  1. This has zero discussion value.
  2. Have you read any of the thread on RSOF entitled Wildy/Free Trade Thoughts ....? (QFC: 16-17-689-62163886) Quite a few people think that with free trade, they will now be able to transfer all their wealth from their ancillary accounts to their mains. I guess they dont need those accounts anymore, now that the referendum has been railroaded through. What Im hoping happens: (1) Membership surges in February as everyone buys members for all these accounts (2) Transfers are made (or not made, depending on your view of what Jagex will tolerate) (3) Membership drops like a rock as all the ancillary accounts are cancelled (4) That rat bastard Gerhard ends up with egg all over his face I don't see what your point is. Mine is that A. People in favor of free trade/wildy have a lot to gain from YES vote and that therefore they are motivated to B. Use their multiple accounts to vote for the referendum
  3. Scandinavian isn't just one country, it's a group of countries. America on the other hand is one country. Also, Jagex is british, they don't care about something that far away :D On another note. Maybe there will be... February Bts hasn't been released yet. Although it seems unlikely since wildy/trade is comming back on the 1st. I was under the impression that they waited until the last week of the month to release BTS. Wildy and free trade release will probably be the update for the first week. I'm hoping for a decent skill update and/or quest to counterbalance that on the 2nd week.
  4. Wannabe mod. It came up in this thread and I posted a short summary of my thoughts. Anyways, I have a problem with Java atm so I can't log into RS at all. I checked the forums though, and as expected, people are once again hoarding any items and supplies having to do with combat. Luckily, I stockpiled a decent amount of most necessities, and I can always fall back on gathering and making these things myself if needed. However, I do think that pvpers without a large bank are going to be hurting for the next 2 weeks if they didn't have the foresight to prepare earlier.
  5. well that's stupid   No it's not. <_< It lasts 10 hours of combat, or about the same as the effective bonuses do during double xp weekend. It's also a seasonal event with a pretty big time window to complete. I see no reason for Jagex to encourage no-lifers to camp these in order to speed toward a 200m xp goal even faster. Be grateful and take it as a bonus event with decent, useable rewards. It's DESIGNED to last 10 hours in combat for NORMAL people. In reality it only lasts 500k bonus xp, roughly. Which is still 500k more xp than you would have gotten, obtained with minimal effort. Don't get so greedy from this bonus event.
  6. The number supporting free trade/wildy are bound to be skewed in favor of yes votes. People who voted yes are simply more motivated toward making sure their side won the referendum. In addition, the referendum counted number of accounts who voted, not number of people. Think of how many accounts the average PKer has and you can get the general idea of what happened. Only Jagex knows exactly how skewed these results were though.

  8. Well after hearing about the reavers, I have a theory that their aggressiveness does not solely depend on mage def. Perhaps this is because it's magic attack is not completely negated by prayer. For those of you still be attacked, what are your other defensive bonuses?
  9. Just a note: With my setup, you don't get piled regardless of whether pray is on and off. Also, here' the inventory I use: Pots are: 3 extreme attack 3 extreme strength 1 super restore 12 prayer pots 1 restore special I pray mage and use turmoil.
  10. Reasons why I think ceremonial still has room to rise: 1. There's only 3 spawns per world, and the spawns are all much slower than normal monsters. 2. The number of players who have access to them is small compared to the majority of RS players. 3. There is no level requirement to wear them. This is important as ceremonial robes are accessible to demand from pures and skillers who will want to incorporate them into outfits. 4. The number of people killing mages has dropped drastically as many people have given up on slaying Nex. I rarely see more than a couple people on even the busiest worlds now. Almost all of these people are getting KC, and not exclusively killing mages. 5. It looks a lot better than kingly. 6. The drop rate for ceremonial robes is lower than people think. Out of ~1400 kills, I've only gotten 8 pieces. That's a drop rate of 1 in 175 kills. You also have a small but not insignificant cost of 50k per trip + the pots and supplies you'll need to kill them efficiently. As for trading... you'd need a massive amount of ceremonial to trade for a torva plate. In this instance, it would function the same as trading any type rising for a single item.
  11. It's one way only. This hinders standard camping a bit, up to the point where I do not recommend trying to stay here for hours and hours on end. Instead, I like taking ~2 hour trips with my inventory that allow me to cycle between the 3 spawns with speed and predictability, aiming to kill each mage as fast as possible. This allows me to pick a world with a rather high population in order to compensation somewhat for their extremely slow spawns. It's possible that your magic defense may need to be a little higher. The easiest way to find out whether or not this is true is to experiment with different setups. It's not difficult to get to, and 50k for a key charge isn't that high. I forgot to mention that I bring a sara arrow in my ammo slot. It's the only god item you need on your way to the frozen door. You're welcome. I expect the value and street price of ceremonial items to remain high for quite some time, unlike most people who expect it to be the next kingly. If you're interested why, I can list the reasons here. ;) Therefore, this makes these mages a good way to get rid of junk (when selling cere), or as a rising to use in trading for more "useful" things. I also like how they look.
  12. Hey there. I saw you at ancient mages; you asked me how to make the reavers unaggressive. :) I've been back to kill these mages fairly consistently since the release. My tally is currently over 1200 kills, so you can be fairly sure my data is accurate. 1. This is untrue. You only need 80-85+ mage defense for them to become unaggressive. This allows you more leeway while building a setup that also maximizes attack and strength. 2. Neither option is ideal. What I do is bring a couple uni pouches and one super restore to start with. They don't poison you that often, so right clicking the Cure ability works very well. Also, they drop 3 additional super rests often, so you will never run out of summoning points. I recommend praying against the mages at all times while in combat. 3. No. 4. Absolutely! You don't need anywhere near 70m to make such a setup. Currently, I use: Verac helm Fury Karil top Bandos tassets Dragon boots SW cape Whip Barrows gloves Dragon defender Berserker ring Which gives me the following bonuses: +128 slash attack +249 stab def +239 slash def +250 crush def +87 magic def +239 range def +118 strength +21 prayer You can easily substitute the bandos tassets with something like a verac skirt to make a very affordable setup. You could probably even replace the Karil top with black d'hide. Note that my defense bonuses are high enough that even when I have claws equipped, they don't fall enough to make any monster but mages aggressive. Hope this helped. If you would like, feel free to PM me in game if you have more questions. I'm up for duo LS as well, since this place is now usually empty and boring. RSN: Holiday Tact
  13. I know... would be nice if I could could "charge" them with power by getting more Zaros KC. I'd love to mage in this.
  14. Got my hands on full ceremonial. :) There's a neat, short emote using particles if you have all 5 pieces.
  15. MASS DEATH MASS DEATH MASS DEATH! Fixed. Edit: Has anyone tried freezing her with ancients?
  16. I did a good chunk of my magic at w44 soul wars. Casting burst at the opposing team's bandages with a water staff and clay hats from SC, I was getting at least 60k xp per game, or about 170k xp per hour, not including xp from zeal. If you were to barrage and make use of all the damage boosting equipment out there now (SOL, arcane stream, magic/ext magic pots or a wolper) this figure will be much higher, easily in excess of 200k+ xp per hour. With the hp xp and zeal factored in, you're looking at 300k+ xp an hour.
  17. I'm an American, and frankly, the fact that this thread even exists is a testament to the American mindset. Yes, people of other nations have pride in their countries and exhibit acts of nationalism; however, rarely would you see them post something that basically says "...and this is why we're awesome!" It's something in the American identity. Not only are we taught that ours is a great country, but we want others to know it. We're open, opinionated, and sometimes downright stubborn, so it's no surprise that Americans evoke such a strong reaction from the rest of the world. It's not as people from other countries have an image of how Americans think and behave for no reason; these things grew out of actions that we as a nation have taken. I come from a multicultural background; my parents immigrated to America from China in their 20s, and I was raised here. It's interesting and striking to note the differences in how the two cultures think. My mom used to tell me that Chinese people place value on a job well done. It's doing the task to the best of your ability that's most important. However, what's most important to Americans is not that you did a great job, but that other people know what a great job you did. Otherwise, if you're not receiving any credit for it, then what's the point? Therefore, I think what's most revealing about this thread is not a debate about how much Americans have contributed to society. We can all agree that many of these inventions have made an impact on our world. It's the underlying thought process which I think deserves more discussion.
  18. Thanks. The planner I use is this one. I copy and pasted my design onto MS Paint, and delineated the doors and walls a bit more with white lines. I also added different color shading to the inside rooms and places that needed more explanation. It takes a bit of work, but the finished plan looks much better. One of my friends has an underground house. Pretty much everything is located in the dungeon, and when he turns on PvP mode, the entire place becomes a battlefield.
  19. My house: I used to have a piecemeal design, but I tore down everything and rebuild it on a new plan when I got 80 con. Things of interest: 1. Rooms that are used often are clustered around the entrance portal (marked in green) within a 2-room radius for easy access. This includes the quest hall (mounted glory), chapel (guilded altar), kitchen (level-boosting teas), study (telescope, lectern), workshop (armor repairs), portal rooms (6 portals), and menagerie. 2. I like my house to be symmetrical, hence the two separate wings divided by one long garden with one room on each end. 3. I have room for further expansion on the second floor of the north wing if needed on the red squares. 4. My dungeon is still incomplete because the good monsters and decorations are not available until I decide to go for 99 con. Currently, there is an entrance in the garden marked in yellow, as well as a trapdoor in the throne room. A corridor links the two. Eventually, I will build a dungeon off that corridor in a figure-8 shape, complete with a 2nd combat ring, chapel, and treasure room. 5. I will probably build a 2nd skill hall in the future in order to mount more trophies. My current one has a KBD head. This 2nd hall will go where the parlor is now, with the parlor either being moved one square south, or onto the new 2nd floor of the south wing. The stairs in the hall would go both up to the 2nd floor and down into the dungeon. Edit: Added pictures.
  20. I avoid the wilderness usually and will probably do so even more in the future. My memories of the pkers pre-removal of free trade were that most of them were arrogant and self-centered people who couldn't type a complete sentence to save their life. At least in recent years they've been relegated to worlds where I can't see them.
  21. Imagine the rants if there wasn't.

I was tricked into coming in here thinking it would be a rant about dancing... No support
