1. What a surprise, a world 28 riot in the duel arena! :P EDIT: It's getting insanely huge; I think jagex has to step in soon before this gets out of control.
2. I would expect a riot, or several on this update. Let's hope it doesn't go that far again.
3. Everything about this update is excellent, except two things. I don't think it was necessary to dramatically lower the amount of gp players can stake in a 1 vs 1 match. Stakers who were winning blue partyhats are now down to 3k per 15 minutes, that's very dissapointing. Yes- they can use the clan duel arena for higher stakes- but even then it takes several minutes to get into a match. And another thing; the ranks are a good way to keep track of "who's the best dueler," but I don't think it was really necessary either. The duel arena is all about grabbing some armor and staking items out of your bank, finding a willing opponent in a few minutes, and winning/losing the stake. However, since there are now rank limits on the four clan arena matches, I don't think this will work very well. Other than that, it was a creative, and good update. :)
4. It would be a great recruitment drive :) , but as this is part of an event I don't think the mods will allow such a topic. However, there are alternatives. First, try to convince everyone you can to set their signature as the official MSSW3 one. If tip.iters see tons of people with the same signature they'll know we mean business. Second, invite your clan, your friends, your clan's allies, your friend's clan, just everyone you know. I've already convinced several people to change their signatures and I am awaiting several replies to my invations from different clans on the RSOF and other forums.
5. Of course they'll find out. That's something we can't avoid, news spreads like wildfire in runescape(especially tip.it), I wouldn't be surprised if RSC already knew what we were up to. But even then it doesn't matter. We have the ability to mass recruit like crazy because of our active and growing community. RSC could never even come close to matching us if we organised some sort of mass recruit program.
6. My, my! There are too many grumpies on this thread! This isn't about making money(well, maybe a little :P ), it's about taking a challenge and having fun. If you're interested, I took a similiar challenge a few months back, called the "Egg challenge." I started out with a single egg though, picked up in the lumbridge chicken farm. The rules are: No skilling for money, no picking up items off the ground, no accepting items for free, and must be done in purely f2p worlds. My first goal was a rune platebody, but then I decided to go for full rune. Well, halfway there is still quite an accomplishment for me! :) Current bank of Egg__trader:
7. The prices have been fairly steady since like 2004, now all of a sudden they rise?, the prices are actually being pushed up by the macroers believe it or not. Steady since 2004? In 2004 yews were going for 500+ if my memory serves me correctly. Then last year they were down to 250. I could be wrong about that though, but I dont think I am :) Magics on the other hand HAVE been steady for some time. But then again, anyone cutting magics for money must be pretty poor anyway so you can understand why they need to jack up the prices. Yews were 300 each in 2004, i was cutting them for my money back then. The 2004 rise I can't clarify, however the huge loss in early 2007 I was actually there to witness. Imagine varrock world 1, half of the sellers are autoers, all selling yew logs, nothing else. They reached their all time low at 230. I prefer to remain optimistic; infact, I'll probably be buying bucketloads of yew logs soon and see if I can profit off this sudden raise. Unfortunately, fletchers are suffering, as well as alchers. But don't worry- yew logs will reach their peak and plunge. And if that doesn't get 'em, the Grand Exchange certainly will. I imagine they'll stabilize at around 330ea.
8. Add the name to the ignore list. That may work for a bit, but eventually your ignore list is going to get full. I have personally seen over 40 different spammers on lightning chat, and I assume there are several more. For the jumping technique- there is a way to counter it. Tell the admins to keep their cursor under whatever letter in the chatlist the spammer's name starts with. Once the spammer joins, the admin quicky kicks him/her. This can be done with fairly decent reflexes. Of course, this can put a lot of unecessary stress on the admins. I wouldn't mind an update that will either making kicking periods longer or give admins the ability to kick people even when they are not in the chat. :) Or make infinate storage on the ignore list!
9. That's true. Tip.it may not have some of the most experienced pkers, but hell, we can probably mass recruit faster than any other fansite out there! :P All we really need to do is organise a recruiting program; we could get a group of users to convince another set of users to join tip.it, and in turn, they convince others, and the cycle goes on and on until we have literally hundreds of people willing to fight for tip.it. All we need is hundreds of opts(AKA lemmings :) ) and we can slaughter everyone. Imagine a massive wave of 500+ green capes, white dots covering the minimap, pouring down on everyone else like an army of ants overtaking a powerful beetle. And, as ns stated, we would avoid a lot of flaming. :P
10. True words. Everyone get this out to your friends, your clan, your friend's clan, your clan's allies, your clan's allie's allies! EDIT: Valerie is coming! Run for the hills! :P
11. Those outfits up there sure are amazing! Some of them are going to be quite hard to beat. :P
12. We will need to work out a time and all of that good stuff, we should probably bring this into PM though. That would be an excellent idea! Perhaps we could organise this so that we can have several clans attending. I think it could be a really sucessful event. :P
13. At first there was nothing. Then, in a burst of light, came the Earth. It was composed of the elements, the metals, the soil, the sand, the seas. Yet it remained barren. No life existed on the lonely planet until Mother Earth arrived. In her time she created everything that lived. She created trees, plants, and animals; animals with two legs, three legs, four legs, and even one hundred. Animals that were furry, soft, round, and smooth. Animals that purred, growled, sang, and breathed. Among the first creatures Mother Earth created was the mighty cheetah. With a stroke of her finger, the first cheetah spawned in the rolling grasslands of the Sahara. She made another of the opposite sex. The cheetahs grew to be a keen race. They learned to hunt, run faster than any animal on Earth, and catch their prey with a single deadly pounce; the cheetahs were superior hunters. They also became good friends with Mother Earth A cheetah would ask her one day ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâ¦Ã¢â¬ÅMother, we seek trees for resting, for we grow tired of the huntings.̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬ÃâÃ
14. I remember a case several months ago of two tenagers threatening a younger one with a knife in real life. They both made the younger teenager give several items of value in runescape to the other teenager's accounts. I've heard about this Megan case also; though I have never read the full article, and this is truly sadder than the news. I hope runescapers from all over will learn from this article and think twice about what they say in runescape.
15. Tipit was very unorganized last year, if i remember correctly. True, true. Tip.it, I would say were the second most unorganised. I just mentioned runehq because I remember visiting their meeting place and being bombarded with @ spammers, people screaming they wanted to be leader, ect., ect. I remember in the fight too, runehq lost many members when they were running. I hope this year they'll decide on an official leader before the event. Runehq has the huge numbers, if they just got themselves more organised they could have a great chance at being the winning site.
16. I definately won't miss this! :P I've attended both MSSW's in the past and they have each been a huge sucess. It was very fun pounding hundreds of people from other sites, this is certainly a unqiue event and should not be missed. I'll be updating my profile to get as much tip.iters as possible! 8-)
17. I'll probably invite Tal_shiar to join tip.it's side. Although to be honest tip.it is going to have some big competition with RSC particularly(runehq doesn't seem to be that organised :P ). I found it funny last year when half of the tip.iters wanted to ally with runehq, half of them didn't, half of the RHQers wanted to ally with tip.it, and half of them didn't. :)
18. Good scenarios(although I think some were just a wee bit off :P ). I'm glad to see more players are contributing to possible scenarios that will be causes of the GE, tip.iters can use these to their advantage and make some nice profit. :) I have yet to see a really good, though-out rares GE thread though. I might make one this afternoon, I think I have some pretty good ideas. :)
19. Ah good old Qeltar with his parent-child safety articles. :P I probably would have know it was you anyway, as this sentence gave it away(you always seem to start your articles with something like this): Other than that I agree with the points made in the article. I believe I contributed to that old thread several months ago, so I don̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t see a need to go digging it up just to slap down a few details. I also admire Qeltar for directly counterarguing one of jagex̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s and a large handul of player̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s beliefs- that runescape does have a large bit of educational content- even though he is a runescape player himself. :P
20. It̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s a logical prediction, and I admire that, but I personally don̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t think that will happen. I own a rare and know how the rare market works. It̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s really amazed me that the rares market is the most evolved, and yet most unpredictable market. Look at how they have evolved; people have actually taken control of the market far enough to create ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâ¹Ãârare holidays,̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢ in which a certain rare(s) dramatically increases in price during it̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s holiday period. Masks increase over Halloween, santas christamas, pumpkins easter, ect. Why? Because they just do. That̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s the only reason. Players raise the price simply because it has evolved into a ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâ¹Ãâtradition.̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢ The constant rise of rares is very similar to this too. Why do rares rise? Simply because they do; players raise rares because everyone else does. Rares have also taken many ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâ¹Ãâblows̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢ that it sucessfully dodged. Construction was one; apparently jagex had attempted, and even admitted later to remove a large amount of cash from the economy. Not only did the lack of cash have a potential affect on rares, the fact that players now had an alternative way to show off their wealth(via POHs) was another potential blow. Rares survived, though. Infact, I noticed they had a slightly dramatic increase in price after the construction hype was over. With the GE, though, I do not know if jagex intentionally created it to lower rare prices. But if they did- I don̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t think they will find much success. One player described the rares market once as ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâ¦Ã¢â¬Åa monster jagex has created and now cannot destroy.̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬ÃâÃ
21. Very nice opts, looked like an awesome war! :P Good job Bloodshed.
22. Good job And thank you for cropping your pictures(unlike a few other annoying ones I've seen =P )!
