POTC ftw!

so cool!

south of the flax field by camelot is generally the recommended place to go -lots of yews, near a bank, but often busy gnome stronghold is really close to a bank, but the 3-4 trees are not right next to each other I like to cut yews north of rimmington in p2p. It's completely empty, 4 trees all for you, and you can use a duel ring-house teleport for fast banks
-
you can also eat nightshade (farming or caves under gutannoth)
-
whip is probably better, and you get the defense bonus from the defender. However, the whip is more expensive, and it can't train strength

prayer is absolutely buyable. In fact if you don't buy it, it is probably one of the slowest skills imaginable. as for crafting, I'd say it is buyable because the most of the ways to train it involve losing money (hides, silver) like prayer, high herblore MUST be bought ranging and runecrafting should probably go under quasi-buyable. i've heard combination runes can give much faster experience than normal runecrafting, but of course its a huge waste of money. the recent addition of chimchompas makes ranging quasi-buyable. Several skills, like fishing and woodcutting, can be trained at the fastest rate while making the least money. i.e. fly fishing and cutting willows make terrible money, but they are the fastest ways to train. So in this respect, you are losing out on profit as you powertrain these skills, giving an advantage to the people who don't need money. So even those skills are quasi-buyable to an extent

teleporting: do you rely on it? (largish image warning)

heh... pretty pictures i teleport everywhere -
Potentially new skills? Im brain dead....Cant think of any.

the best ideas i've heard so far are: animal farming (this could go under farming, but it doesn't need to) -you raise your own animals, can get resources from them -this can be called "husbandry" or somethign like that sailing -someone already wrote about this necromancy -there already is a necromancer south of fally, and its not exactly magic, so it doesn't need to be like another spellbook of magic -
prayer book is useful if you're fighting giant monsters using only prayer for defense. In which case you are wearing all prayer armor, too. There are not actually that many monsters that you need to do this with, except big dragons, and then you have to use an anti-dragon shield. For combat quests, like contact or something, I would also probably use a prayer book, because you won't need long-term defesne as much, and its free to replace. In fact, some people like to take prayer books into the wilderness, because they are free to replace (unless you are mad rich, 300k for an obby shield isn't something you want to lose).

Does anyone actually care about 99 firemaking?
Piman replied to antonwhy's topic in General Discussion
99 firemaking is respectable in my eyes people talk about how its so "fast" and "buyable" when its still a lot more work than most of these people have done on any skill. 99 firemaking is not cheap by any means, and will still take you at least weeks to get while training it constantly. One more thing: 80 firemaking IS VERY VERY GOOD. Most people have never really done shade burning. Level 80 firemaking enables you to burn the highest level shades, which get you some really nice addy and rune rewards, along with tons of CLUE SCROLLS. For the kinds of items you get out of the chests, up to 80 firemaking should never, ever be called useless. Anything over that is arguably useless and just for looks, but firemaking still has much more use in it than it did before shade burning. -
having done the new temple trekking a couple hundred times getting my full lumberjack, I collected about 100 nails during the first few days (before I got fed up with the low top drop rate, and evaded my way through route 1). If you are willing to do the trekking a bunch, the nailbeasts are surprisingly easy, even on route 3 (especially compared to the juvinates and snakes and stuff). They do 3 hits a time, but they tend to all be low, and they are easy to kill. Since temple trekking route 2+ gives decent rewards, the nails probably won't ever get that expensive.

there was a topic on RSOF about killing those freaking juvinates people seem to agree the best weapon is the rod of ivandis (only weapon that can hit over 10 on them) with a rune defender. You could also use a zammy prayer book if you are doing the hard route with a prayer outfit. The guthix balance potions are a gigantic pain in the butt to make, and are basically garbage anyways. The rod of ivandis also is hard to make, and a rod(10) will last you like 2 encounters using the special/guthix pot combo. Melee-ing with the rod is the best way to go as of yet. Hopefully jagex will give us a new way to kill vampyres soon, or at least boost the worthless rod/guthix pot combo. Other weapons that work on vamps: silver sickle (B) silverlight darklight wolfbane dagger silver bolts the silver bolts have been reported to be complete garbage also, it will take you hours to get through each juvinate event using them. I've used wolfbane and darklight, they work pretty decently, but they cannot hit hgiher than 10. Rod of ivandis has crappier stats, but it has "hidden" bonuses against vamps

So far I have 6 hats and 2 boots this is really starting to bug me lots of herbs, silver bars, and other random junk tho =p

if you can't get cheap maples (from Kingdom manegement as above), do willows. Willows are the fastest to cut, and 70 fletching will not take that much longer on willows rather than maples. As for woodcutting, yews are pretty horribly slow until 70+ or 75+

the only really important part is the prayer- which you have. You will need lots and lots of prayer pots, good food, and antipoisions. When you go through marim dungeon+are sneaking around ape atoll you will need to use protect melee/range almost constantly, and things will hit u anyway, so you need food too. And as long as you are ready for the demon, anyone with prayer can beat him. Beware, as he uses different types of attacks and can hit u for 30+ several times in a row, so always always always be ready to eat.

probably the only way to get lots of it is to grow it yourself, or get a reliable friend who will grow+sell it to you. You can try posting topics in lots of forums to find someone who will grow+sell sweetcorn for you, I'm sure there are people who will do it for a price. But nobody really sells it on the spot, you need a worker or something
-
i hate noobs who have terrible stats, but they are ridiculously rich due to collecting worthless pieces of paper jagex gave out years ago. And now they stopped giving out tradeble holiday items, so theres no hope for me getting rich by sitting around being a noob for 3 years.
-
either high wildy, trollweiss mountain, or marim dungeon on ape atoll
-
looking at your stats, I'd say fishing is probably still your best bet you can try steel bars but I don't think they will generate money much faster. if you're bored, then you can switch off between bars and fishing. I don't know if you're strong enough, but you can try killing hellhounds and the such for clues and go treasure hunting.
-
this is a) a scam to get you killed in wildy B) referring to treasure trails, where high-level clues will often lead you into wildy c) something that nobody knows about
-
what is happening is that you keep on failing the agility obstacle. Either raise your agility, or use a different skill to get in
-
look on the world map, and go find the northeast cave marked by the (!) I think that's where you want to go. There are several caves on the northenmost area, and some of them aren't marked (not sure if they are real cave lol). You want the one farthest to the east.

having died to the demon in monkey madness with all my monkey crap, I have to say its a huge pain in the butt to get it all back. If you have a m'speak ammy you can just buy a new talisman, else you have to go back and beg the little boy. <-- thats what i had to do. Combined with RFD miniquest, I've probably been through that stupid marim dungeon like 20 times. SO UNNECESSARILY LONG!!!!

i got to 70 smithing in f2p from my experience, iron bars is the fastest xp steel will lose you less money, but its definitely slower
-
join a clan and start pking a lot =p its tons of fun, it takes some practice, but after spending some time there you get good at avoiding death and you can get some good drops now and then.
