  1. ok i got past stage 4 and am now stuck on stage 8. i would like to say that the hint about number 4 could only work here on earth, not in space or on another planet... <_< >_> any other hints for 8? ive tried pretty much all i could come up with for the answer. i know its 15 numbers, but i must be getting the wrong numbers. i can only think of 3 ways to get those numbers, though. anyone wanna post another hint?
  2. well we all know that runescape is a great game and its lots of fun. we also all know that tip.it is the greatest runescape fansite out there, no question about it. but what about the driving force behind the two? what about the community? granted, the community as a whole has gone down for runescape, but it doesnt seem to have gotten too bad for tip.it. so heres what i think. i think that there are still both good and bad points to the community both in game and here. and i want to know what you think. for me, the best points of the runescape community are the fact that you can turn public chat to off and keep a friends list of 100(much, much more than ill ever need) friends. the bad points are that there are so many whiny, scamming, begging, crying players that it just sickens me. im actually taking a break from RS for a bit to play maple story (great game, btw. stunning level design, great music, etc. etc. but im not advertizing it here or anything >_> <_<) and the community there is so nice. the only bad place was the "free market" which resembled varrock, world 1. as for tip.it, the greatest points are that the community is generally friendly, the mods and admins arent to overly "wrathful god"-ish, and you can come here to have a nice friendly arguement without getting called a noob(generally) or getting banned(most of the time). the bad points about tip.it are that you see a ton of people who dont know where the search button is or how to use it. not only that, but you cant extend tip.it beyond the boundaries of the internet and your computer to have it encompass your entire life.
  3. god, i know that this fourth stage is going to be one of those ones where once you figure it out, you go outside and let a car roll over your head for being so stupid and not noticing something so obvious. serisouly, though, can we all just get a slightly better hint than "think outside the box"? thats just way too vague at this point...
  4. ZOH-MY-GOD! the clock crew permiates even this website, far over on the other side of the internet... so, did you see the runescape ad on newgrounds to? or did you already know about it? on topic: yes, i need a clue as well for number 4. ive tried thinking outside the box, but the box has been moistened in a recent storm, so its kind of all over the place right now...
  5. the minute they code an electric chair, gas chamber, gallows, and/or firing squad.
  6. barihawk wins. thread closed :P
  7. thanks for the clarification Newp ;) i think that its great that jagex is finally cracking down on all the rule breakers, but i feel that sometimes, they dont devote enough time to certain cases. i, myself have never autoed, scammed, or broken any major rule, though i will admit that i have once or twice in the past said "google it" to one or two people and i have never had any warnings or bans on my one and only account. ive seen people that have had one of their mule accounts, and subsiquently(sp?) their mains, banned from rs for various things and while i mostly agree with that rule, there are a few times when i think it might go just a bit over the edge. for example, a person may have a main and an "experimental"(x-mule) account. the main could be entirely legit, never interacting with the x-mule, never breaking any rules, and the x-mule could have been used to try out various things that... were not legit, just to see what its like. if the x-mule gets banned, i feel that as long as there are no marks, warnings or other signs that the main account has done wrong, i feel that jagex should let that account stay active, at least until that same person makes another cheating account that gets banned, then the main should be banned as well. i know a few people who have cheated in the past in that manner and they feel truly sorry for their actions. they wish that they could have kept their legit mains, but now they have to restart the account all over again. they have since never cheated in any way and are slowly getting back on track. what we and jagex have to remember is that its just a game. and while it is true that autoers, scammers, and other cheats ruin the game for us, should we not someone the benefit of the doubt and let them keep a "clean" main account? i know most of you feel that people who have cheated deserve never to play the game again, but think about it. lets say a person steals a car. they may go to jail for a few years, but they will be able to get out and live their normal lives again. what we have going here is akin to someone stealing a car and getting the death penalty for it. thats pretty much all i have to say for now. i have classes to get to. sorry for the long post :P
  8. im glad we have an official thread to discuss these things in. its much better than the spammy, flame war ridden, inevitably locked ones that we had before. one question, though. is this topic strictly for posting about things like the removed times article and jagex's banning of people with similar cases or is it a place to discuss how you feel youve been unfairly banned in general? i ask because depending on exactly what this topic is limited to, you could get alot of posts saying "PMG JADEX BANNEDMEH UNFARILY!!!1!" or you could get alot of posts saying things like "i think jagex banned me just because my name resembled an almost swear word in a different language" and such. just wanna get clarification here.
  9. what rock have you been hiding under all this time? it mustve been a rock in the wildy or on karamja... this update happened a long, long time ago. as jagex continues their updates around the world, they will eventually upgrade all the rocks to look like this. go check out the ones in barbarian village, i hear they contain two ores each(i think its clay and tin).
  10. has anyone gotten past the second level? if so, please send me a hint or t wo in a pm. thanks :)
  11. hello, welcome to the boards. please take a few minutes to read over the rules, just so your well informed. i recommend lurking the forums(thats looking without posting) for a few days so your familiar with how things work on a more intricate level. please try to make sure that you make relevant posts and topics to keep flaming of your person and topic locking by mods down to a minimum. youll find that generally, were a happy bunch thats always ready to answer your questions, provided that you use the help and advice forum. were happy to discuss issues of runescape on the general forums but please make sure you use the search button if your unsure of whether or not a topic has been made before. if one has, and its last reply was more than a month ago, then feel free to make a new topic if its at least a fairly current event. the general population feels that a new thread about "how rediculous the price of phats is", as an example, is really an old issue that doesnt need to be discussed. if your feeling adventurous, you can venture onto the rants board and try your hand at arguing or make a topic about how something within runescape bugs you. if you do, please, above all else, please read the stickied topic at the top entitled "how to write a good rant". this is a life saver and will definately save you the frustration of the mighty flames of the rant lurkers, like raichase, and myself, to name a few. if you need to buy or sell something you could always try the market forums, but please make sure that you use the appropriate board for the type of item your selling. if you dont get a responce right away, dont worry, just be patient and only bump your topic up if it falls off the front page. other than that, just try to be a nice person, dont be too spiteful in an arguement, try to remain calm, level headed, and mature, and im sure youll be very warmly welcomed here. happy scaping :) (copy and paste is fun :P)
  12. your welcome! :) feel free to copy and paste that in any other "hi, im new" thread if you want. ill only charge $10 per quote (just kidding lol :P)
  13. hello, welcome to the boards. please take a few minutes to read over the rules, just so your well informed. i recommend lurking the forums(thats looking without posting) for a few days so your familiar with how things work on a more intricate(that means "detailed". i hear your english is not that good) level. please try to make sure that you make relevant posts and topics to keep flaming of your person and topic locking by mods down to a minimum. youll find that generally, were a happy bunch thats always ready to answer your questions, provided that you use the help and advice forum. were happy to discuss issues of runescape on the general forums but please make sure you use the search button if your unsure of whether or not a topic has been made before. if one has, and its last reply was more than a month ago, then feel free to make a new topic if its at least a fairly current event. the general population feels that a new thread about "how rediculous the price of phats is", as an example, is really an old issue that doesnt need to be discussed. if your feeling adventurous, you can venture onto the rants board and try your hand at arguing or make a topic about how something within runescape bugs you. if you do, please, above all else, please read the stickied topic at the top entitled "how to write a good rant". this is a life saver and will definately save you the frustration of the mighty flames of the rant lurkers, like raichase, and myself, to name a few. if you need to buy or sell something you could always try the market forums, but please make sure that you use the appropriate board for the type of item your selling. if you dont get a responce right away, dont worry, just be patient and only bump your topic up if it falls off the front page. other than that, just try to be a nice person, dont be too spiteful in an arguement, try to remain calm, level headed, and mature, and im sure youll be very warmly welcomed here. also, since english is a second language for you, if you have any questions or if you are having trouble understanding any of the phrases that we use regularly, feel free to send me a pm and ill be glad to help clear them up for you :) happy scaping :D
  14. dude, thats AWESOME! i am soo saving this on my hardrive! my friends are gonna ROFL at this!
  15. you can make 18k merchanting 30 steel bars. go mine 60 coal, and 30 iron if your skills are high enough, then sell the bars for 600 each. or, if you lack the skills to mine coal effectively, then buy the materials for 500 gp total and sell the bars for 600. check out this bit of math: assume that youll buy all your material. now, we take 500gp starting funds(because thats the minimum needed to buy materials for one bar) and buy two coal(200 each) and one iron(100 each). make a steel bar and sell it to someone for 600gp. then take all your profits and put them into buying more materials as you can, making more steel bars as you make more profit. after merchanting about 166 steel bars this way, 500gp will turn into 18k easily. not only that, but you get free smithing xp. i will say that mining your own materials is the best way to go, though.
  16. i think this either belongs in rants or runescape suggestions... either way, its been done. to death. and back. the search button is your friend. we know there there needs to be more bank space. we know that jagex should increase the banks space. as far as i know, they already have the bank space as high as they can for the amount of server space/bandwidth that they have. also, you should try to manage your bank more succesfully. only keep the essentials in there. dont keep frivolous items in there that you can get at any general store, such as tinderboxes, chisels, buckets, etc. finally, clean it out every once in a while. go through everything and say "do i need this particular item?"
  17. please use the help and advice board in the future. also, i have no clue what to do cause im not a member, but i suggest reading tip.its guide on the quest as it gives you info on what stats you need.
  18. thanks for spamming about spam... i guess this post is spam too :P *vikings singing* "spam, spam, spam, lovely SPAM!" ok, thats enough... good job on turning over a new leaf, just make sure there are no nasty bugs on that leaf  what i mean by that, because i know no one will get it, is make sure you dont let beggars and scammers get the better of you
  19. you and i are a dying breed, man. good job! :D
  20. well, i guess you can either get a better comp, or play less demanding games yes, then you wouldnt be here, would you? so i guess you a member? why not just keep playing rsc then? well thats just a product of the community that is this world, now is it? they used to be until the boom of new users says who? what exactly do you want to happen? if you arent clear then nothing will happen, will it?
  21. id say look around other magic and holy places and see if you can find that symbol anywhere else. i think ive seen that in the chaos altar near goblin village before.
  22. i hope thats not an actual website... youll get into lots of trouble if it is... i think...
  23. i agree with what you say, but i also point out that you fail to see the other side of jagex's arguement. the reason they ban for advertising is because they are worried that people will spam-post things like "come check out this site for all your hints and tips" or "look here for runescape cheats" or something even worse(adult sites, unrelated forums, etc.). the whole place would become one big mess of aimbot style spam posters. dont try to deny it, you know it would happen. also, jagex doesnt want people to be able to say "if you let us tell people to google something, why cant we tell them to go to my personal site for help?", when jagex has no clue whether or not the site has viruses or keyloggers and they cant be bothered to check out every site. so, in order to be fair, they ban all website advertising instead of letting some words go through. its just the kind of rut they are stuck in...:?
  24. oh, so you know whats going on then? how 'bout you either contribute, or come up with something thats either better or makes more sense? no need to tell us that we're "over thinking" something that, frankly, we're mostly doing for fun now. we know we're probably way off, but it doesnt matter, because this is fun. and if we turned out to be right, we will so laugh at your for doubting us.
  25. well, raichase and i have been pretty much tearing up the noobs on the rants forum, while duke freedom's been picking up the majority here, from what ive seen. i wrote an apparently prophetic thread which you can find within my sig text. oh, shiva has passed away:( you can find a thread on it on this board. other than that, some updates have been made, some cool new items came out, there was a mass banning of like 5000 people... you know, the usual :P
