brimhaven dungeon. Other good slayer tasks for cannon are crocodiles and kalphite soldiers. I have never tried fire giants before, but if they are really good xp, then you could always try setting it up in brimhaven dungeon, or in the waterfall dungeon. (i dont recommend the latter as you will be cannoning your way to a lot of abuse from other players)

Mahogany trees?
there are 6 different places to get these logs. They are: -reward from miscellania (see royal trouble quest) -woodcutting minigame(in tai bwo wannai village) -woodland south of casstle wars -ruins of uzer -ape atoll -khazari jungle to date I have only been to the forest south of castle wars. There is just ONE teak tree to the very far west of that area. The respawn is relatively quick though. If the others follow a similar patter, I'd expect one tree in each of the other locations mentioned.

Where are the plank respawns?
Jagex said that there would be some more plank respawns around runescape. I dont know where any of these are though. Planks for 1k each!! Who would really spend that kind of money? Not me I'll tell you! I guess I'm just not that rich

Thieving
if I recall right, I used guards and the cake stall from about 40-45. Cakes were quick and you never fail, and you hardly get caught if you stand in the right place. Guards tend to be pretty annoying, but they give you a tidy bit of gold (useful for when i was at a low level). you will fail quite often I'm afraid, but as you get closer to 50, you will find that you are much quicker. I would not recommend farmers though. I have a ridiculous fail rate on farmers despite being 60-something thieving.

Where should I put this xp?
i used both of mine on herblore+using the 20k lamp from RFD on herblore too. Out of all the skills to level, I think that it is one of the hardest to get good xp in (along with prayer and rc) without spending a lot of money. Basically, it's up to you what skills you want to train, but you might aswell put it on something that you level very slowly in.
-
What should I do when i become a member?
members is a lot of fun. I would recommend the following: do some easy quests (especially druidic ritual to get started on herblore) spend an hour or so in the gnome training agility arena. Lots of cheap levels there+agility is very useful. Try out all the new members skills - they are a lot of fun, and you'll find that the f2p skills are easier to level up in members. most important, just enjoy yourself and have a good time. There is so much to do, that it will take you ages to get to know it all. Happy runescaping

POH Fencing Bug (DON'T FALL FOR IT!)
i wonder if you could try and enter your house before the poison takes place. Then you would be able to die and keep all your stuff. It's a seriously lame scam though - didn't take long for people to figure out. I'd be absolutely furious if someone did this to me. Well done for reporting them - I hope they get everything that they deserve.

1 click through shantay? yes please!
I had a rant about this a while ago making this suggestion. I was peeved about having to go through the customs officers on karamja, the desert pass, and the amount of clicks that it takes to pay the farmers. I was pleased to see the 'pay sailor' option implemented, and I hope that there might be a similar thing for shantay soon. I still want them to have a 'pay farmer' option, as the amount of dialogue you have to go through to get each patch checked out is ridiculous.
