28-April-10 Buyers and Cellars (and Thieves Guild)
Woah, that's epic. Expect a nerf tomorrow morning. That would suck... >.<' If it is intentional though, hell I'm gonna go get my thieving up there then haha Overall the quest and mini-quests afterward were quite fun. :) Nice to be able to "build" a guild. O_O I wonder if this is a prequel to building stuff for clans...! XD Naw maybe too far of a leap but you never know right?

Tip.it Times 26 April 2010
I actually did mention the GE briefly. Someone, not necessarily you, is providing for those materials. The tokens bit I didn't want to mention because the main focus was on the skill itself, not the rewards reaped from it. Skills depending on the other skills has been around for ages. That was the point I was trying to get across. First off I would like to thank you for your quick reply. Although dependent skills have been around for ever, dungeoneering took it one step further by including every skill in game. You did mention the G.E. and said that things don't magically appear and someone else has to train the skill to get the supplies, however you don't need to train the skill yourself. Dungeoneering does not allow you to buy supplies from the G.E. as a substitute to a low level in a skill so you must train the skill yourself or rely on another person directly (I don't consider the G.E. depending on another person because you don't interact with another person, and its fairly reliable). In all other dependent skills you can train only one of the two with no penalty to efficiency, In dungeoneering not training all of the dependent skills reduces your efficiency by a lot. This reliance on other skills or other players is far more apparent in dungeoneering than any other skill and makes me think of it as more of a mini-game than a skill. I think that people see how different, yet similar dungeoneering is to all the other skills and mini-games in runescape already, that it makes it hard to place it in one category when it has aspects from almost every part of runescape. Hell, it even has a quest aspect with all the journals you collect as you advance through the dungeon. Thats why I feel that dungeoneering isn't a skill or a mini-game, but is in a class of its own. No problem. :) Been making an effort to try to respond more to any questions regarding the articles I write to clarify any points necessary as well as continue the discussion further (which is always great because it helps us with later articles). Technically you can actually buy some raw materials through the smuggler, albeit very limited and cash isn't exactly easy to come by in the dungeons. For soloing the skill it would make sense to say that we may not have all the skills needed to interact correctly in order to complete the entire dungeon, but in parties it kind of works like the GE (let's say the GE as just a medium between the players) and rest of the game as a whole in terms of someone running to get the ores or wood, making runes, opening skill-specific doors, etc. From my experience so far, it seems to be more efficient to train the skill with a group to get through the dungeons faster rather than solo, which would definitely make it feel like a mini-game, but also demonstrates how the game works as a whole in a more apparent way. I agree with you when you say that dungeoneering does have a quest aspect to it as well with the journals. ;) Dungeoneering, if I recall correctly, was meant to be a mini-game but later geared to be a skill instead. I guess for now we just need to wait and see how dungeoneering will play a part in the game outside of Daemonheim. This is probably the key to defining what Dungeoneering is because right now the fact that we can only train it in ONE PLACE gives it a feel of a mini-game (in addition to the tokens of course), whereas agility for example has many areas to train in. Still fun to discuss and debate on what dungeoneering is though. ^_^

Left 4 Dead
Hopefully the L4D1 DLC comes sooner than later... It was supposed to come out in May but now I'm guessing June or July since L4D2's DLC got delayed. :( That's too long! Comic is supposed to come in between the releases of the DLCs to give more details on the storyline, so we'll see... EDIT: L4D2 is now $20.09, $15.07 if you buy it in the four pack!

Left 4 Dead
Was disappointed with the DLC. Could've gotten way more story line out of it than what was given to us. :( Oh well. [hide=Super Spoiler Picture] Uploaded with ImageShack.us[/hide]

Well like Racheya said, expect more articles about the new skill in the long term. (Un)fortunately, I'm up next week! :P It'll still be considered short term, but hopefully the tangent I go on can apply to future skill updates (if any)... OMG SPOILERS NOOOES! XD

Dungeons of Daemonheim trailer from Thejagexchannel
Ez, if you want to go that route, just call it ScapeCraft. Much easier. Or RuneCraft... Oh wait that's the skill. XD

Dungeons of Daemonheim trailer from Thejagexchannel
I thought trailers were supposed to happen before things actually came out? XD Regardless, it's quite nice (for someone who doesn't make videos *cough*me*cough*). Would be great if we got voice-overs in the game, but how much of an impact would it make on our computer systems, let alone the game itself? :x Loving the water and particle effects. ^_^

April Fools Aftermath
Oh my god that was just epicly hilarious. XD I had some fun trying to remember all the Pokemon. And I got to share the only Pokemon with gender with a special someone out of the original 151. Booyah! :)

When do we get a REAL update?
Note: In no way is this directed at the OP. Sorry, but to be blunt, it angers me (to put it very politely) when people complain that they're paying for something that they're not happy with and say they're not getting what they're paying for. Not happy with it? Then stop paying for it and don't play. The point of members is to have added content. It doesn't mean you'll always get kick-[wagon] updates, it doesn't mean that they're going to cater to YOU and only YOU. Just because you can shell off a few bucks a month doesn't mean you are the CEO, CFO, and the Head Development for the game. Throw out that elitist feeling just because your family helped you pay for members, or that you paid for it yourself, because you chose to use that money on the game instead of something else that would probably give you more satisfaction then if you're so unhappy. You're not forced to pay for the game, you're most certainly not forced to play the game. And there is no restriction to how you should play the game. You don't have to do the quests, you don't have to participate in the activities. Go do something you want to do or leave it. I for one am quite happy with what's given. Better something than NOTHING at all. We all have our opinions on how the updates are going, but please, don't make it sound like you ordered Jagex to do something and they failed to meet your expectations just because you pay.

This is the thing we need to see more in the RS community!

Tip.it Times 14 March 2010
I don't think much has changed in all honestly. I've always felt that the original mods were selected because of their community participation, it was just never explicitly stated. Doing so, however, does help to show that we don't need to be report happy to be a player moderator. But I guess in all it is for the better. Less feelings of elitism (I sincerely hope) and less trigger-happy mutes. I've found myself reporting more than usual though since becoming a player moderator (almost into my sixth year now... that's scary to think about), but I guess that would have to do with the fact that there are more people playing, and the fact that I've been hanging out in clan chats that are sometimes a wee bit more rowdy than appropriate.

Tip.it Times 14 March 2010
:P To be honest, I didn't think I would either, but then the opportunity popped up for me and I said, "Hey I may as well give it a shot" since it's not a permanent status (yes we can request for our statuses to be revoked if desired). I grew to like the role of helping out the community in a more functional manner, albeit still not that much different from the normal report button, but still something. Better to be able to mute someone who's spamming a dozen lines with racial slurs on the spot than watch and stare in horror after reporting them (or cringe at the thought that even though I might have the player ignored after reporting so many others may not). The silver crown can be a curse and a blessing at the same time.... >.> If you cannot handle unwanted abuse appropriately (i.e. going off on them instead of ignoring/reporting them and moving on), this is definitely not something you want to do. If you can handle the abuse but are report happy on everything, I really don't recommend it either because context is a huge thing in the community. Taking pieces out to make someone look bad is just plain awful in my honest opinion. If you can handle the abuse, can take things in context, and is overall up to reading a lot of stuff before going out into the world with a mute-stick, then by all means give a shot. But don't feel pressured to stay being a player moderator forever. You can ask to step down. This is not a career job. This is a volunteer position. There's a good reason why there isn't a quota of reports either. Can you imagine the number of mutes and reports going off, and how stressful it could be just PLAYING the game? It's like saying, "We expect the community to be this bad, so each of you must report this amount of people per month." Jagex does not hold these expectations because they hope that players can follow the rules and behave as appropriate. That being said, they don't expect a perfect community either, thus the introduction of the report abuse button and later player moderators.
