  1. About 467k Bronze or about 463k Iron arrows. You really should pick them up, somehow. You can cut the amount to about 117k and 116k if you do. Hope this helps
  2. I lot of high level F2Pers train on Moss giants, Ice giants, or Lesser Demons. That's not the fastest training but a lot of players seem to think that you need to switch to higher level monsters as you level up. You earn Melee exp according to HitDone*4 So, the fastest training happens when you are hitting something "constantly". The level of the monster doesn't matter. Hitting a 2 on a Lumbridge rat earns you 8 exp. Hitting a 2 on a wildy Greater Demon earns you the exact same 8 in exp. But the MG, IG, LD, or GD is harder to hit and, in turn, will hit you harder and more often then a lowbie will. So, unless you want the better loot that high level monsters offer, you are probably better off training on lower level monsters. You will hit low level monsters more often and they, in turn, will barely touch you. That means that you can train for hours at a time with very little down time for food or bank runs. But, for fast exp you need a steady supply of lowbies to slaughter. The SoS has small rooms crowded with fast respawning monsters. That makes for ideal training in F2P. You can try the different levels in the SoS but remember, it's getting hits that matters, not the level of what you kill. Try the Fleshcrawlers in the SoS. Hope this helps
  3. Server lag What you are seeing on your screen does not occur at the exact same time as when she is seeing it due to server and ISP lag. For example, some players that I play with have a VDSL/DSL/cable connection. Their "ping" time is 0.03 seconds, typically. My "ping" time on a dial-up connection is typically 0.33 seconds. In other words, they experience things 0.3 seconds sooner than I do. Hope this helps
  4. It's probably due to confusion with the normal operating mode of a cannon. IIRC, cannons give 0 HP exp and only half of the normal Range exp, HitDone*2 Instead of the "normal" Hitdone*4 Hope this helps
  5. That's pretty much how it is with higher level monsters. That's the price that you pay for getting a chance at better loot. Remember, for fast training you want to be hitting something "constantly". Hope this helps
  6. You have gotten several answers but you might want to give some thought to what makes a monster good for training on. If you want good loot then fight G & L demons, or I & M giants. They offer the best loot in F2P. The "price" that you pay for that better loot is time and food. You will hit less often against a higher level monster and they will hurt you more. That requires healing food. All of that adds up to "wasted" time. If you want fast, easy, and safe exp then train on lowbie monsters. You earn melee exp according to HitDone*4 The level of the monster doesn't matter. Hitting a 2 on a Lumbridge rat earns you 8 in exp. Hitting a 2 on a Greater Demon earns you the exact same 8 in exp. So, unless you want the loot, you may as well train on lowbies. In addition, lowbies will rarely hurt you. So you won't need much, if any food to train on them for hours at a time. For fast exp you want to be hitting constantly. Since you will be able to kill a lowbie quickly, you will need another one right away to be able to keep the exp flowing in. That means that you need an area crowded with them or an area with a quick respawn time. The SoS has both of that. You can easily find a place in the SoS where you can slaughter lowbies, non-stop, for hours at a time while requiring very little food. Try the fleshcrawlers in the SoS. Hope this helps
  7. Well that depends if you buy from another player or from a store. If you buy from a store then world hop to keep the price low. Although, really, there is no need to try and buy them all at once. But, actually, your best bet is to range Minotaurs in the SoS. They drop a lot of arrows so you may be able to hunt in a self-sustaining fashion by using the arrows from the present kill to take down the next monster. :) Hope this helps
  8. Uncleaned (Unidentified) snapdragon herb...
  9. Right. The key idea is that if a Jagex mod showed up then you could respond correctly to any thing that they might say or do. A true AFKer or macroer would not be able to that. Hope this helps
  10. About 133k This post explains how to do the calculation. Hope this helps
  11. For me, it depends on my available time. Most of the time I'm only allowed to play for 2 hours a day, tops. So, I put on a good CD and grind away...
  12. Goobore replied to nova15's topic in Help and Advice
Yes Mine 3, drop 3, repeat the "3-cycle" 31000 times...
  13. Exactly so. Macroers can move around and reset the non-aggressive timer. So for that reason, (and others), Jagex started the random event thing. But they still kept the non-aggressive timer. Jagex really wants you at the keyboard when you play. Otherwise, AFKers and macroers would "take over" RS. That would put the real-person-at-the-keyboard player at a huge disadvantage when trying to level up skills and play the game as intended. And satisfying real paying customers is what keeps Jagex in business...
  14. I don't know about knives since I'm F2P, but it would take you about 116k Iron arrows if you picked them up or about 464k if you did not. Hope this helps
  15. Goobore replied to nova15's topic in Help and Advice
So? You can always 3 item runite ore mining. That way the PKers will never get your ore. Or just use a scout to check the area first...
  16. Goobore replied to nova15's topic in Help and Advice
Yes, for F2P. You can start making money at mining level 15 when you can mine iron. You can, eventually, include coal, mith, addy, and runite ore. Even silver and gold if you can find a crafter. Yes, but the problem with F2P runite ore mining is that, most times, the 2 F2P runite rocks are empty. There are a lot of players that are after those 2 rocks. And, you have to be prepared to deal with the PKers that would like to steal your ore. Btw, the respawn time for the runite ore is 1386-#Players/3 seconds Use the Tip It mining/smithing marketplace forums. You will find buyers there. I got to 85 using the 3 iron rocks on the NW wall of the Al-Kharid mine. Hope this helps
  17. Not if they auto-attack. The fleshcrawlers will auto-attack no matter what your level is. They will only stop when the anti-afk training timer goes off. In that case, just leave the area and return to start them auto-attacking you again. Hope this helps
  18. My daytime firewall blocks the RS site, so I can't see that kind of data :( Too many clicks :| Hi-alch is gonna take about 167k clicks. Hope this helps
  19. I have a question about failed Curses: Can this work on any type of monster an infinite amount of times? In other words, you can keep casting Curse on the same monster over and over again without needing to kill it somehow? That's exactly right provided that you fail when you cast every Curse. You do that by getting your magic attack as low as possible. In F2P you can easily get it to -68 or so. that's more than enough to always fail the spell. Hope this helps
  20. How about a calculator that implements the ideas in this post...
  21. Minotaurs in the SoS are good since they drop a lot of arrows. About, Level 66 if you do not pick up but Level 82 if you do pick them up. It would take about 150k Iron arrows to get to 99 if you pick them up. Btw, the Curse pulling trick makes it easy to pick up your arrows. Hope this helps
  22. Then your experience will be less per hour than at the SoS. (Drops will be better though) A few comments regarding other comments in this thread... Ice Giants and Lesser Demons are good for loot but they are harder to train on. By that I mean that exp per hour is less and they take a lot more food compared to SoS monsters. The Sos has 4 levels in it, (As CampbellMC said). The highest level monster on level 4 is an Ankou that is about as hard as a lesser or greater demon. The bedabin camp is in a members only desert. Players often make the mistake of thinking that you must change to higher level monsters as you, yourself, level up. That is true to a small extent but not nearly as much as players think. You earn melee exp according to MeleeExp = HitDone*4 The level of the monster doesn't matter. Hitting a 2 on a Lumbridge rat earns you 8 in exp. Hitting a 2 on a wildy Greater Demon earns you 8 as well. The GD is harder to hit and will damage you more than a lowbie. So training on a GD, LD, or IG will go more slowly and consume a lot more food compared to training on a lowbie. So, unless you want the better drops from GD's, LD's, or IG's, training is faster, cheaper, safer, and easier if you spend your time slaughtering lowbies. Now, since lowbies will drop pretty fast around you, you need a constant supply of them to maximize your rate of exp. So, you need either quick respawns or a small area crowded with them. The SoS has many rooms that are crowded with exactly those kinds of monsters. You can explore the SoS a bit and find a spot that offers good training. A couple of monsters are worthy of note. The minotaurs drop a lot of arrows. That's nice for eventually training Range. The Fleshcrawlers are auto-aggressive so training on them can be nice. Hope this helps
  23. Goobore replied to I_Dragonov_I's topic in Help and Advice
Well, not to be harsh, but if you understood how melee exp is earned then you would also understand that the SoS is ideal for melee training. The fastest melee training in F2P comes when you are constantly hitting something. If you are hitting a lowbie then you get 2 benefits: 1) You will hit more often and hence, average a decent exp/hour 2) You will take very little damage yourself and hence, can train for hours without food breaks. The Sos has 4 levels of increasing difficulty available for training. So, you can pick an "ideal" spot for yourself. The Sos rooms are usually "crowded" with monsters so you can start killing a second monster as soon as the first one dies. You earn melee exp according to Exp = HitDone*4 So, hitting a 2 on a Lumbridge rat earns you 8 exp. But hitting a 2 on a Greater Demon will earn you the exact same 8 in exp. So, give the first or second levels of the SoS a try. Hope this helps
  24. If the OP wore green vambraces instead of gloves then he gets an additional -10 in magic attack. That's useful for cancelling the +10 from the staff. Yeah, he'll work. I prefer to use a multi-combat zone just to be sure that I'll always have a target. But, there are lots of monsters that will work if every Curse is failed. Hope this helps
  25. That depends on what you mean when you say "effective" If you mean "cost effective" then do Failed Curses If you mean "time effective" then do Fally teleport or Hi-Alch If you mean "loot effective" then Nuke lesser demons If you mean "get money back effective" then do Hi-Alch Well that works great provided that you have a lot of d-hide bodies. Getting that many bodies will slow down your magic. No Failed Cursing is 1.5 times as effective for the same cost. From your own numbers, it looks like you have magic level 81. 2400 Strikes an hour seems a bit high to me. You will not get 26 per cast. Fire Strike gives you FireStrikeExp = 11.5 + HitDone*2 with a max value of 8 for HitDone. that means that your expected hit is more like 4 with an expected Exp ~= 19 So to go from 81 to 99 using FireStrikes would take about 571k casts Failed Cursing always gives 29 exp per cast. So, going from 81 to 99 would take about 374k casts. Well, your number for FireStrike was way off. It's more like 19 instead of 26 That depends on available cash, your bank inventory, if you want HP exp as you cast, if you want auto-casting, etc. Check out the Tip It guide for magic. They have a listing of the "exp" for each spell that can give you some ideas. Also, don't downplay Failed Cursing yet. It is a very cost effective way to raise magic. Finally, get a membership. Members have so many better ways to train. Hope this helps
