  2. Now, how do I start this... Hello all, welcome to my blog. How cliché... So, this is my blog? Why is that a question, of course it is my blog! I will post all updates, goals, etc on this thread, you can wish me luck, or just have a nice chat here! [hide=A little about me...] My name is James, I live in Surrey, England, just south of London. I am 17 years of age and I am in Year 13 at school. I am studying Further Maths, Chemistry and Physics for my A levels and plan to study Physics or Natural Sciences at University. I play a lot of sport, primarily cricket, badminton and tennis however and usually this is 3-5 times a week. I listen to music all the time, my primary interest is Alternative music but I also like Post-hardcore, rock and some pop music. My favourite bands are The Strokes, Oasis, Bombay Bicycle Club, MGMT, Coldplay, Kasabian, Bloc Party, Muse, The Enemy and Foo Fighters. Not in any particular order really, but The Strokes are definately way way way ahead of the rest. If you have any alternative bands that I might be interested in then please do tell me![/hide] [hide=My Gaming History] When I was very young, I always enjoyed Physics, Maths and Computers. I didn't really start playing any sort of computer game until I was 6 or 7, when I got my first game, Roller Coaster Tycoon. Looking back on this, I was pretty good considering I was very young, I could easily complete all the missions and I had full parks, custom rollercoasters and everything. I was introduced to other Tycoon games like Monopoly Tycoon and Zoo Tycoon which I also enjoyed a lot, but it was all about winning and not about design for me, so my parks were never interesting! Soon after this I was introduced to my first RTS, Age of Empires. I used to think I was awesome, using cheats and everything to beat enemies, but now I think of it, I did what any child would have done. I enjoyed it but I never played it to win like my Tycoon games, just for fun. Then, in late 2002, I started playing RuneScape however, it just generally confused me so I left it alone and kept playing my Tycoon games, Age of Empires and console games. Then the Miniclip craze came and everyone played various games on it, and RuneScape was released on it, everyone started playing. However I already had my account so I had a small advantage over everyone, and kept playing as the craze died out. I finally got members on April 24th 2005 and as everyone does, they walk through that gate north of Falador and just explore. Pickpocketing the odd man that is scattered around, getting lost on White Wolf Mountain and all the rest. At the end of 2006, for Christmas, my parents knew I played an MMORPG, and they got me World of Warcraft. I quit RuneScape and played this, I got very good at it aswell, I was in a top 50 raiding guild in the world with some top 3 kills of some bosses. I had a PvP team and we were rated 2100 which was pretty decent, better than the majority but soon after this I lost interest in WoW in general and I found Aion. Aion was hyped as the WoW killer, from my standpoint, it looked very good and so I subscribed. This kept me entertained for a couple of months, but upon reaching 44 I realised this game was all about grinding, and in more so a much worse way than WoW or RuneScape. I went back to World of Warcraft and went back to one of my old guilds with a bunch of friends in it. I lost interest again and here I am today, playing RuneScape again. However, this is not the end of it. I found at at my school there is a PC Crew, they were well hidden and I was well known as the "WoW Nerd" at our school. Turns out there were 20 other people playing and they all kept well-hidden unlike me, but it's what I enjoy, why hide what I'm good at? This PC Crew introduced me to League of Legends, they were all classic FPS gamers, in your face, but I've never been interested in FPS. We now play League of Legends at a very high level together. However, since I'm an old WoW player, I know about Blizzard and I got into the BETA of Starcraft 2 with 4 extra keys, I gave these to my friends and this has reintroduced me to the RTS genre, which I am loving. I now own Starcraft 2 and am in most gold leagues, I'm not great but it's fun to play with friends most definately! I now play League of legends, Starcraft 2 and Runescape, but I am also in the World of Warcraft: Cataclysm BETA which is great fun, however I don't think I'll be going back to WoW just yet, I want to focus on my schoolwork.[/hide] The Blog Everytime I gain a level, or complete a quest, I will post it in the body of the thread. Yeah definately, it's because I've sort of found other games and I can't be bothered when like, it would all be wiped in a week.
  4. I would have mentioned these 3 but I think Kingduffy is just too slow. Erw J has very high combats but only 45M slayer. And Drumgun only trains what he likes to train and is in a same position as Erw J
  5. Yeah indeed, his slayer is ahead of his melees too. I think Zarfot is definately the main contender, he has expensive skills done, and to get 200M herblore he did overloads, he has so many to do slayer with it's [developmentally delayed]ed, he has 200M in prayer and construction too which is just insane. He does everything with everything, he alchs while fishing, superheats whilst smelting for ridiculous exp, he can get mining, magic and smithing up together with probably the same way S U O M I is doing it aswell. The problem I see with Zarfot, is that his downfall will come when he has to do dungeoneering and rely on other people a lot, unless he has a group he can rush with, otherwise I think he is definately the main contender ahead of Aasiwat and S U O M I. Also, I think S U O M I will meet his match when he has to runecraft for all his money, or do slayer for a profit. Even getting those to 200M, I doubt he will have enough for prayer, herblore and construction and he refuses to merchant so he will reach a climax. Other contenders, Dapledo, potentially, he is getting them up together much like Zarfot, but I'm not sure of his bankworth. I think he may be too far behind. Lan is definately a contender, he has 1.66B exp atm, 100k charms or so, 10k overloads, tons of potions in general, millions of runes, 750k cannonballs, basically, with what he has in his bank, he can 200M half the buyables and slayer. Oh did I mention he has 4B pure cash and 1B invested in merchanting? Aasiwat, haven't seen his bank but he's leading at the moment, just a little slow. S U O M I if he has the money. The way he is mining/smithing/mage at the moment, he will surely be a contender. I didn't think Paperbag could afford the expensive ones, but he's in with a shot if he can go at the pace he did with construction. Jdelacroix is a definate contender, but he has only done buyables so far, but even has the expensive ones done.
  6. He is doing woodcutting and fletching at the moment, see video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K7pkEFXrDmU

I fall into the same boat, I've never really cared that much except from about 950-999 at some point, probably because I was close to 1000. If someone makes a post, I don't really care if they have 10 or 1000 posts, it's all about the content.
  8. I did after we killed BQL HC 25-man. The buff is going up ridiculously fast. The game is boring, people failing on the same things.
  9. I beat everyone to it by quite a way :)
  10. The Elemental Workshop below Seers' Village holds many secrets, long forgotten by the world above. Even as you read this, adventurers are scouring the world of RuneScape to find the means to pass through the body door, eager as they are to unlock more of this ancient forge’s mysteries. Your efforts in the previous Elemental Workshop quest quite literally required a piece of your mind, but you’ll need it in a more typical, puzzle-solving capacity to get the contraption hidden behind the body door working again. Grasp the inner workings of this contraption, another of Vitruvius’s ingenious machines, and you will be able to show off your mental prowess with equipment made from the new body bar, and the ability to create body armour with elemental metals. And for those adventurers who cannot master the puzzle, only insanity awaits... Summary: Where to start The Elemental Workshop III: Seers' Village chapel. Requirements to start The Elemental Workshop III: Elemental Workshop II Level 20 Mining Level 33 Defence Level 33 Smithing In other news... You can now right-click the 'Now playing' song to add it to your music playlist. We've added three more areas where NPCs can now appear and offer to teleport you to the Fish Flingers D&D. These locations are Piscatoris, Shilo Village and Barbarian Village. You can now choose the colour of your split chat. In the in-game options menu, click the Split Private Chat check box and select a colour. We’ve overhauled a core part of our graphics engine to give it four times as much fidelity for modelling and animation; as a result you may notice that various aspects of the in-game graphics look smoother. Because this change has involved modifying many thousands of models and animations there’s a small chance certain combinations won’t look quite right. We encourage you to submit bug reports if you spot anything amiss. You may also find the game client takes slightly longer to update this week while it processes all the changes we’ve made. Skillcape and Emote Animations This week, we have made some animation improvements to standard and skillcape emotes. All standard emotes have now been ‘tweened’ (a process that blends together existing frames of animation). This process results in much smoother animations without changing how they look. We’ve applied this tweening process to all of the skillcape emotes too, as well as adding particle effects to them (things like twinkling lights and fire), giving you even more reason to show off your skillcapes. To see these particle effects, you will need to set the ‘Particles’ option in the Custom Graphics Options menu to ‘Medium’ or ‘High’. A handful of skillcape emotes have also been given an animation overhaul to bring them in line both with our original vision and the quality of the other skillcape animations. We’ve only done this for skillcape emotes that either weren’t fully representative of their skill or where we’d previously hit limitations with the game engine. The aim of this update was to ‘tween’ (smoothly blend or interpolate between animation frames) the skillcape emote animations to give them a more fluid and refined feel, and to add particles to embellish their appearance and make them all a bit more spectacular. We also wanted to give an overhaul to some of the emotes we felt were not quite consistent with the overall quality of the others. The more drastically changed skillcape emotes are: Attack: When we added the flame effect with particles to this emote we realised that the animation itself wasn’t giving the impact we wanted to really show off the Attack skill. We stuck to the original concept, but reworked the animation to make the poses more dynamic. Constitution: We didn’t quite achieve what we set out to do with the original Constitution emote, so we thought that now was the perfect opportunity to give you a new emote, much closer to our original vision. The original skillcape emote was restricted in terms of animation due to us reaching limits with the amount of detail we could put into the various models used in the emote. With these limitations in mind we were able to rethink how to approach the emote and give you a new animation with more finesse than the original. Defence: Much like with the Attack skillcape emote, we just felt that the animation for this emote was a little lacking and didn’t really give enough action for a combat skill. In the same vein as with Attack, we re-imagined the animation to be a more convincing representation of the skill. Summoning: Like with Constitution, this was another emote where we hit some limitations in the game engine, which meant we had to cut the idea back. We had to restrict the amount of action in the emote as the original animation didn’t live up to our initial expectations. To enable the update of this emote we had to cut one of the familiar heads from the animation, but this has allowed us to make it a lot smoother and add particles for a much more spectacular result. Thieving: We realised the one thing missing from the original Thieving skillcape emote was some actual thieving. Rather than having a bag of gold just appear on the player’s back, we wanted them to actually take the bag of gold in a suitably sneaky fashion, which is what the new emote does.
  11. Quel'dorei US he is playing on.

Me and my mate are playing as Protoss/Random (I'm random). We've found this sick tactic for when I spawn zerg, where he gets no more than 20 probes, and 1 base, I expand super fast at least 4 or 5 times. He gets 8 stargates and masses void rays. I keep sending him tons of minerals and gas, when he caps out at 200 supply, he goes in. We are usually about 10 minutes into the game at this stage. Invincible.
  13. For quite a while now, a lot of people have been reaching the money cap. I can remember when having 10M was out of this world and you could finally buy that blue partyhat you worked so hard for, but now, if you are max level and you don't have the money cap, then you aren't much since you can't buy all those 200M skills or that elysian shield you need to earn more money. The money cap has become an issue, a rather big one. Rares are traded for pure cash anymore, that was a long time ago when that was last happening. Party hats are worth so much that you can't just sell off a blue party hat, you have to downgrade it 6 times with mixtures of multiple partyhats, easter eggs, wergalis, crowns, onyx, elysians, divines, santas and masks until it's just become worse for you because you now have to sell all of this individually. This isn't because of the grand exchange either, I'm sure people would still buy one by cash, it's just that the other person has to had extortionate amounts of junk to the trade. In the near future, the money cap will affect more and more as the rate of inflation in RuneScape increases. The current money cap, as a lot of you remember it, is 2.147B, or 2,147,483,647gp. I'm sure a lot of you have seen Chessy018's video of , this is just one of the very successful merchanters out there. There are so many more people with max cash, especially maxed out people who need it for 200M in skills, Zarfot has already spent over 4B on 200M herblore and even more on 200M prayer. The cap has become a big problem for a lot of people, and will affect more and more as time goes on. Now, this number, is the signed 32bit integer (-1), supposefly because Andrew and Paul never thought that anyone would ever reach this amount of money. But now more people are reaching it, would you think it would be a good idea to switch to the 64bit integer if they had the chance, this number is much more leniant, in fact, this number is 9,223,372,036,854,775,807. 9.2 QUINTILLION, or 9223 Quadrillion. This number is 4,294,967,298 times bigger than the value we have at the moment. Now, I don't know much about programming in these languages, so I don't know how easy or hard this is, but, do you think it is a good idea, do you think that it would get too confusing with such large values of cash?
  14. Come out of the closet then, you are taking your time about it! And get kicked out of my house? So you aren't denying it? :P
  15. Im mostly this except i think im more Nostalgic Old-school player EVERYTHING was better back in the day. People were nicer, game was funner, etc etc etc. Nevermind the terrible graphics, the broken gameplay and the community that was even WORSE then it is now. These types of players will overlook any bad stuff just because they want to prove that it was better back then also your opinion is invalid if you think otherwise. I think Runescape more then any other game is flooded with these guys World of Warcraft has more. Way more. Trust me. I'd probably say I'm the depressed sociopath. I always use full grammar, use "lol" on extremely rare ocassions and usually use "haha". I always have my private chat on friends, with public on hide, accept-aid off, etc.
  16. Well I see people trying to buy Purple Phats for Mast Set, 1 santa and 50M Cash, and people are saying nice offer etc. So I don't see why a purple is within my grasp with those items.
  17. I have enough cash to buy the partyhat, and that's about it. And I don't merchant at all. I quit 2 years ago and got those rares when they were worth a total of 40m.
  18. Currently, I have 2 santas, a mask set, and X amount of cash. I can get myself a Purple Partyhat. At the current economic climate, what is better in the long run if I'm aiming for a higher partyhat?
  19. Come out of the closet then, you are taking your time about it!
  20. As long as they'd program it in, you need a silver screen monitor (Which are not available at the moment, the closest to this are the 3D ready silver screen Panasonic TVs which are 55" and 3mm thick). And the RealD glasses. But yeah, I'd like this too if I could get my hands on a monitor with a silver screen.
  21. I'm from just south of London, so I'll just step in here. First, get a day pass for the underground, you will spend your days travelling without one, with one, even though they are busy, and can be pretty confusing, it's great. If you have an iPod Touch or iPhone you can get an app which will show you everything you need to know about the London Underground and if you have 3G internet or have access to WiFi, which there are some places in London, it will tell you if there are any delays or closures too. National History Museum - As said before, this place is amazing, I'm a sciency person and despise history, but I love this place. I've been 4 times and I haven't even seen everything there yet. Science Museum (Get an IMAX viewing something, trust me. It's not like your American IMAX) - There is so much to do, you will run out of things to do, you can go here all day, and still not have seen 90% of it. The London Dungeons You can get through this in a few hours, maybe one or two, since it's not that big, but once again, well worth a visit. If you are one of those touristy people, then do the London Eye, it is expensive, but... might be worth it if you don't plan on coming back. It's one of those "You have to do this" things. Lunch at Covent Garden. There are LOADS of street acts and there are a bunch of great places to eat here, HIGHLY recommended. Shopping down Bond Street & Regent Street. The most expensive places you will ever go, but have a browse anyway, there are such a variety of shops here. Even with the extortionate prices, you will still walk out having bought something. Pubs - It's Britain, pubs are everything, if you haven't been to a pub and you have been to Britain, you are missing out. This is about all I can think of off the top of my head, if I think of any more things I will post it.

So I've been reading up a bit more, and apparently, to do any type of ILD (Induced Lucid Dream) you need very good dream recall, so you would be needing a dream journal, when you can remember 1, maybe 2 dreams per night then you can start doing ILDs. This is why it doesn't work for most people. If you really want to lucid dream then you will need a dream journal and be able to keep recalling dreams. The lucid dream technique on the first post is a WILD (Wake induced lucid dream) . Another technique is a MILD (Mnemonic induction of a lucid dream) This is where, throughout the day you do reality checks and constantly say to yourself that you will go to sleep, have a dream, and remember that you are dreaming. This means that you constantly have it on your mind, and 5-10 minutes before you sleep, you need to have a set phrase that you say constantly, while thinking of nothing else at all, where you relax and make it the last thing on your mind before you sleep. Then the next time you are in a dream, you should be able to recognise it, do a reality check or 2, and then realise you are lucid. Some reality checks include, breathing through your nose with your nose held shut. In a dream you can do this because in real life, your body is paralysed. The mishapen hand, where you may have more or less fingers, or your hand is mishaped. Or the digital watch, where there will be large time jumps over the course of 10 seconds, of say, 8 hours. This only happens with digital watches. The switch flip, in a dream, switches do bugger all most of the time. So, if you really want to try this, get a dream journal, get a pen, and keep them by your bed. Then when you wake up, write down as much of the dream/dreams you had you can remember.

Just keep trying different techniques. There are plenty of YouTube videos on it you can watch.
