  1. Not possible. Well now technically blood crafting is possible. :P The ZMI altar actually spits out bloods sometimes! Which leads me to my next statement... FUTURE UPDATES [*:2yu2785g]Super energy calculations and tips [*:2yu2785g]User suggestions reviewed and implemented into the guide [*:2yu2785g]Image updates [*:2yu2785g]New section: ZMI altar(should be the biggest one!)
  2. Hi, I have a couple suggestions for the achievement diaries guide on the site. The main annoyance I come across when doing dairies is the amount of time it takes for me to run around from task to task. You might have a task way up north in the varrock area, but the next task requires you to go way south and jump some fence. So, what I am suggesting is a section in the dairies guides that provides you with a list of tasks that involve the shortest amount of running around time. For example, instead of going from the old lady in the varrock church to the second level of the stronghold of security, you could easily go to the highest point in varrock(only two flights up) instead of running all the way back to the church again. Now, of course, anyone could figure it out if they had a map, noted all the task locations on it, and figured the shortest route; but that would be a waste of time if tip.it had the shortest route up already. I hope I am making this clear. If you don't understand something I'll try to explain it to you. Here's an example: Above you see a map. Each task could have a corresponding number on the map as a helpful reference. Only 5 tasks are included here, if it were the full version all of them would have their numbers and colors on the map. Also note the "Teleport to x" messages; these would inform the users that they would have to teleport to a location to get to a task faster. For example, you definitely wouldn't want to be running all the way to central varrock from barbarian village when a simple varrock teleport could do. EDIT: Just noticed I left out the "make bowl in barbarian village" task... oh well, it's just an example. Of course the list of tasks currently could stay, this suggestion would only list the task while the list of them goes into specific detail. Now- to the requirements. I suggest putting a list above each set of tasks(easy, medium, hard tasks) that lists all the requirements. You know how in the beginning of a quest guide it lists all the requirements? Well this would be exactly the same. This would definitely make it easier for users, currently they must go through each task and make a list of them on a typing program(notepad, word, ect.). Here's what the easy task one would look like: I would appreciate your feedback. :)
  3. Thanks for the awesome feedback wurmy!
  4. Interesting topic, Bufo. :-k All the good traits seem to have been mentioned already, I can't think of anymore. :( Have you considered making a list of these traits? As you get more replies you could build it up and make a list for future clan leaders to look up to. :) EDIT: Just thought of one while looking at Bufo's second post. One of the traits a leader would definately have to have is being able to recognize and eliminate flaws. :)
  5. I think misplacedme put it there because it's an "official" staff topic.
  6. Haha I was waiting to here your response to this poll. :P
  7. Now this is odd, I somehow got to vote twice! I just opened a new window, went to tip.it, and there was a brand new "Vote your skill color!" poll.
  8. Oh ok, it looked like some of the words were cutoff when I looked at it. Possibly extend the poll area a little bit so it's easier to tell choices from others?
  9. You might want to re-do the poll, some of the words are misplaced and cut off.
  10. Thanks :D But I don't think I was just me. Everyone who voiced their opinion and made strong arguments in this topic deserves some credit in this. :D
  11. I and some other users noticed the degrading general board a few weeks ago(or perhaps months, I forgot) and sought out to do something about it. Adam made a topic in the forum improvements forum and it was discussed and debated for quite a while. We finally came up with a plan of separating the general boards into questionnaires and non-questionnaires. And now as you can see the admins have seen the topic and the plan has gone through. :) The split was mostly made, how I saw it, to settle the rants about the general board being stuffed with repetivite questionnaires(e.g. What's your favorite god?, What combat level are you?). Now we couldn't totally get rid of these, as they don't violate the forum rules at all. But we could separate them, and that way everyone would be pleased. In my opinion, tip.it is far from the current state of Runehq. If you want to help you could continue to act mature even if you feel you are being flooded out by the immature community. People still respect you if you act that way, there are still a large number of people who who strive to act mature.

I have a question. In flash, when you create a line it automatically smoothens it out. In paint, though, the line does not smooten out and has a pixelly look. Is there a free program that smootens out lines like flash but doesn't come with the animation tools and such? All I need is tools from paint and smooter lines. -Thanks, mario
  13. You never saw this topic not stickied, it was a figment of your imagination... :-$ Yes... master... Darn I should have taken a screenshot! #-o I can see the headlines now "tip.it staff doesn't sticky important topic!"
  14. Member of the Month Good suggestion, but I do think it has it's share of flaws. There are an incredible amount of active users on tip.it today that it would be nearly impossible for the admins to come down to a single member who is the best out of all the thousands of users. Not only is that more work for the already busy admins, I can see a lot of flaming and bad-mouthing of the staff after a member is chosen. Imagine a hundred users who decide they want to be the member of the month and try very hard for an entire month just to get the member of the month position. Then the staff has to decide on a single user, and all the other 99 just wasted a full month working for nothing. What comes next? "OMG TIP.IT I HATE YOU I WORKED SOOO HARD AT GETTING THAT MEMBER OF THE MONTH AND YOU CHOSE THAT [*****] MATTHEW44294." Also, mentioned before a reward as a local moderator would not work. Local moderators go through special training, just acting mature and using good grammar won't cut it. I know you thought it was a great idea, and I would have thought the same. You aimed at increasing the average tip.iter's grammar/spelling/maturity, which was an awesome idea; it just came with some critism. General discussion The general board problem is being dicussed here. Please read the last few posts to get up-to-date, the original idea has someone changed as posted on the first post.
  15. Yes, we did hope that the pointless discussions would be pushed to the bottom, which didn't exactly happen. Bringing back the Genera/Gen P2P boards will not cause the "pointless" threads to go away. Whether we have one board or two, there will be the same amount of "pointless" threads. "What if/what is your favourite" threads started becoming popular around the time that we decided to merge the threads, which caused some people to believe that the merging is what actually cased the mass increase in those kinds of threads.. which I don't think is true (I think it was a mere coincidence). I'm not saying that the creation of a single 'Discussion' board has caused an increase in poor quality threads, merely that the number of poor quality threads on the front page has not DECREASED. What HAS increased is the number of 'Merger is rubbish' threads, which have definitely increased - from an initial level of zero, obviously. All I would like to see is a return to two discussion boards, then let us deal with the subject of 'Thread Quality' on our own board and on our own terms. What's good for P2P may not necessarily be seen as good for F2P. Why let the greater number of F2P'ers decide what is good for the P2P'ers who provide the bulk of the game's income? (And probably Tip.It's too - how many F2P'ers have made contributions compared to P2P'ers? - given that they won't/can't pay $5 dollars a month for RS) How do you expect to deal with thread quality on your "own" board if you are not a local moderator. Is there something I missed there? Are you suggesting, maybe, that if you tell users to stop posting questionnaire threads(I don't like the term 'pointless,' not all questionnaires are pointless), that they will all magically stop? The only people with the power to do that would be the staff. Separating into f2p and p2p won't work. All you're doing is spliting a problem in two, and then you have two problems that were just as bad as a single one. Right now the general dicussion is a pool of questionnaire and non-questionnaire topics. By taking these two parts of the pool and putting them in their own forums, the problem will be solved. Those who like questionnaries can ask all they want in their forum, and those who wish to dicuss something interesting, or perhaps engage in serious discussion will post in their forum. It's been proven that these two types of topics can be easily distinguished, are there any more problems we want to iron out? Anyone for the test idea I posted on this same page? I'm open to feedback.
  16. Thanks for posting instructions! :) Might I suggest stickying it?
  17. I suppose you could call it a scam. :P But really it's a keylogging program- one that can steal a player's password and with it their account. I wouldn't suggest clicking on any unknown links until they are confirmed by an official staff member(mod, super mod, admin, site crew, ect.) not to be a keylogger. Staff members are trusted users of tif; on the other hand not all users can be trusted, even if the author claims he had "scanned" it.
  18. The "hot topics" are topics that are chosen by the staff that have become popular through user posts. Hot topics are meant to boost the popularity of an already popular topic; which I'm not saying is bad, infact it's a good thing. Unfortunely making a topic a "hot topic" will not necessarly increase the quality of the posts in that topic. I think hot topics were just made to increase the popularity of a discussion and nothing else(correct me if I'm wrong, I'm not familiar with the inner-workings of the site staff). Perhaps every once and a while the staff could choose an interesting less-commonly dicussed topic(e.g. I really enjoyed the bull dog one, that was an awesome discovery and could spark some serious dicussion). Very awesome idea, Gamerr, keep 'em coming!
  19. I think you have the wrong idea :) Have you considered that maybe jagex just chose p2p as the first place to do a mass banning? Perhaps we'll see a f2p mass banning coming soon(although that p2p mass ban was HUGE from what I've heard, might be a few weeks/months to tag all those bots). It would make since that jagex goes to members; as, after all, they are the ones who are paying. As proven in the past, jagex still cares about f2p. They've banned far more autoers in f2p than p2p, even after the recent mass ban.
  20. This new subforum sounds awesome, many thanks to whoever thought of this idea and gave feedback. By the way I started posting daily "security tips" in my signature yesterday. I'll try to keep it up as long as I have a good flow of fresh tips. :)
  21. No way! Jagex are real people and actually need breaks!?
  22. I've had to post this in Unoalexi's thread, and he made the right decision and requested a lock. From past experiences, these topics only need to flame wars and heavy steorotypes. I would seriously consider requesting a lock. I'm sorry if you were trying to start a serious discussion, but I think it would be best if you ended this before it gets much worse.
  23. When someone attacks the mugger/hobgoblin I don't think they know you are trying to kill the autoer. Sometimes people just want to beat up some NPC; I've had the same feeling numerous times and murdered myself a few unsuspecting guards.
  24. I've almost had enough with this search button here. It's ridiculous; I'm trying to find a simple thread that has been lost in the general forums by searching parts of it's title and so far I have not had a single hit. My title goes something like "New slayer monster drops." I've tried "monster," "drops," "monster drops," "bestiary," "slayer," "slayer monster," and none of them have come up with the thread I was looking for. This has also happened several times to me in the past, so what I explained above might not be just a coinsidence(i.e. it was deleted for some odd, unknown reason). Does anyone know if phpBB3 is going to have a better search option? If so it will be one of the main updates I will be looking foward to in the third installment of the phpBB forums.
