  1. You are basically asking for a way around a deliberate game mechanic designed into RS by Jagex. Non-autoattacking is part of the game to prevent players from easily earning exp by AFK training. Jagex wants us at the keyboard when we earn exp. If there were an easy, legal, "auto" way around it, then chances are, Jagex would nerf it. Illegal macro software could do it, (and get your character banned). Otherwise, just move out of sight of the monsters every 10 minutes or so and they will then continue to autoattack. But then, that means that you are "at" the keyboard, which is what Jagex wants anyway. Hope this helps
  2. You first reach Crandor island by starting the Dragon Slayer quest and getting far enough along to travel there with Ned in your private boat. After you arrive there, you can go under the island and pass through the secret door to arrive under the Karamja Island volcano. The secret door is how you'll return to Crandor island in the future. But first, you must start the Dragon slayer quest. Hope this helps
  3. I'm a F2P player. When I fish lobsters on Karamja my banking trip was: Teleport from Karamja lobster dock to Lumby, walk to Al-Kharid, bank, walk to Shantay (could use his bank too if you wanted), get Shantay to teleport you to the Port Sarim jail, "F2P pick lock", and then walk to the Dock. So, it's a "walk half way" trip overall and a bit of a walk from Lumby to Shantay but the rest is kinda fun to do.
  4. Kinda OT, but all players can use the Shantay bank (even F2P) and then use the free teleport to the Port Sarim jail. So, that might work for the return trip but getting to Shantay quickly could be slow. Hmm, Home (Lumby) tele and walk to Shantay or maybe Duel arena (P2P only) teleport then walk to Shantay. Probably won't work that well but, just wondering...
  5. Well woodcutting and firemaking go together well. Also, fishing and cooking too. You can do mining to earn a bit of cash if you want. Prayer and Runecrafting are probably the hardest skills to raise in F2P. Smithing is also hard. Hope this helps
  6. First, most monsters will stop auto-attacking you after about 10 minutes or so. Second, you can look at the Tip It bestiary for al sorts of Monster information. Hope this helps
  7. Well, that's true for City guards, most Dwarves, White knights, etc Attacking a player will depend on level and/or aggressiveness. Some low levels alwats attack (ghosts in wildy) Some med levels never attack first (White knights) So, it varies, consult the Tip It Bestiary to get more info on creatures. No Hope this helps
  8. Yeah. Get 85 mining and then sell the ore to finance raising smithing. But keep in mind that just selling the ore is a good money maker. Being able to smith rune gear would be a great achievement but now, Rune gear is the 4th best armor in the game. So, it's not the big money maker that it once was. It will cost you about 20 million gp to go from 75 to 85 using steel bars. (Including Hi-alching the final result) Otherwise you would need to smelt and smith about 37000 steel "ore" Hope this helps
  9. IIRC, Gold Crowns are Jagex mods and Silver Crowns are player mods Sounds like he was trying to get you banned for item scamming or something. Hard to believe a player mod would act like that. Finally, it's not smart to admit that you were trying to rip someone off and give your RS name...
  10. First, you can buy another Silverlight from Sir Prysin in the Varrock palace for about 500 gp. Second, the Silverlight is not worth 30000 Third, Quest items are usually not tradeable Fourth, that was no Jagex Mod, report him. Hope this helps Edit: Gahh!, I misread the post. (Report yourself instead)
  11. Hmm, well there's an electric meat heater in the Al-Kharid Kebob shop, and there's also a hamster powered sign behind the Fally barber door, and sophisticaed auto-fire cannons, and hot air balloons, and nitro bombs, and dragons, magic, and swords and armor... Hmm, I'd say that no time period fits well at all...
  12. She's in the house just west of the west Varrock bank (outside the wall) IIRc, it's a bunch of quest points. Check Tip It's guide. Hope this helps
  13. Well, I'm F2P so I don't know anything about knives,but... if a knife gave the same damage as an arrow made from the same metal, then you could reach about level 73.5 (or about 62 if you didn't pick them up) Hope this helps
  14. But it's fun to speculate about "exciting" new content for our "favorite" game... :D
  15. Well, it depends on what Jagex does with it... For example, in EQ, Bards play songs (3 or 4 at once) that provide all sorts of benefits for other players and themselves. A bard could play a Damage-over-Time song spell, or a Heal-over-Time song spell, or a Increase-your-strength-by-10%-as-long-as-the-song-is-playing song spell. There are many, many other benefits that a Bard can provide a group of players. The neat thing is that these are all magic spells done without any runes (Mana in EQ) at all. You only need the instrument. You don't need Air, Water, Earth, Fire, Chaos runes, etc to cast the spell. In EQ, players work together and support each other to take down monsters. The Bard fills a role as a strong support player. Now, if Jagex decided to expand the RS playstyle to include more cooperative missions between players, then a "support other players" skill could be in the making. Now, the whole "Bard in RS" thng is pure speculation, but at least you have some idea now about how it's usefully done in another game.
  16. Hmm, close to a bank and yet remote? You could try the Shantay bank and burn south of the pass or north (south of the palace). Lots of space and (probably) few people. Works for free players also. (really) Hope this helps
  17. You should check the Tip It marketplace forums to find prices and buyers. Although, most buyers are going to want more than just 1 ;) Zammy wines are gotten from the chaos altar at the wildy edge north of the Goblin village north of Fally The trouble is that the monks will attack you and LOWER your combat stats so, you should either have very good stats to start with or go with a team of friends to get some wines. IIRC, the wine respawn was about 45 seconds and the monk(s) respawn time was something like 2 minutes. (I seem to recall that I could grab 3 wines total after every clearing of the altar area before the monks started to respawn) Hope this helps
  18. AFAIK, the formula is RuneOreRespawnTime = 1386 - Players/3 seconds So that gives: 12 minutes for the shortest time and 23 minutes for the longest. Hope this helps

But you are recommending an even slower training method... Fire Strike averages about 19 magic exp per cast. Failed Curse always gives 29 magic exp per cast. That's about a 3/2 ratio advantage for Curse over Strike The cost per Curse cast is about the same as per Strike cast so it will end up costing you a lot less money if you use Curse instead. To go from 35 to 60 would take about 13230 Fire Strikes but it would take, at most, 8667 failed Curses. might want to rethink that...
  20. Chat OFF my friend Because it would only encourage begging and spoil my playing experience. I enjoy setting goals for myself and then achieving them. Knowing that I did it is all the ego stroking that I "Want" or "Need" And, no matter what my stats, (they really aren't that good btw) there are always many thousands of people better. lol Also, talking about me, personally, is really getting off topic...
  21. Maybe I would if it mattered, but since, IMHO, it doesn't, so... Well, I think that gets back to the "life experience" thing No, my friend. Hmmm, that is what I am trying to do here. Well, what if a player was bit of a sociapath? That kind of player certainly wouldn't care about the thoughts or feelings of others. (I just know what kinda posts are gonna follow from that comment, lol ) Well, I play in a solo style all the time. So, I can't ever recall such a moment. But, IMHO, the issue under debate is really if the word "All" is accurate. It's not about my personal play style but rather about the claim that "All RS players play to ..." In mathematics, and langauge, the word "All" means that there are no exceptions. In short, that every single possibility is included. Real world people Yes, Game world people, well it never occured to me to worry about what they thought, so I guess that's a "no" But again, it's not about me. It's about the use of that all encomposing, no exceptions provided, word "All" But that's just it, I usually play with the all Chat options Off. So I would not even see their complements. But only if you actually see it. If you are not aware of it, then ... Well, now we are bluring the line between the RS world and the real world. My answer in each case is: "Who cares" and "Yes" Wow. I don't know what to say to that. This is a guy that has worn dark sunglasses every year, to hide his tears, for 39 years whenever he made his yearly visit to his daughter. This is a guy that helped put his friends in body bags to send back stateside. When someone goes through that kind of emotional pain, he considers something like RS, to be totally insignificant. Yes, but again, no one's perfect. Sigh... I think that we have a big gap in understanding here. I can only hope that you will never have to experience, first hand, what my old friend has. And that's great, for you. I think that's it's the "life experiences" thing. Burdens that other players carry can change one's emotional outlook and put things like RS, in a different perspective.
  22. Well, I believe the original claim was "All" instead of "many" So, yes, I certainly believe that "some/many" players act in a way to draw attention to themselves. But not all I guess that would be me then... Would you like me to stop posting responses in this thread? I will if that's what you want. Very nice, clever Exit strategy (a variation on #9) Well done!
  23. lol Interesting perspective... Can't say that I agree with it though.
  24. I'm not sure that I understand why you feel that way. That list was basically a compilation of typical evants and typical behaviors. You may very well find yourself experiencing those sorts of things, many times, from the position of the "right" player. So, you know, "Don't shoot the messenger just because you don't like the message" Strictly speaking, that is very true. However, some players do have more knowledge than others and I, for one, am always glad to learn from them. Hmm, well that list was not directed at any particular player, (honest), and, IMHO, is does capture some of the interactions on these forums. So, I'll leave it as is. But, please feel free to contact a mod to have him/her remove it. Either way is fine with me. Ah, but you are interacting with that "flesh and blood" person purely within the context of the RS world. If I acted in a manner to impress player X with my skill set and gear then I could even bump into X in the donut line at Wal-Mart and neither of us would ever know that we were "that other guy" in Rs. Most of us know (in real life) only a few of the 2000 players on a world server. So, most of the time, the "impressing" that we do in the RS world doesn't carry over into the real world. Now, if you are talking about a small group of school or neighborhood friends, then things are a little different. Sigh... Personal attacks? Friend, I assure you that I am not trying to avoid any issue. But clearly, we don't have the best communication here. Maturity, maybe? Life experiences, perhaps? A sense of perspective. After all this is just a (kinda) silly computer game that many of us play for a bit of fun. My 84 year old friend, if he played, would definately not give a hoot about impressing other players. People that I don't know and might not ever interact with again. So, Why would I care what they think? If I went for a walk along an Italian Beach and I saw a group of guys sitting around would it make any sense at all for me to puff out my chest and try to look studly so that I might impress a bunch of guys that I don't even know? Especially if I was flying home that night and would never be back? Well, no. Honestly. I usually don't talk to other players. I am usually focused on training instead. The few times that a player has complimented me, I though to myself "Ok, here it comes. He's gonna ask me to be his best friend or to give him some addy ore or smith him full mith or whatever." I definately did not "enjoy" the encounter and would not seek to repeat it. The statement "All RS players play to impress other RS players" is simply not true. The statement "All RS players enjoy compliments from other RS players" is not true, barely, but only because of the word "All". It would definately be true is the word "Many" were used instead. You might not believe me, but consider my 84 year old friend. He has a severly mentally delayed/challenged daughter in a special institution in northern Virginia, he witnessed, first hand, almost all of the launches during the 1960's during the race to the moon, he spent a year on the front lines of the Korean war as a forward observer and watched friends get their heads blown off, and he's slowly dying from prostate cancer. Do you really think that he is gonna get his ego stroked by someone complimenting him on his full rune? Some RS players have had vastly different life experiences and have a totally different perspective on this game. I really don't know what more than I can say to convinve you that some of us really don't care.
