Going on leave - back again
Will be away from forums and probably have no access to a computer until December 8th. This includes #clans on SwiftIRC, so please contact other ops for help there (Cowman_133 can change access). :) Laikrob.

Clan topic of the week
Those stopped being posted long before you were no longer a mod to be fair, but yeah. We do have hot topics included in the Clan Chronicle (several of the user made topics), but I see how it could be a good idea to run something weekly. :)

99 Fletch & 2376 Total
Congratulations! Well done, and what a skill to max out with.

Rocktail
50k exp/h sounds about right, but I don't pay much attention. My exp rates are not trustable, as my attention span is horrid. YouTube, forums, IRC, Skype, work... I do use a Granite Lobster.

Rocktail
Only 97 Fishing, so I'll skip the first two. 3) There are safespots, but as the fishing spots move, you're not guaranteed to find an appropriate fishing spot in a safe place all the time. 4) They used to be a few weeks ago, when a friend bought them. Otherwise, they are not that slow to get yourself. 5) You only catch Rocktails in Rocktail shoals (fishing spots). The two types have different fishing spots.

Best place to kill imps?
Near the Ardougne monastery, and GWD. Both are good Imp places, and I have seen people hunt for Imp champion scrolls there before (and now),

Dangerous CWA? Overlooked and undervalued?
If they added at least a (reduced) chance like on PvP for getting loot, it would make more sense for clans to choose this option. As it is now, it doesn't really appeal to as many as it should. No matter how many clan rules there are against looting, it happens in all clans, and it is undeniably an incentive for PvP wars today. Hell, if I can get my "expenses" covered for my next few wars in 1 drop by taking 5 seconds to pick up a corrupted item, then why not? That saves me spending hours making money to pay for sets, and I can do other beneficial things for the clan instead, such as recruiting, making events or other things not measured in gp or amount of street cred earned. I'm all for small adjustments to the Dangerous CWA to make it more appealing, while at the same time avoid the RWTers.

99 Attack
Congratulations, hun! :^_^: So sorry I missed it (you know I tried hehe), but I'm looking forward to seeing you parade that cape. :) Lovely to see you more often in game anyway. Hugs, Laikrob aka AjiDaWun

20-Oct-2009 - Ardougne Achievement Diary
Actually, Within the Light was not a master quest, and the Woodcutting rebalance was for medium to high levels (Eucalyptus/Vines). That leaves two high level updates, one of which was nerfed because of people who coudn't grasp the concept of training skills = better rewards, and that was the Herblore update. Living Rock Caverns was definitely a high level update that worked as planned. I don't know any high level who has complained about that. :) I don't see why "You people" with 10+ 99's shouldn't comment on this. If nothing else, those are the ones with the specific knowledge, and even tips about training the skills required. Ironically, the fancy reward goes in the cape slot. :^_^: This baffles me a little. If you are talking to the "elite" players who can actually do this update, why do you also assume they don't realise how hard it was to get the required levels? I am relatively sure that Jagex didn't hand out 7k antique 93 Summoning lamps. The incentive is the very good, and I have heard a lot of people in my clan's clan chat talking about getting those last Summoning or Smithing levels, or training Thieving. Let me see if I understand you here... You want the definition of elite content changed and adapted to your player group, so that you can still enjoy the full content? What about the players who think those stats are out of reach? Just because you signed up on Scapeboard or RS before others, it doesn't make you more right than others. It just means you found the game/forums earlier. Talking about people with high(er) stats as "99 capers" makes you sound a little disrespectful aswell, which isn't very becoming. Some of us have been around for a while, others discovered RS and Tip.It later. It has little to do with this debate. Laikrob (currently carrying the crappy RSN AjiDaWun), RS player who enjoys most updates, no matter who they are aimed at.

Three New Global Moderators!
Promotion to global "just" means they are ready to moderate in more forums. They are doing exactly the same as before, but are able to help out in more areas. Congratulations, well deserved! :^_^:

DI Closes
Sorry to see DI close, and it was a shock. The choice to close it? I personally disagree, as many of the members and ranks do. Gamerr's post sums up a lot, but I do think that the players are more to blame than Jagex here. Both the "I want instant gratification and I want it now!" type that came in with MiniClip and the like, and the increased number of players - and in the end increased number of clans - to be more exact. The more clans you can choose from, the less loyalty you need to have for your clan. This what leads to the lowering of standards in the first place.

Going on leave - back again
Hiya, I'll be on leave from clan staff and moderating for the next few months to take care of some real life stuff. Just posting here to inform you so that you can PM other clan staff members if you need assistance, and to let you know that I'll be around in IRC for social reasons only (and to add/remove ranks, and whip users if needed). Y_Guy will take care of the Clan Chronicle. Enjoy a few months of freedom, you'll see me around as a normal user in mod disguise from time to time. ;) Laikrob.

Herb prices and Miscellania
Thanks so much for posting this. I use my kingdom for Herbs and Tree Seeds, and find it interesting how the profits change. Personally I sell the Tree Seeds and use the Herbs, and I love the fact that the Tree Seeds/Maples/Nests almost always pay for my Herbs, meaning free exp. Can't argue with that. Also, I have to second Chris' advice on using Gloves of Silence when picking Phoenix feathers. It helps noticable.

Oh, you're OCD too?
Bank and inventory perfectly organised, except 4 lines of frequently used stuff. I keep forgetting about the bank search function anyway, so I need to keep it organised. (When will we get more bank space anyway?)

New Prayer Icon
Tip.It's clan newspaper Clan Chronicle from August brought a Jagex Moderator interview, which - among other things - revealed that a Prayer update will happen this year. It is specifically mentioned in question 10, for those not interested in reading the whole interview. (There are a few other interesting thing mentioned aswell.)

Tip.it vs RSC
We have issued 1 temp ban for clan related issues. We aren't afraid to give out more temporary or even permanent bans if needed (and some troll-a-bes have gotten warnings preparing them for this unless they change their posting), but we would of course rather resolve issues without choosing the easy way out. As has been mentioned to death, there have been some unfair bannings in Tip.It's clan sections in the dark past many years ago, and we will certainly make sure that we can back up our actions with facts and evidence. We do warn via PM, and some times have formal or informal conversations via IRC, in game or MSN to work out problems. While it might not seem like we deal harshly enough with those users that others view as a problem, we hope and think that this might help some of those user to post more constructively. Removal of new high level potions in PvP
I hope that Jagex does follow this topic, because a lot of great posts and points have been made. As mentioned before, I am usually positive about updates, and as most other RS players who also PvP, play minigames, monster hunt and slay I was thrilled about this one. To go back on it because it was unfair to people who don't want to put an effort into raising skills or money... Well, safe to say, that could have been handled better. In example by not changing it at all, which seems to be what the majority wanted - and I would like to point out that most of the people who didn't want it changed don't even have the levels to utilise the potions yet. In other words, they don't want it just to have an upper hand in PvP right now, but by removing a large part of the incentive you have made most people change their minds about wanting to train their Herblore now. Which is a shame, because it is a great and useful skill, especially if the original updates were kept. Untradeable content as reward for reaching a high level in a skill (and the term "high level" has been pushed after a few updates that have made quite a few skills faster and easier to train, which is not a complaint, but just wanted to point out that 70-75 is no longer a high level in many of the Stealing Creation affected skills) would be great, and has been requested by the players for years. Players, who when they first asked for it were lvl 50's and now are way past 100 Cmb. Effort is not a bad thing, and you can train most skills without money if you train smart - or if you train it alongside a skill that earns you money. If players managed to max out 2-3 years ago - all credit to them - with the higher level of difficulty that had, then why would getting 90+ in one skill now be such a utopia and unfair? High Herblore was never a prerequisite to compete in PvP words, just gave you a bonus. Just like Dragon Claws or Armadyl Godswords. I don't own an AGS, but I have high Herblore. If I had sold all the herbs & second ingredients instead of mixing them into potions, I could have afforded one easily. It was my choice not to buy a Godsword instead, just like it's the PKer's choice to give priority to the expensive damaging weapon. (Which, as I have already mentioned, they won't lose if they PK in +1 BH worlds unless they are unskilled or really unlucky.)
-
Ohh mad. so you're going for 99?
I like the pretty numbers. <3: But I agree with elishot, a lot of people just train to 99 exactly, then never train that skill again. (Look at some of the lower ranked maxed out people.) I mean, you don't have to love every skill equally, but if you dislike it so strongly that you won't train it in a year or more... Well, you might have lost sight of the whole "it's supposed to be fun" perspective of the game. Not that I want to tell others how to play, but there's a fine line between goals and obsessions.

Removal of new high level potions in PvP
This sums up my initial reaction aswell. The "risk and reward" reasoning doesn't work either, since we keep the 3(+1) most valuable items when dying in RS, and 1 if in a +1 BH world. A Godsword or your Dragon Claws will always be your most valuable item, and in most cases you can only lose it from really bad luck or a lack of pking skill. I also find it amazing that everyone keeps talking about the cost of Herblore, when you can slay for or thieve the herb seeds (and get cmb/slay or thieve exp for that) and farm your own herbs, in addition to killing Aberrant Spectres, Banshees, Chaos Dwarves or other wonderful herb dropping NPC's. And yes, it's even possible to get your own 2nds if you put some time into it - I recommend having good friends and voice chat for repetitive task entertainment. I can't say I hate Herblore, but I do agree that the Magic potion needed to be rebalanced. And yes, they had done a great job balancing the other potions - I love the Super Duper Sets already. Unfortunately I fear the "temporary" bit. Usually I'm not negative about updates, but I don't believe in negotiating with terrorists (aka Rants forums on RSOF). :-? I wish they had solved this differently and listened to all the people who loved this update. It's not just "high levels" - how I hate that expression - that want to keep the original update, but also users who finally had an incentive to train Herblore. I'll be having those poisoned weapons back, and those smithed rune items. Oh, and those godswords that have to be smithed together, I'll need those too. And that food, too. Oh and those prayer potions... Yeah... I think someone forgot that the milk doesn't come from the supermarket, but the cow. The combat triangle and the combat levels would not hurt from being balanced. As several already have mentioned, the reasons people can make combat pures that actually work, is that the combat levels don't display the character's real strength. Also, defence means cabbage. My opinion is that well rounded characters should be more rewarded - pure accounts already have the advantage of focusing only on few skills, leaving them more time to acheive the goals they need for whatever their purpose is (nothing wrong with pures, just saying).

45 seconds.... Thats nothing
The same is the case here.
