Well it can't be trying to reflect Christianity because that's a monotheastic religion. I don't see Zamorack representing Satan because Satan isn't a God. I don't see any reason to suggest Sara/Guth are more representative of a Christian god than they are a Jewish god or Muslim one. I don't think the Gods in RS are trying to represent any mainstream religion, it was just convenient for the storyline to have a Good guy, Bad buy, and Middle one (and now they're trying to expand the game, the other ones). As far as which God is most like the Christian one... i dont know enough about rs history to say.

I'm not sure a soul altar is "long awaited". It's not as if souls are used anywhere near as much as nats, deaths and bloods. Apart from a few super rich people using the higher exp for quicker RC (and they'd have to be rich as i doubt many people would bother running for Souls) i don't think it would be that much used. Considering this lack of use, and the usual length in time between introducing new altars, i would be surprised to see to see this as an addition any time this year. And i see no real reason at all for it to be attached to the fairy tale quest.

Meh, some people RC pk for fun, or for profit. Irl ,some people torture animals for fun or rob graves for profit. I can accept the fact that they exist, and i don't complain. They have to live with the fact that most people hate them.

Yeah, or they can wait an hour and get a guide from someone who's already done it. It's not exactly hard atm. This update is for people who don't like to be walked through an entire quest, but occasionally get stuck. I do think it's a way of trying to wean people off fansite walkthrus, but not necessarily a malicious one - it's to the benefit of general gameplay if people can get small hints without having to spoil everything with a walkthru. Won't use it myself, i hate doing quests even semi blind (what's that, i've walked all this way and now i have to go all the way back and get an iron bar? i hate you!), but i thik it's a good idea.

Ok, thanks guys :) I've only done Barrows a few times so i guess it will get a bit easier when i'm more experienced. I was just making sure there wasn't something glaringly obvious i was missing :P

For me, the most annoying thing about oing Barrows is that every time you get to the end and try to open the Centre door, I have to kill a room full of bloody monsters. Why? Because every time i try to do the puzzle one of them attacks me and the puzzle vanishes. Is there any way to get around this?

Yeah, so i hear. But still... you could sell the runes you get and buy twice as many runes for fire bolt instead? Are people really that lazy?

Cba to do a comprehensive test, but it seems i've answered my own question Attacking mountain trolls (my mage is 80) Mage bonus -65: 20 splashes in a row Mage bonus +80: 1 splash in 12 casts No question in my mind that mage bonus does effect slayer staff. Which kinda makes me wonder why the hell so many people use it for barrows :/ Twice the cost of fire bolt, and with chaos gaunts the dart doesnt seem 'that' much better...

I've read in quite a few places (including on here) that the slayer dart isn't affected by your mage bonus. I've just tried it in ull rune, and seem to be getting far more splashes than i'd expect. Can anyone set this straight?

why do people ignore me :? anyway, this guy is very determined to keep his combat at 3... \ because 8/10 of us already knew it was ring of recoil before we read the threads, the otehr 2/10 read the posts and saw it was ring of recoil then you went ahead without reading any of the posts and told us it was ring of recoil by witch time everyone knew and you have made a fall of yourself. no, i read it all, and most of the thread was about people trying to figure out how it was done. You did well to read the whole thing and ignore the fifth post.

I definitely miss my best mate Player1337 who was benned not long after i started :( It's about 9 months ago now and he's still better than me in most skills :/ I miss it being easy to gain levels with a mage-based combat. These days i just settle for a mage level close to my combat level :(
