Dragon Claws
... For the last freaking time. We don't know if the special is limited to 100% - 50% - 25% - 25%. I agree, most hits do look like they're calculated off the first blow to land. But there are pictures and video clips out there that violate this rule, and if you ever had a chance to test this weapon for more than a couple hours, you'd know as well. We still do not know how damage is calculated for these. well since i've been using the claws special for like 1000x times, i can assume it's 100-50-25-25. the reason why the characters in the video violates this rule is because they pot. therefore making the strength slightly stronger and unbalancing the percentages. That doesn't explain hits like 35-34-1-0 though... Nor does it explain 9-9-6-5.

I am not assuming perfect hits. In videos seen to date, specs above 50 are extremely common - almost expected. Two of these wipes out a 99 stat player, while a medium spec of 60 wipes out another combat 50, 60 hp player in 1 hit. An Ags is not an option at the combat 50-60 player - even pures and no-one pk's PvP in Dharoks. The claws will become the only melee weapon worth taking into PvP battle soon. People will not risk 100M items to protect against getting 2 hit. Claw taggers will also roam PvP eliminating starglers. Claw tag teams will unleash additional specs on those lucky few who survived 2 specs. Whips will become a training weapon only - and pk'd with by the unlucky few who cannot get their hands on a set of claws. I didn't see a single hit above 50 in any vid so far. Are we watching the same video? Maxed stats means you have 115 HP + 38 from healing, you get one chance to heal between attacks. That's 153 damage. You need to do above 75 damage for each special attack in order to score a 2HKO. And DDS can hit that high as well... same speed. You are seriously overrating the claws. Even though there is no set formula known, it seems there is pretty solid evidence that Dragon Claws can not deal much more than double one of the hits. Also, in regard to your tag teams... may I suggest Prayer? 30% damage cut, without the 300M price tag. And uhh... sell me a Divine Spirit Shield please. I'll pay 150M. Or 200M. From your post, it seems you know very, very little about PKing. Claws will become the weapon of choice for melee pures who are fortunate enough to get them. They might be popular among the mid leveled pures as well. At the high levels, using claws as your primary weapon is like using a dds. It's inaccurate, and it's only good for its special. But you can't use claws + whip unless you're willing to risk the claws. The claws won't be a viable weapon unless the price drops a LOT, otherwise, it'll force the PKer to use a cheaper weapon. As far as big teams go... big deal. One more deadly weapon. They've already got their dragon spears, ice barrage, whips, DDS, everything else. It won't make as big an impact as you think there either.

You assume that PvP'ers pk in 'perfect' gear - alas a 100M shiled to block a claw attack. I am yet to see a 100M shield in PvP. The claws require 60 attack only, and at lower combat levels the divine shield is out of reach, as would 99 hitpoints. A pure with 60 attack, 99 strength, 1 def, 52 prayer will gobble up victims using these claws . Thats right, he will be 81 combat hitting mighty 70+'s each hit. Thats enough to spec out most opponants in the same combat range with 2 swipes. Claw pures will be all the rage unless these things get nerfed. Mark my words. The 60 attack, 50 str, 31 prayer pures with claws will stroll around protecting their claws while 1 speccing level 50's with ease. At least with a DDS you have 4 shots at eating out of them, they are inaccurate and often hit low, whereas the claws are incredibly accurate and hit constantly high. Stating that you need a 100M shield to survive a claw attack does not make the specials OK. To me it serves as ammo to get this thing nerfed. You are also making the assumption that you land a perfect hit twice in a row. When it's been seen in but one video so far, with the wielder wearing maybe 30M in gear, not even including the claws. Notice that one special, even without a DSS, doesn't kill. It only does, as estimated, maybe 97-98 damage. An AGS already does a 2HKO if you assume max specials both times... as can Dharoks. EDIT: Also...100M shield? LOL Sell me one. Or five...

Some quick calculations: The max hit seen so far is a 48. So far, no attack has exceeded double of the estimated max hit. The strongest hit therefore would like total 96. Divine Spirit Shield slashes 30%. That means your max hit with a perfect special is only 67. 115 HP + 38 HP from Tuna Potato and Brew simultaneously yields 153. Two perfect specials will result in a total of 134 damage, which you'll easily survive. Even if you weren't brewed up before and had 99/99, you would still survive by 3 HP, and be able to instantly heal 38 again. Runescape has reached a point where, in perfect gear, and a non multi pvp area, it is nearly impossible to die if you put all your efforts to avoiding death. Even two perfect dragon claws, with great equipment, won't land a kill. PERCENTAGE DOOD. I mean not every hit is going to be approximately 100% - 50% - 25% - 25%.

Dragon Claws
Except I, and many others, have seen many specials that didn't follow your result. The 9-9-6-5 as I posted above was the only one caught on film, although I also did see my brother hit a 12-11-6-5 in castle wars without killing the target. EDIT: As shown by that picture, if the first two hits of the special kill the target, the second two hits never appear. So for the 9-9-6-5 hit: Either the 6-5 hit first, and one of the 9s was greater and cut down. 6 - 5 - 9 - somethingbiggerthannine breaks the theory. The 9-9 hit first, that means the 6-5 hit was natural, OR one of them was even greater. A 9-9-6-5 or with a bigger value in place of 6 or 5 still breaks the theory. Is that sufficient proof that not all hits are 100-50-25-25? :wall: Not to mention, as shown in the video, multiple specials hit something like 35-34-0-1 or the like.

Dagon'hai robes ... What drops them FOUND ! (page 4)
Lets see I believe it was come to a long time ago that the numbers were 1/90,000 without wealth, 1/45,000 with. I got stats on Thursday, started quest Friday, completed it today. Fun quest but the puzzles were easy, the only hard fight was the balance elemental. Though I didn't use a guide and no one could understand why I didn't. Wealth is, as stated by Jagex, a 10% increase in chance of getting a rare drop. Even if you're 1/90,000 was right... 1/45,000 would be a 100% increase in chance of getting it. Did you make those numbers up or did you ask someone to make them up for you? :wall:

Yes, that guy was dying. I have the video clip. Two attacks landed first, WITHOUT KILLING HIM. They were 9 - 9. The next two hits were 5 - 6. The only reason I haven't uploaded the clip is that it's a huge AVI file which will take me 30 + minutes to upload, or 15+ minutes to process and 15+ minutes to upload.
-
Dragon Claws
Throws a huge hurdle into whatever theory I've heard so far...
-
Dragon Dagger V.S. Dragon Claws
What really bothers me is the 9 - 9 - 6 - 5 special I saw. I may upload it sometime when I have a chance, but that one hit defeats pretty much any theory we have. It's worth noting that the first and second hits are calculated simultaneously. That is, it doesn't really matter to the game which is first... so 0-30 is, for all intents and purposes, effectively the same as a 30-0. EDIT: Okay, since the file is an AVI, it's absolutely huge and it would take an hour or so to upload. I could instead process it with windows movie maker, but that tends to make the results look murky, and will still take half an hour or so to convert and upload. So instead I played the video and took a screenshot of the attack. The two 9s appeared simultaneously. Then the 6 and 5 appeared, killing the victim. Almost immediately after I finished taking this screenshot, my brother (who got a d claws through LS with me at Tormented Demons) hit a 12 - 9 - 4 - 3 at castle wars, which also doesn't fit the pattern we have. My guess is that Jagex has "patterns" programmed in for whichever attack hit first. First Two Attacks: If both hit: Common: One hits near max, one hits about half max -- The last two attacks both hit about a quarter of the max. -- One of the last two attacks hits about max, the other hits zero or one. Uncommon: Both of them hit near max -- The last two attacks both hit zero or one. Rare: Both of them hit about half max -- The last two attacks both hit about a quarter of the max. If one hits: It hits near max. -- The last two attacks each hit about half If neither hits, it goes on to the second set of two hits as if the first two hits never occurred.

Dragon Dagger V.S. Dragon Claws
I went through some video clips of a pure PKing with dragon claws. Out of the 11 kills + ROL'd target, only three special attacks did not follow the pattern. 20 - 10 - 5 - 6 11 - 2 - 5 - 6 9 - 9 - 5 - 6 Interestingly, all three ended in "5 - 6". I admit, the second one may be off, since I can't tell if the 2 was from ring of recoil or the actual hit. The other was a 9 - 9 - 6 - 5. Anyways, it's safe to say that the formula posted above is wrong. There might be a special calculation, but the second third and fourth hits definitely can surpass the first. EDIT: I'm going through YT videos now. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZocOa28T ... re=related 0:30 has a 32 - 17 - 16 0:36 has a 26 - 13 - 14 0:41 has a 24 - 12 - 7 - 6 and 32 - 16 - 9 - 8 0:49 has a 36 - 18 - 10 - 9 0:53 has a 24 - 13 - 12 So that theory / formula is definitely wrong. However, it's interesting that when the formula is off, it's almost always off by 1. Only two examples from the video clips I have are off by more than 1, and one of them may be incorrect thanks to recoil ring.

Dragon Dagger V.S. Dragon Claws
After testing the pair I got last night with my brother, and watching several vids on YT, there doesn't seem to be a calculation. The third and fourth hits never hit over half the max, but other than that, there's no real pattern. Also, it's fairly inaccurate. I tested it on some higher defense NPCs and it didn't hit very well. But it utterly rips pures apart.

Dragon Dagger V.S. Dragon Claws
oh I see. But the Dclaws work on a weird hit system -- It can't be really confirmed that the max is 29-29-14-14 on that. And how much would that drain on your prayer? Wouldn't it be a lot? You can't potato brew ppot... Anyways, thats still an 80 hit. pizza shark brew/karambwan would out eat it but just barely. Yes, you can potato + brew. If you time it correctly, you can eat one food item while drinking one potion at the same moment. It gets you out of tight spots against bosses, or while PKing. That's 38 HP healed. And Dragon Claws do not work on a "weird hit system". The first set of two hits do full damage. The second set of two hits does half damage. After seeing people test them for hours in various places (Duel Arena, Castle Wars, etc), I've seen almost every combination of 0s possible. The second two hits never exceed half their "max" hit, while their first two hits do normal damage. 115 HP, take an 86 from a perfect hit, add 38 back from brew-potato, gives you 67 HP. So even after a perfect hit, you'll still need to hit another almost perfect hit to kill. Also, no, it won't drain a lot of prayer. Assuming you hit max, 86, the shield would prevent 13, 13, 7, 7. That means you only drain 7, 7, 4 ,4. Add smite, and you drain 7, 7, 3, 3. So you drain a whopping 42 prayer points. Not really a whole lot, that's a bit more than one dose of restore.

Dragon Dagger V.S. Dragon Claws
No. I mean DSS, Divine Spirit Shield. Max hit with claws on DSS is 29-29-14-14, assuming you have Vesta, 99 strength, super pot, prayer, etc...

When you 2-hit someone with DSS, maxed stats, brewed, and using tuna potato + brew, post a video please...

Dragon Dagger V.S. Dragon Claws
Dragon Dagger has an accuracy boost on the special. Dragon claws does not. If you aren't hitting anything with dragon dagger specials, even with a defender raising your stab, you're not going to do any better with dragon claws. Dragon claws do up to triple damage in one hit, two times. Dragon dagger does double damage, four times, and is more accurate. The Dragon Claws are really only better if A) You're not using a defender for some reason, B) You're extremely lucky and hit your max, or C) You're a pure, and your opponent is a pure as well. In that case, your claw will get close to, if not fully, taking them down in one hit. Also, it's worth noting that if you assume maxed out strength gear and stats for the attacking player, and best defensive gear for the defending player, the attack can not take them out in one hit when they are at max HP. In fact, I don't even know if you can take them out with two maxed specials.

Dagon'hai robes ... What drops them FOUND ! (page 4)
There seems to be some confusion about the RSOF threads, so let me clarify quickly. There are currently TWO threads that quote Mod T-something. One is under quests, by Mod Mark. The other is under Recent Updates, titled FAQ or something like that. They both have the same quote, by Mod-T-whatever, that implies that you can only get the armor once. HOWEVER, in the thread under recent updates, about 2 paragraphs under that quote, the poster (who is also a J-Mod, Mod Emilee if I'm not mistaken), says that Black Knight Elites drop more of the armor. Both QF codes have been posted in this thread. I'll go find them and edit them into this post in a second. A few people have been discussing an "issue" with the Elite Black Armour from our new Grandmaster Quest. Mod Tytn asked me to post up a message from him about this, which I have included below. Before I do that however, I would like to remind everybody that your constructive feedback is very much appreciated. We are always aiming to improve the gaming experience of RuneScape for our players. Here is the message from the "Tytn" himself: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Id like to address the issue of the Elite Black Knight Armour within the quest, which many players are calling an error. This was a design decision I made, and which was agreed to by a number of my colleagues. This particular challenge was slightly more subtle and it did, unlike some challenges, have a consequence. It's unfortunate to hear that some players feel disappointed with this part of the quest, however I would like to explain my reasoning behind it. If a player decides to drop those items in preference to others at that time, that is a decision they may have made in haste and without properly investigating all of the surroundings. Players are tasked with the challenge of properly investigating all the surroundings and hopefully rescuing a certain NPC from the area, but it was up to them how they did it. Some of you may feel that the consequence of your actions is too harsh, again, it's unfortunate if you feel this way. This quest not only challenges players' ability to solve puzzles and defeat monsters, but also challenges the way they approach quests. The Grandmaster Quest is different to all others in RuneScape and consequences play a part of that change. I very much hope you can see my point, even if you dont agree with it, but most of all I hope that youll bravely persevere with the quest and see it through to completion, even if that costs you some time or some in-game resources. Dagon'hai robes ... What drops them FOUND ! (page 4)
15-16-653-57967040 According to that thread, Mod Emilee states that the Black Knight Elite drop their armor sets again during the quest. Is this true? If that is true, then it's likely that one of the other monsters drops the robes. My guess is that Jagex's policy towards the armor and robes is uniform. So if someone has confirmed Black Knight Elites drop more elite black armor, then one of the monsters probably drop Dagon'hai.

25-Nov-2008 Stealing Creation rewards system to change
This sounds pretty lousy to me, to be honest. Anyone who had a million+ points saved basically just got smashed in the face. It's perfectly possible to win 100k+ points per game, so having over a million points saved isn't unreasonable. "Spend your points now" huh? Except for the fact that you can't spend it on tools, since you need to play one more game for each tool. And seeing as you'd easily get 100k+ points per game anyways, you wouldn't be "spending" many points unless you're just sitting there the whole time doing nothing. While I suppose many would do that, wouldn't that make the game less fun for current players? The team with the fewer leeches will probably be the one winning. Typical Jagex, designing updates in a manner that incites more anger between players. Buying armor isn't much of an option either. Seeing as it'll degrade with usage rather than transforming, it won't be ideal, cheap to lose PK gear for people like me who aren't very good at PKing. Also, I hear a lot of people talking about how the XP is going to be weapon only. I doubt it. If only the weapon gives bonus XP, why would anyone wear the other 3 items? They do the same thing as now, except they degrade with no bonus at all. If it's XP per piece, then you'd have to accept an inferior helm to get the full 100% bonus. The plate and legs are arguable, since many level 120+ still use rune, but the helm is undeniably weaker than the other helmets available (Black mask, Slayer Helmet, Helm of Neitiznot, Berserker / Warrior Helms, Fighter's Hat, etc). Even the body + legs mean that you lose access to barrows gear, proselyte if you're praying, magic defense gear if you're fighting spectres without prayer, etc. On that note, many slayer monsters will automatically prevent you from using a helm. There goes a chunk of your bonus. Finally, the most gruesome possibility is that all the pieces must be worn. That would make the set very restricted in usage, since you can't use it for many slayer tasks thanks to lack of helm, you don't want to use it for slayer thanks to lack of black mask / slayer helmet (With the possible exception of undead tasks, where Salve(e) still works). Also, why is everyone focused on the melee gear? Melee combat stats are usually the first maxed by anyone, and probably the easiest to train as well. What about Rangers? Oh right they get to train with a YEW LONGBOW if they want bonus XP. Yea, that's going to be useful. And if armor is required... one more nail in the coffin. Yew Longbow + Green Dragonhide equipment. The armor will become extremely limited in usage, even more so than it is now. Finally, it's worth noting that even if you do have a use for the armor, and even if you didn't have to play 1 game per tool... 10 tools + 10 pieces of armor = 20 bank spaces. Hell, farming doesn't even take up that many bank spaces unless you keep every single random seed like potato and onion, and they gave us an extra few rows for that. These items don't stack. They don't go in the house. You can't save the points and buy the equipment when you want it. All in all, this intended fix seems to also, in the process, degrade the rewards.

god pages
Difference being that there HAS been pictures of sigils and NONE of god pages from clues. KB is inaccurate, you've been shown several examples in this topic yet you seem to be ignoring those. Also not all Jagex mods know everything (infact, I doubt that ANY Jagex mod could answer all quests relating to the game accurately) I've asked Paul things before and he says he doesn't know and he's one of the mods who's going to know more than most. The fact is is that no one has posted a picture of a god page from a clue since April 22nd. Why would you consider a screenshot proof? If you doubt the KB on the grounds that "The knowledge base has been wrong before...", why would you not doubt a screen shot on the basis of "Someone has made fake screenshots before"? I'm fairly certain that fake screen shots are posted way more often than knowledge base errors are found.

I've killed Zilyana, Graardor, KBD, and I believe K'ril with no prayer. Dozens of people have gotten 1M+ in SC, thanks to the silly exploit. Fight Caves no prayer is basically just a massive waste of money and time, but not all that difficult, seeing as people have taken Jad down without pray.

Partyhats are back.
He's not lying. Purples have been hinting at going up for the past few weeks now. More and more people are buying them, and they've usually sold within a day or so of being in the GE. It's pretty natural for the price to overshoot when adjusting. Supply and Demand of party hats exist. Just because the demand is lower than the supply doesn't mean it doesn't exist, it just means the equilibrium is too high. The equilibrium will adjust itself to the right point. Likely, it will also overshoot a bit, meaning it'll "bounce back" a bit. The most probable outcome now is that party hats will, one at a time, resume their slow climb. Which in all honesty, is how they should be. They're trophy items, items that don't have any value besides being rare. Their value should remain generally in proportion to the value of money, unless another factor comes into play.
