1. Well said, well said. Personally, I like slayer the way it is. I just do like harrington; actually do the assignments my masters give me. Consider this: All that time you are burthroping assignments, you could have gotten some great slayer experience from the first monster durael assigned you. Slayer, I think, was meant to be hard and annoying to train. The good side of slayer, though, is that at higher levels you can fight better monsters with considerably better drops(abyssal demons, dark beasts, ect.).
2. This is the stupidest, most juvenile post I've read in awhile. Gtfo... Oh, and dont call other players "noobs" in your sig when your level 92 combat either. So since hes only level 92 if a 126 came up to you and called you a noob you would have to take it because he was a higher level then you? I don't know many 126's who still play, who have been playing longer than me... So no, I don't. Besides... Once you get above about 115 combat, its rather implied that you didn't just recently get acquainted with the game. In which case - through my eyes, at least - it comes down to how long you've stuck beside it. Theres plenty of level 100- who have played longer than you. Someone can easily pc an acc to maxed stats, surpassing 115 combat in less than a month with some no lifing. Your level has nothing to do with being a noob. I think he meant the 'average' player, I don't think he specifically trying to state that all level 115+'s have played for a very long time. Your statements are correct though; there are many players below level 100 who have played the game longer than some 115+'s, as there are some who can achieve triple digit combat levels in a month's time.
3. Will this be the day that food heals wounds instead of time!? Sharks swim in shallow water!? Trees grow in less than a day!? No! It's can't be... it's ... it's ... a game! :P On the serious side of life... Food is needed as a fast and realiable source while engaged in NPC or PvP combat. You can't exactly wait 10 days for your cut to heal on your right arm. :P Why, without instant healing there would be virtually no combat in games! Oh and hp does slowly replinish over time.
4. I can tell you nearly everyone who "quits" from runescape is usually back in a few months(sometimes longer, though). It's that strange irresistible urge to come back, chat with old friends, excitedly read the weekly updates, all that good stuff. Unfortunely I see many people have quitting drop parties only to return a few months later with absolutely nothing, forcing them to work up like a youngster fresh off tutorial island! Although I've seen some people who actually enjoy the old feeling of starting poor and working up. :-k
5. Hey baalboy! :) Did you test your theory in several worlds? How about at different times? Perhaps you just came across a case of bad luck; though you could be right. Most of the pkers trying to kill you while rcing are just taking a small break from regular pking; 90% of rc pkers you will see actually pk are regular pkers. They might get bored after not seeing anyone to kill their level, perhaps, and make their way over to the zamorak mage to see if they can get in a rcer kill. If you pay attention to how long rc pkers stay it's usually 1-2 trips. Most of them come and go very fast; you could see an entire group of pkers your level attempting to kill you on one trip, but the next trip the area could be completely deserted. It's a common misconception some runecrafters make when they are usually angry at rc pkers. They blame them for having no life, doing something that gets you very little profit, or just staying there for hours every day trying to win some d'hide. Truth is- most of them try to kill a few rcers their level and then leave- usually out of boredom or frustration. There are some, though, that do rc pk for profit. These people are the stereotypical rc pkers and do actually stay near the zamorak mage more than regular pkers. From experience, they have either been low level(apparently it is a good money-maker for them) or very high level teleblockers(who make a very good gp per hour teleblocking and snaring). I brought this up because I knew that somewhere in this topic would be one or several rude/stereotypical remarks towards rc pkers- those types of remarks always seem to pop up on these topics. If you look a few posts above mine you can already see one.
6. Yes I suppose it would be nice, but you can already guess how long the poison is going to last by how much you are getting hit of it. The pattern goes some what like this: 6,6,6,6,5,5,5,5,4,4,4,4,3,3,3,3,2,2,2,2,1,1,1,1.
7. you can craft bloods now at the abyss Since when? :P Oh and adding on to the vampire suggestion- perhaps these new quests that lead up to the blood altar could be part of the on-going vampire series?
8. Good suggestion, you have my support. I particularly liked how you didn't suggest completely eliminating randoms like some other ranters out there. What you've got is a good ol' fashion original idea. This would definately make randoms a lot less frustrating! :) Smither- Getting rid of dialogs wouldn't benifit macros. All they have to do is literally click "click to continue" several times; something easily programmed in a few minutes. I don't think eliminating the dialogs in random events will drastically benifit autoers.
9. Reminds me of a time an (apparently) hungry vampire spotted me planting my watermelons. He decided to come over for a bite(make that several), and when I tried to run to the west he followed me all the way past the gravestones and a little further! By the way, farming just had an update; you can now 'fast pay' farmers to look after your crops(not major, but definately helpful). I don't think jagex hates farmers, sometimes they just spot areas in the game that didn't go the way originally planned. Perhaps they wanted to have the generals leave their room, but an error in the script made the generals lay idle in their lairs; perhaps they realized this recently and fixed it.
10. Ok, the first stage of getting him interested is letting him do it on his own. To him runescape is probably just "another game." To most dedicated runescapers who play, they have discovered it is far beyond that and have loved and played the game. You have to give him time on his own to see if he likes the 'feel' of the game or not. Never try to force anything on him at this stage; if you feel you want to say something don't use a forceful manner. For example, you wouldn't want to say something like "Hey you should stop killing men! I know a better way to get money!" They usually aren't doing it for pure profit, rather just exploring the game. I suppose you could call the first stage "exploration." Once he's past this stage(usually when he knows his way around f2p runescape without looking at the map at all), he should have a good understanding of runescape. Only then can you spill all the secrets of runescape; high level armor, high level weapons, super hard quests, awesome rewards, cool minigames.
11. Wow you've really convinced me. All the previous topics I've seen suggest the blood altar have suggested easy quests and requirements; but you just go all out! 85 rcing, love it! Wilderness, I love it! Untradable and really hard to get blood talisman, love it(although I would use the abyss ;) )! May I suggest, though, having a series of quests that take place in the wilderness? I would suggest 3 of them, medium requirements, but as hard and annoying as MEP2. The wilderness, after all, would be the ultimate place to hold a dangerous quest. No programmed NPCs, you're up against strategy-using, smart pkers! I would definately love a quest(s) in the wilderness. Very good suggestion. =D>
12. Sorry, I just can't agree with this idea. Most of the points I was going to state have already been up my smither.
13. Awesome suggestion, I just have one thing that I think needs to be changed though. A lesser demon is fairly easy to kill. Something that a level 80+ can kill in a few hits and drops an average of 253gp 100% every time seems like a bit too much. Mentioned earlier in this topic, there would just be an alarming about of money pouring in to the economy. I would suggest 1/2 of their level to 1 1/2. The bosses are a little off too. I think something like 1x to x10 their level would work. Oh and on a side-note; killing monsters is not meant to be profitable. Regular monsters are more like a balance between drops and exp; you get decent drops and decent exp. Pest control, though, for example, gives you lots of exp, but has a poor "drops"(or reward). The complete opposite, bosses, are definately not a good thing to train on yet drop many of the rare weapons, armor, and rare/valuable items that can be sold for millions.
14. Yes, the master farmers, stalls, and monster drops are all great for seeds, but I really find them all either very boring or slow. Yes, I am aware there are some really good seed-dropping monsters, but there are very few of them. This is why I am suggesting a minigame simliar to the Sorceress' garden. In SG, you can get lots of high level herbs very fast, as long as you have a high-medium theiving level. This new minigame could be similar to the SG, but perhaps it could involve the agility skill. We haven't seen and agility minigame in a while, so how about one now? There could be a huge maze-like area with four stories. Each story, like the SG will require a certain agility level to access. The first one could require 1, the second 20, the third 45, and the fourth 70. On each level(or story) you would enter in a side and try to get to the middle where a huge bag of seeds lay. The mazes would be entirely agility based, with such things like log-crossings, rope swings, sharp blades, long jumps, handholds, ect. Once one reached the center he could either loot the bag in the middle or take a portal next to the bag. If the player chose to loot the bag, he would recieve an assortment of different seeds. The amount and type of seeds you recieve would be based upon which level you looted them from. If you chose to loot the bag then a trap would activate, with no damage toward you, and teleport you to the beginning of the maze all the way down to the first level. Each loot could get you anything from 10 seeds to 100 seeds. OR you could advance to the next level by taking the portal. If you have the agility level, you could then do the next maze on the next level. The fourth and final level could include seeds such as poison ivy, yew/magic seeds(rare? maybe we want to keep them with trees?), and other rare seeds. Now the chance of getting these high level seeds is fairly low, you could recieve a handful of rotten tomato seeds, but the high level seeds would only be looted from the fourth level. Of course, the third level would give a slightly lower change of getting good seeds, the second following, and finally the first. Below are four lists I made of the average loot you would recieve on each level. The average is detirmed by taking records of several trips, adding them together and dividing by the number of trips. Remember just because the magic tree seed, for example, isn't listed doesn't mean you can't recieve it. It's only the chance that increases per level, the rewards are entirely random though. By the way, magic seeds would be quite rare. First level Approximate time to do level: 2 minutes Average seed loot: *6 tomato *3 potato *1 tarromin *2 marrentill *2 nasturtium *4 rosemary *5 marigold *8 barley *4 hammerstone *2 jute *1 apple *5 redberry *3 cadava berry *2 dwell berry Second level Approximate time to do level: 5 minutes Average seed loot: *10 tomato *5 potato *1 harralander *3 tarromin *4 nasturtium *6 rosemary *7 marigold *11 barley *3 hammerstone *4 jute *1 yanillian *1 orange *1 apple *5 redberry *3 cadava berry *2 dwell berry *1 cactus Third level Approximate time to do level: 9 minutes Average seed loot: *7 sweetcorn *2 strawberry *3 harralander *1 rannar *3 tarromin *1 irit *4 woad *1 limpwurt *5 marigold *1 wildblood *3 krandorian *4 yanillian *1 willow *3 acorn *1 orange *3 cactus Fourth level Approximate time to do level: 15 minutes Average seed loot: *4 watermellon *4 wildblood *6 krandorian *4 rannar *2 avantoe *1 dwarf weed *1 torstol *6 limpwurt *7 strawberry *13 sweetcorn *1 yew *5 acorn *1 palm *4 apple *1 curry *1 poison ivy *2 jangerberry *7 dwellberry Getting all the way to the fourth level would take approximately 15 minutes. The maze size increasing with every new level. The time you get to the levels though will obviously depend on your agility level. Doing the fourth level 2 times, making an hour, can get you this many seeds(average remember, this is exactly like the barrows, it's random!): *16 watermellon *16 wildblood *24 krandorian *16 rannar *8 avantoe *4 dwarf weed *4 torstol *24 limpwurt *28 strawberry *52 sweetcorn *4 yew *20 acorn *4 palm *16 apple *4 curry *4 poison ivy *8 jangerberry *28 dwellberry Also- when you fail you fall into the dark pit below and are instantly teleported back in front of the obstical you failed, taking a certain amount of damage(with the easy way to get back, I'm thinking 5-10 damage everytime, random). Taking damage will balance things out in this minigame, as the seed rewards will be considerably better than master farmers. As for the location- I'm thinking something like an off-map area, like the SG. I don't see any room to squeeze in this monsterous maze on the map. Perhaps the master farmers in dranor could teleport you there? Perhaps the witch in dranor village, since she is a magic user?
15. Really creative ideas, I like how the ring damages/poisons you after use! Nonetheless, every idea needs some improvement, so here are my suggestions: This ring increases the rate at which you recover hitpoints by 2.5x, it lasts for 300 hp recovered then is destroyed, when it melts you become poisoned and the poison starts at 6. Very good, except I don't think it should hit as high as 6. Perhaps 2, because those constant 6,6,6,5,5,5,4,4,4...'s can add up eventually. You'll be in big trouble especially if you're not prepared. Love the idea though. This ring allows you to run through 300% energy, then explodes and hits you for half your current health. I don't think an additional 200% energy will be worth it, considering how much it hits and the time it makes to make jewelry. Either increase the additional energy to 1000%, or don't make it hit you at all in the end and make it an additional 400%. This ring gives you 20% increased attack and strength but 10% decreased defence while you wear it, the effect is like a black mask so the skills don't literally show an increase, but while you wear it, the monsters you kill will drop nothing, doesn't work against players and is destroyed after 150 monsters. A kill count will appear like at barrows while wearing. Too high of bonuses. I would suggest putting in more 10% decreases, perhaps even 15%, to magic, prayer, or range. If not then lower the strength and attack bonuses to 10% each.
16. You should definately check out this topic. After reading that I just sold my RoW.
17. I think you should check out this topic. After reading that topic I immediately sold my RoW.
18. I'm glad to see the official worlds update has it's good uses. But I do have to agree with Jessy here; it has gone downhill from it's original great glory. You used to be able to average 2k fish per catch, leaving you with nearly twice as many fast than today. Oh well, I'm just glad the average isn't around 100 or something. :uhh:
19. Now could you be perfectly honest with me and tell me what the main disadvantages of this method are? This looks interesting, but I'm getting this "this is too good to be true" feeling.
20. Interesting idea; but I believe the main reason those general stickies were created were to keep a heavily brought up subject in one thread(e.g. "I got scammed and I want the world to hear!!!"); opposed to millions of threads spamming up the general board. So as there are very few "Easter egg" threads in the general board I don't think there should be another sticky added(and adding to the already large sticky population of the GB). Now perhaps you just suggested this as a place where all the easter egg ideas could be gathered up in one list, which, don't get me wrong, would be nice. But I don't think that is a strong enough reason to add yet another sticky to the growing sticky collection in the general board. If this were to be added, though, I think we would have to draw the line there on the number of stickies. 11 stickies/announcements is enough.
21. Germans have a harder time adjusting to english, they are also in europe closer to jagex, and runescape is biggest in european countries. Actually English deprived from the German language. You'll find many words in german that have much similiar spelling to their counterparts in english. Also considering the rules are a bit looser in grammar in English than German(e.g. setence structure, in german a statement must always come Subject, Verb, ect.), I don't think taking English as a second language in German should be as challenging as the other languages out there. I think everyone is getting the wrong idea. German is just the first of many; jagex simply chose German to be first. You may find that popular languages will follow such as Spanish, Chinese(eek all the characters!), and French.
22. The buying price is 750k, the selling price is almost always higher; and sometimes much higher. I can see one possible theory: The dragon sheild is currently in a state of unstableness; prices are fluctuating and the buying and selling prices usually have a large gap between them. Besides, it's world 2, the best place for rip-off prices and stubborn buyers. :)
23. Thanks for the wonderful feedback!
24. Cool :) I'll be looking through my 500+ pictures for some suitable for this. :ohnoes: EDIT: Huge drop party(I think this was hosted by me, can't remember) A group of three ancient magicians.
