The Cost of 90-99 Ranged (Red Chinchompas)
About 40m total I've heard. That's one week duoing GWD then another week getting 99.

Chinning to 99 range.
No, all game advancements have been like gradual. Just so you know, fletching was 3-4 times faster before 'String All'. A whip is maybe 50% faster than a d long, chins are 1000% faster than what range was before. It doesn't matter anymore, the damage is done and 20,000 people have 99 range. If range is this fast however, I want an option to buy 99 strength. Now would be nice Jagex.

The Grand Exchange
Not true. It averages it out. If you sell min and someones buys max then then it will go through at the middle value giving the buyer some change and the seller extra. Equally others are talking rubbish, the ge prices update every day. It varies time wise but during evening (GMT) they update. Selling/buying limits only apply to major resources eg runes and ess where you can only buy so many per 4 hours or per day That is not true, and D Jay was correct about the way that it works. It basically ends up with whoever puts in the earliest offer getting screwed. Go buy a swamp lizard for medium price, and look at how much you actually pay for it. The GE does update every day, but as he said, the exact time varies. The 4 hour resale limit applies to EVERYTHING. I'll just have to assume that you misunderstood something concerning your shield... There is also a limit on how many of certain things that you can buy/4 hours. A few that I know of are... Armour/Weapons - 100/4 hrs Runes - 50k/4 hrs(I think) raw Materials - 10k/4 hrs(again not sure) The only one that I am completely certain of is the 100 limit for armours and weapons, including utility weapons. Oh, so every 4 hours I can buy and sell 100 items of armour or weapons, so I could buy 50 shields and resell them immediately?

Chinning to 99 range.
Yeah thanks for the advice. You know it really pisses me off when people rip on other players just because they can afford to train their skills more efficiently. Gtfo. If I work to make the cash then I should be able to spend it on what I want. [/hide] You know it really, really pisses me off when I spend 5 months training a skill that I love from 90 to 99 then an update comes out allowing people to train that 99 over 10 times faster than I did, simply by getting lucky at GWD. I have zero respect for people who chinned 99 range just for the cape - and in the process getting a useful maxed skill with it. *insert care here* go cry or something

skeletal wyverns much?
Who wouldn't pot on tasks :-#

99 slay
Yeah, you need another like 50m combat xp to get 99 slay. Invite me to your par-tay :? Grats on teh 99
-
Barrows for pures?
Killing all 6 brothers increases the chance of getting an item from the chest.
-
Maging rex.
Why would you pot/wear mage cape when maging rex :P
-
Chinning to 99 range.
Please don't. Kray hates chinners.
-
Maging rex.
Fire wave hits 20. You can only hit 19 with slayer dart if you have over 90 mage. At 80 mage you'd be hitting 18.

PC still the fastest way to train melee stats?
Seriously. Always train combat with slayer, unless you are killing green dragons or aviansies to make money or something like that. You will regret your low slayer level and all that extra training you have to do later, and besides, training slayer is a whole lot more fun than camping at one monster because of the variety. Why? Why train combat from slayer if you want fast experience. Slayer isn't the be all, end all of training, slayer is not the god-like skill it is made out to be. Is it the variety? Big deal, you get the same 5 tasks day in and day out. Is it the fact that you can make money from it? Well, using a cannon and only about 8k cannon balls, I've not made any money from slayer. Sure, you get those abbyssal whips and dragon boots, but how practical is that for making money? You could much faster make money and train combat by power-training and runecrafting. One more thing, why should you care about slayer level if the only thing good about it is the total level from it? Is it for the respect of getting the cape? Phaw! Who cares about some stupid cape and why should I respect you for training slower than other people, but getting another skill up that helps you in no way after you've stopped training it? If you train just for the skillcape in a skill, you are, quite frankly, an idiot who doesn't even deserve to have level 2 in that skill. The only reason I would train slayer would be for charms. Slayer is actually fast xp, I average around 60-65k XP an hour on tasks. The black mask helps tons. Also with slayer you make tons of money, especially if you grow herbs and replace them every task. You can make almost a guaranteed 200k per task minimum, now who doesn't want that? Obviously combat XP is sacrificed if you choose to use farming, but it would be if you farmed while 'power' training. If you're worried that changing tasks might slow you down too much, you're changing too slowly. Use NPC Contact and changing from one task to the other takes about 2 minutes. (NPC Contact, Glory edge, Deposit drops, Withdraw Bunyip x 2, Run to summoning obelisk, Tele to new location.) As we are horribly off topic here, PC is ~90k an hour total maximum, DH on lvl 167 monkeys is a bit higher but much riskier

Guide to Extremely Fast Melee XP
Now try it with Dharoks? I was getting over 100k xp an hour on the lvl 167 guards with Dharoks upstairs with low 80s melee stats, using the altar and no prayer potions.

The Grand Exchange
I have a few questions reguarding our beloved GE; I'm trying to learn to merchant. 1) How often does it update prices? 2) Why sometimes when I sell an item for minimum price do I get much more back than the minimum, yet other times I buy items and get 'change'? What decides whether the buyer or the seller gets the cash from the difference in offers? 3) The limits on selling an item after you have bought it? I thought there was a 4 hour period from when you buy an item to when you can sell it; I just bought an obby shield for 310k and sold it immediately for 330k.

No worries, personally I don't like rapid as it makes me take a step or two towards Zilyana if you're shooting her from the corners :x

Thanks for your post. I prefer to have the extra +12 ranged defence, but maybe that's just me. Birds last for 34 mins(?), you're doing very well if you can last longer than 68 minutes solo as this would be up near 15 kills. I usually finish with about 5-10 mins left on my second bird. I take 12 doses of range and use one dose per kill (not using brew until after the round, why my HP is low in the minion killing pictures). Makes me feel more secure having "Safe mode" on. I'm terrified of my computer crashing while soloing (has happened before) For me (91 defence, around 2.5 minutes per kill), using any less than the 10% defence prayer results in me using more than 4 doses of brew per kill. I shall have to get back to you on the rapid heal prayer issue, I have a feeling that you may be correct ;) Each to their own. I suggest 60, but in practice I find myself running around with ~40 alot of the time, saving range pots. It is important to kill Bree/Growler off while one of them is still doing damage to you, stats boosters are the best for this. Why I used protect item, I no longer use a whip anyway :P
