There's nothing wrong with botting. The real issue is how much grinding is required to reach all parts of the game. Runescape should reward players for quest or minigame completion more than it does already. With the amount of grinding required (especially with RS Classic) I don't understand how runescape has seen the success it has. My main account has over 160 days legitimate gameplay. Why would you sit at a computer for 10 hours a day clicking the same thing over and over when you can have a (largely undetectable) program do it for you? The botting community is growing very rapidly, with bots being affordable, effective and reliable. They will solve all random events all of the time and there is almost no limit to what the new type of bots can achieve, other than the skill and imagination of the scripter. Scripting is very easy, thanks to the comprehensive API that the bot community has developed. A decent script can also be very lucrative for the scripter. The only way you will be banned for botting is from MULTIPLE reports against you, or if you are unlucky enough to encounter a player mod.

Tried running it as administrator? In windows 7 that's: Right Click -> Run as Administrator rather than double clicking it (think it works in vista too)

You aren't allowed, which is half of the reason that the trade limit is there in the first place..

I am considering alching from 76-94 mage, and I'm wondering what people alch now. It used to be yew longbows, but is there something better?

Should I barrage 99 summon instead? I heard I can get 4k crims in 2-3 days with 5-6k barrages if I use brobes/sol. I want to do tds with steel titan, claws, ovls and the 15k restore specials that I have..

I havn't slayed for a looooonggggg time.. but I wouldn't mind the 90+ slayer level. I'll have very little motivation to ever train slayer again after I reach 99 summon. I've been told that I could get 4k crims in 2-3 days barraging rock lobsters with extreme mage pots.

I'm max melee, and need 4k crims to finish 99 summon. How long would it take me to get 4k crims via slayer? (I'm 87 slayer) If you could work it out in hours and not "3 weeks, depending on how long you play", that would be cool. (If there's a common ratio between slayer xp: summon xp that is)

Could make more than that in a few days on an account with all level 1s..

Absolutely no lie/exaggeration here; but I sent them a very long and detailed suggestion in 2006 which was almost exactly implemented into the game. It's called the Grand Exchange..

Well you should always use super attack/str potions anyway, as they cost less than 10k/hour. Armoured Zombies would definitely be better XP/hour, probably better charm/hour (you get a lot of blues there), and probably better profit/hour (an inventory of ranarrs/high level herbs/high level noted logs takes around 30 mins from what I remember). Oh I also used to be a maxed tank, it sucks. You're missing out on a lot of potential gameplay (boss hunting) by not training attack and strength. EDIT: Congratulations on 99 range, nearly 60,000 people have reached 99 since I got it. :blink:

I just stood infront of him and ranged. Dodge/react to the special attacks. Don't bother safespotting. Bring a 3:1 brew/res ratio. Use diamond (e)?

I knew about the xp rate with crystal; I trained 80-99 range with it at fire giants in 2005-2006 (before crossbows/armadyl/void range/eagle eye etc..) I used to get 65-70k xp per hour using ranging potions and max range bonus (Ranger set + black d hides + fury + archer ring). For Dag Kings crystal bow is king; The additional range means that you can stand way back and not have to worry about attracting the attention of supreme like you do with the rune crossbow and karil's crossbow. The additional prayer bonus from using a soul wars cape makes a big difference to the length of the trip too, especially if you use overloads. if you're using a unicorn you don't need a shield. If you use yak it doesn't matter so much as you have 30+ brews anyway. Crystal bow with overload and eagle eye is very fast on prime, surpassed in speed only by Karil's crossbow (which is 4x more expensive and has a much shorter range). If solo tribriding, you can also kill prime on rapid while rex is lured to you (Best way to solo tribrid: get prime to 10hp, kill rex, kill prime, kill supreme, lure rex, get prime to 10 hp, kill prime, kill rex etc etc..)

Well considering that the leaf bladed sword (if that's what you meant) has 0 crush bonus, you might as well punch them. Skip them (There are other alternatives but the task will take forever - V Flail, D Mace, T Hammers etc).

It won't be worth it to *waste* a whole inventory of brews/restores for 1 or maybe 2 kills. It will also be very frustrating. You're better off finding a team.

I'm looking to make some money on my pure. I haven't been to sara for a while, but as far as I can remember if you don't attack the boss, the minions don't attack you. My plan is: - Join a sara team on my main (maxed + extremes) and lootshare OFF - Sit my pure in the corner with mage pray on and lootshare ON I can't see why the team wouldn't accept this- I could even bring them extra supplies, the only issue would be if it breaks the rules- obviously doing this on the same computer is. But what if I used two different machines to 'multi-log'. Is that still against the rules? Alternatively I could try and find someone else in the same situation as me and take it in turns, Ie. Trip 1 - Me fight with my main and no ls and my partner sits in the corner with his pure Trip 2 - I sit in the corner with my pure and my partner fights with no ls The question is, is this a viable way of pure money making? The pure could also do more than just 'sit in the corner'- it could attack the minions, or alch.

I always see you posting on threads like this, and your stats always make me want to prove you wrong (as you have low summon/herb/pray). Anyways, I did CT with wolper 92-95 for 120 crims per trip (1 hour) WITHOUT piety or even extremes! There wasn't that much difference when I got to iron titan, maybe 5-10 crims per trip difference. The only problem with waterfiends is the boredom factor - they get very repetitive. But so do lobs I guess. Slayer does too. Basically grinding on runescape is horrible. Rock lobs are around 150-180 crims/hour with an additional 80 golds, 60 greens and a handful of blues. But the cost is huge.

I'd say they are about the same. It doesn't really matter though, as it's killing prime that slows you down hybriding rather than supreme. Claws and balmung are a very good way of disposing of supreme :thumbsup: Conclusion: use Balmung (marginal difference but fun to see high hits - 690 is my max so far with ovl, 99 str and piety)

Hello, I'm playing around with an idea that I have, and I want to have the runescape applet inside of a Swing based Java application. Of course, I have no idea how to do this. I'd obviously need the URL of the runescape applet (which seems to be hidden in a mess of javascript) and possibly use ClassLoader? The only solution I have found is to attach an open source web browse, make it navigate to runescape.com and not let the user leave runescape.com. Can anyone think of any way of getting the actual applet and sticking it into a JPanel? Regards, Charlie

I did this recently, costing me about 140. Do ranging potions until 84 (18gp/xp ish), then restore specials till 92.

What do you need the full slayer helm for? Doesn't melee win everywhere?
