15-Nov-2011 - Breaking Dicing
I give it less than a week until the majority of the dicers have found out new, good ways to keep earning money of players gambling. This was a really unnecessary update. Sorry, Jagex, but this battle is already lost. As long as you don't remove gp from the game, gambling will be in RS.

Statistics of the F2P game
Certainly the drop in players in F2P is a problem. I really hope Jagex realizes this soon too, and start to build on F2P instead of deconstructing it.

11-Nov-2011 - More Loot = More W00t!
Well, the weekend was good for me. I didn't play that very much, but I still managed to get quite a few nice items from barrows; 8 in total. 4x Dharok's Platelegs, 2x Dharok's Greataxe and 2x Torag's Platelegs. Enough to make me a nice 4M :). Plus all those runes and 2 crystal keys as well as 2 d meds.

Time to do some barrows then. Was quite some time ago, this should be fun (and profitable) :D

Rejuvenating Runescape
Nice friends. All my friends know I play, and they honestly don't care. They don't see it as anything other then an online game. I've had 1 person out of the entire school comment about it not being worth the money. Everyone else didn't care. I don't get the point of hiding one's interests. If someone won't accept you for who you are and what you like, that's their problem. I also agree with rhup. Doomsayers have been around since I started playing in 2005. If RS ever closes down, I'll be there until the end. I don't see it closing down in the close future however. The OP seems most concerned over unused areas, but it's been kind of like that since the GE was released. Why stand around Seers when you can teleport to the GE and put your stuff up for sale while you do something else. Not as much player interaction, but I never liked standing around trying to buy stuff before the GE was released. I just had to reply to you here, Den. I have as well told almost all my friends and classmates about that I play this game. And there's a very few who have NOT teased me at least a little because of it. Runescape is looked down at as a kids' game (at least here in Sweden). But the important thing here is that I don't care. I know that there are a lot of people who are older than me that play and enjoy the game. And most of the times I don't discuss Runescape with any of those that tease me about it, but rather I discuss RS with those of my friends that play similar games themselves. Especially when I was in high school RS was looked down upon. I didn't care too much about this though. If they prefer that silly WoW, let them play it, I will stick to RS, I thought. And I am still playing. OT: I can agree with that the player interaction have decreased with the release of the GE and more and more teleports. But I don't think that this really have made the game worse. Jagex have just removed a lot of "have-to" interaction. Many times it was hard to find a buyer or seller of the items you wanted. The GE have made that much easier. I understand your point of that the "old way" of trading was a great way to get to know more people and make friends, but why not just go to any popular skilling place today and start a conversation there? Or why not the GE? The players are still there, you are still there: Go get to know some more people! Also, to all those doomsayers in here: Just because the bots are gone and the real population of RS is now more visible, we're now not less real players than we were the day before the bot nuke. Runescape won't die in another couple of years.

Swedishboy7's blog! Going for all skills 80+!
I have been working hard recently with gaining back my money. And it have given me quite a good result: I now have 5,1M gp in a nice little pile in my bank. I have mostly been killing blue dragons recently, but I have also done some herb runs. Another source of income have been all the nice donations I have received (including a win of 999134thpure's hide and seek games, I am not sure if that is a donation though...But I count it as one :P ). A big thank you to all of those who have donated to me! Here are some updated pictures of my recent level ups (118 combat achieved!), donations, clues (quite a few good ones lately) and some more stuff: Combat 118 Setup for dragonkilling (thanks to 999134thpure!) Clues Bank: [hide=Whole bank] [/hide] Some donations A big thank you to Nac Fan who have donated some basic armour, weapons and supplies to me as well! Thanks also to all those who post and support me!

Bringing new players into Rs
A great question indeed; What does Jagex need to do to make more people join the game? I will here give my opinion on this. I think that the first thing they need to do is to change the picture of Runescape as a kids' only game. Right now a lot of potential players are deciding not to join Runescape just because they believe it's packed full of 13 year old noobs. Sure, there still quite a few of those, but there's also a huge load of mature players participating in a good way to the Runescape community. I believe that Jagex is already working towards this with more and more high-level content releases. Because by advertising these changes and updates to the game the picture of Runescape being filled with only noobs is changing (would a 13 year old noob have any use of the Dominiom tower for example?). Another change they need to do is to, as many have already stated, the grinding. I think Runescape is great as it is, but if there's something people complain about with Runescape nowadays it is the grinding nature of the game. Sure: Grinding makes Runescape unique. But why not add more options to grinding so that the players themselves can choose how to train their skills? More distractions and diversions, mini-quests and an expanded, repeatable task system could all be methods for this. Then we have the combat system. Make it more dynamic, Jagex, and let us ourselves gain more control of it. Finally, be more active on the advertising part. I haven't seen an ad for Runescape on a gaming site for like forever. If the game is to grow you need other people to know about it. This game is too good to be unknown. Steal those WoW-players now, Jagex!
