  1. wrong! you can go get another one from the guy in the champions guild! Hmmm, are you absolutely sure? Oziak over west of Edgeville is the guy that originally gives you the key. The guy in the champions guild just starts the quest. If you lose the key during the quest, Oziak will give you another one so it seems odd that the champions guild guy would suddenly jump in to replace a key that, (for quest purposes), you don't need any more. Oziak definitely won't give you a replacement key after you finish the quest. Hmm, I wasn't I posted them as I thought of them. You know, one thought spurred another. Besides, why would I want to boost my post count anyway? It's not like it matters (to me) in any way, shape, or form. :-k Well, since you doubted one of them you should probably verify all of the others.
  2. Fighting a random event monster gives 1/10 of the normal experience.
  3. Free players can't get a second Blurite sword after they have finished the Knight's sword quest.
  4. You can only own a max of 29 anti-dragonbreath shields (the ones from the Duke of Lumbridge)
  5. IIRC, the Draynor village witch will do something mean to you (steal 5 gp) if you insult her.
  6. If a free player loses his Melzar's maze key after completing the Dragon Slayer quest then he can't get another one.
  7. In Runescape classic, the pillars on the eastern city gates of Varrock are both misaligned from the city walls.
  8. The runite ore respawn time is 1386 - Players/3 seconds
  9. If p is the portion of arrows that you pick up after shooting then 1/(1-p) is the total number of shots that you can get out of them p=1/2 gives you 2x shots p=2/3 gives you 3x shots p=3/4 gives you 4x shots p=4/5 gives you 5x shots p=5/6 gives you 6x shots
  10. Free players can "work" on their lock picking skill Namely, when you get locked in the Port Sarim jail after a Shantay teleport, you must pick the cell lock to get out. No exp for it though :(
  11. Actually, that's just your computer doing a "catch up" animation. The server still thinks that you are moving so, after the cut process is over (other things work as well), you, the client, has to catch up to your "true" position as maintained by the Jagex server. Still kinda neat though...
  12. 1386 - Players/3 seconds Hope this helps
  13. Something for everyone to consider is that most of the monsters that are being suggested are known monsters. That is, when a person suggests a monkey or snake you think of Karamja, or a wildy Hobgoblin you picture the rocks in the wildy, or the greater demons - you think of the GD ruins in the wildy. My suggestion is that the least frequently killed monster is probably the one that most F2P players don't even know exists. For example, can you name all of the denizens of Melzars's maze? If you can't, then, chances are, there's a monster in there that you, and others, rarely kill. You have to even know about a monster before you can kill it. So an "unknown" monster is probably killed less often than a known monster (like a rune gear carrying GD for example) Most of these less known monsters are behind keyed locked doors. Besides locked Melzar's maze, you also have the weapon master in Varrock and the closet skelly in Draynor manor. So, I would suggest that we think about monsters in out of the way places. For example, can you name all of the witches in the F2P world? How about all of the wildy outlaw bandits?
  14. Don't forget to bring runes for Hi-alching and teleporting. There are at least 3 LD safe spots on Crandor. I usually use the one that's south of the eastern edge of the top area. Also, if you do everything right, then you don't even need to bring any food. If you get bored then you can ping-pong kill both lessers at once. Finally, there are also the 3 mossies down around the corner. They have at least 2 safe spots and offer big bone drops. Hope this helps
  15. I'm not sure, but I think that in F2P it's just how often you get high hits. Members is probably better in that regard... Hope this (somehow) helps
  16. The Crandor lessers are usually far less crowded then the Karamja lessers. Of course, you know to start ranging after the monster has stopped to stand outside of your safe spot. I don't know of any. AFAIK, your F2P max hit doesn't change but how often you hit higher would. You could try examing the Tip It range guide to see if they have any additional data. Well, IIRC, the Tip It Range max hit values are something like: Bronze = (Range + 14)/9 Iron = (Range + 15)/9 Steel = (Range + 14)/8 Mith = (Range + 13.5)/7.5 Addy = (Range + 16)/7 Rune = (Range + 18)/6 But that's just my own personal analysis of the data from a long time ago. Hope this helps
  17. Curse has a 3/2 experience advantage over Fire Strike for the same cost... White knights are nice since they are non-aggressive. Hope this helps
  18. Well, the max hit for each arrow type is about Bronze = (Range + 14)/9 Iron = (Range + 15)/9 so Iron is really not that much better than Bronze. Power ranging is incredibly wasteful. If you pick up your arrows then you can use each one about 4 times That will save you a lot of money and/or get you to a higher level. I always liked doing the 2 lesser demons on the top of Crandor Island. But, you can check the Tip It range training guide for lots of other places. A few things to consider... First, if you Range Minotaurs in the SoS then you can get a lot of arrow drops. That will help with your leveling. Second, if you use the Curse pulling trick then you can pick up all of your recoverable arrows in a safe, easy, and fast manner. Third, if you properly use a safe spot, then you don't even need much, if any, food. Hope this helps
  19. It depends... Are you P2P or F2P? and What is your combat level?
  20. Not sure, but if you upgrade your gear as soon as you can, it won't take long. SoS, levels 1 and/or 2 Fight whatever allows you to be hitting almost non-stop. You want to be slaughtering for hours at a time down there. If you fish in the River outside of the Barbarian village, and cook there as well, then you can fight, get food, and then return to fight. Low level monsters offer fast training, high level monsters offer better loot. Hope this helps
  21. SoS boots are boots avalable to all players from the Stronghold of Security. They have some basic stats that are, well, better than nothing. Consult the Tip It SoS guide for full details on how to get them. But if you have, and can wear, Black Dragonhide vambraces then you have at least level 70 ranging and are a member. In that case, you probably have far better boots, and other gear, available. So, wear whatever gives you the lowest (most negative) Magic attack stat to be able to cast a Curse on the same monster over and over again. Hope this helps

The Tip It Range Skill guide has suggested training places organized by level and P2P vs F2P. Otherwise, I suggest that you make a post like "Best place to Range from 20 to 30?" As you level up repost the question with your new levels. If you ask a specific, focused question like that then you will probably get some decent responses. Otherwise consider this: Range: Pick up your arrows. You will get about 4 times the number of shots out of them if you do. That will save you a huge amount of money. If you hunt the minotaurs in the SoS then you may be able to use the arrows that drop for the next kill. Also, if you cast a Curse spell on the monster first, then you can get it mad enough to walk over to stand outside your safe spot. That way, when the monster dies, all of the recoverable arrows are in the loot pile. That makes arrow recovery fast, safe, and easy. For damage, range max hit is something like IronArrows = (Range + 15)/9 Consult the Tip It range guide for a max hit table. Magic: The most cost effective spell available for F2P is Curse. If you cast a Curse spell on a monster then you will always earn 29 magic exp. It doesn't matter if it hits or not. It's always 29 exp. So, dress in any full metal armor, kite shield, green vambraces, staff, and Sos boots. Then go and Curse almost any monster from a safe spot. Also, post the same kind of question, "Best place/way to level F2P magic from levels 20-30?" in the forums and see what you get. Finally, since you are F2P, you will very quickly reach the max capability in ranging (level 40 IIRC) and Magic (level 59 IIRC). So you will probably find that the last 12 million in exp, on your way to 99, is earned in exactly the same way. Only the first million (or less) will have a bit of variety. Hope this helps

Well, I have failed thousands of times in a row with level 81 magic wearing that gear. If you did "hit" with the Curse then switch to a different target. That's why I like the key room and Port Sarim jail. You have 4+ targets available. Or, the red monk under the Varrock stairs is said to "shake off" the Curse rather quickly so you could use him if you wanted. Hope this helps
  24. Any Dragonhide (green, blue, red, or black) vambraces will work. Green has the lowest skill level required so that's why I mentioned them. Hope this helps

I don't know the fastest P2P place but... You earn melee exp as HitDone*4 So, for fast exp you want to be hitting something constantly. You will be able to hit a lower level monster more often than a higher level monster, so if you can find a never ending supply of "kinda lowbie" monsters, then you can earn good exp. Plus, lower level monsters won't hurt you much (if any) so your food supply will last a long time. The SoS has everything that you need. A variety of fast respawning lower level monsters crowded into "small" rooms. That will allow you to slaughter them non-stop for hours at a time. The flesh crawlers are even auto-aggressive. Just because you are "high" level, doesn't mean that you "must" train on high level monsters. Exp is determioned by the hit that you do and not by the level of what you just killed. The thing to remember is "Low level monsters for fast exp, high level monsters for good loot" Hope this helps
