About 83 black dragons killed for me and I've gotten a sheild left half so far. However I am running low on bolts and my crystal bow is at 4/10 I think so once I am out of bolts I Think that I will go train slayer with my crystal bow for a little, then recharge both bows, make/buy some mith or higher bolts, and go back for a little while. I also have about 12k chaos that I am considering using at metal dragons, since I was going to do this before the update came out. Maybe you should add are we using a ring of wealth? I so far have used it for all but about 2 kills.

I kinda noticed this but didn't really think about it. If you think about it that might be good for you dkers because the prices could go up a tiny bit on the drops. Otherwise I think its a good update. Getting a firecape has been easier and easier with new clue scroll items, prayer switching with still attacking, and some other things (although I like it getting easier since I don't have a fire cape 8-)) so that should be a little more challenging Edit- could someone confirm that the safespots in barrows have or haven't been nerfed. Becuase if they are then that ruins the whole method of not using a prayer pot.

Gratz on that, I had no clue that they were still worth that much.

In my opinion cross bows are very good now, but they still are not all that better then a mage short. For how easy it is to get say steel arrows comparred to steel bolts, msbs are still better to train with, but rune cross bows are more fun. And for the person who said that range is better then magic and melle, that is not at all true. The fact is that now range in a way is more fun to train because they have updated items that no-one using.

I'm not exactly sure what mine was, but all the people asking for pics of the person hitting a 101; I think that Laikrob (tip.it mod) might know where to find it as they were gf/bf to the best of my knowlege.

So it still gives strength bonus? Because there was an update/mistake in the kb and the str bonus was taken away there. Very nice vid btw.

Now I think the combat tryangle is how it should be. Each group has a "chance" against the other, but the easiest way to defeat eachother is using the tryangle. The only thing that I look at is that mage can beat melle but doesn't have all that great of a chance of defeating range. Where as I feel range has a better chance of deafeating melle. This is offset by the fact that magic is used in everyday skilling and getting around, where as melle and range is not used in these two catagories (not including grapples).

With iron bolts and a rune c bow, black d hide, dark gloves, snakeskin boots, zammy book, archer helm, and glory, I am maxing out at 15s without prayer or pot at 81 range, the new update is pretty amazing if you ask me. Edit- with steel bolts I've hit up to an 18 with no prayer and a 21 with prayer with addy and prayer I hit a 26 and 23 and the mith seem to be glitched, every time I shoot with them the special works (the enchanted poisen spec) but without prayer I hit a 20! Taken from the other thread, since then I have not hit anything special (because I stopped training with a rune 'c bow).

Hey m8 thats alot of bows. If you get another one is there any chance that I could "borrow" it for a little. (I would give you plenty of money/items in return so there would be no point of stealing it). I'm just trying to figure out if it is a good weapon to train with like iron arrows.

I would suggest to use the cannon at daggnoths, maybe train defense or something with melle while cannoning (if you wanna be a tank) and to use the chinchompas at ape atoll. Also with just range armour the daggnoths are still gonna hit you pretty high.

OK well it definitly is not nerfed. Now just a litte bit more info. I was fighing a lvl 120 (somewhere around there) with 99 range and a dark bow in cw yesterday. We pretty much 1v1d eachother as I wanted to see how good the dark bow was against armour etc. Now take in mind he was using rune arrows. With me using torags legs, karils top, glory, rune boots, and a crystal bow he was able to hit me extremely high. His specs tbh sucked the highest he hit was like and 8-8, but take in mind he was wearing guthans skirt, karils top, rangers, glory, and sometimes even a guthans top. After his specs I figured that I would own him but it turned out with the normall shots (rune arrows also) each time he would hit at least a 18 on one shot. I am pretty sure that this bow is very good, but not overpowered. For all you people who are complaining, mages should complain its the combat triangle, and mellers as muggi said you have a weapon that is poisened, can hit 35-35 specs four times in a row and is only worth 50k. Thats just my opinion.

Two dark bow drops 26 kills apart. I'm 87 slayer <3 ehh narback joo are pissing him off.... :evil: hehe anyway that goes along with my theory (a little bit) that when on a slayer task you should have like a 20% higher chance of getting a slayer drop from the monster. Anyway hopefully you can find a way to get 99 slayer soon :D

So do you feel that it would be better to train with a dark bow and say... iron arrows then a crystal bow. I am just curiouse.

Are you seriouse guys... stop flaiming him for god sakes alot of peope haven't even seen a picture of the bow like this. Back on topic; its funny how you have all the armour wielded yet you still managed to have the right amount of range bonus that the bow has alone. Ehh, think the bow is big enough? :D :)

Nice bank for your lvl. I'm not so sure thats 70 mil but wether or not it is its still very nice. EDIT- ok with the easter and pumpkin that makes sence...

This is exactly what I think that most high lvl slayers are going to do (I meen it as a complament). Once most of them go back to training etc and the people who have bows stop trying to sell them so much (aka train with them as a normall weapon) the bows will slowly start to rise. I think that this will eventually be somewhat like a whip. Not many people will camp there instead most people will only kill them as a slayer task. One thing that I feel Jagex failed to do this update was make it so that you have a higher chance of getting slayer items when doing a task. I think that this would also help out the price of bows and whips alot. Right now I think I might try to buy a bow and see if they do go up in price in a couple of weeks later.

Personally I still love my crystal bow. I would like to see the dark bow be tested with arrows that are steel or iron, and against people wearing melle armour (rune or higher). I'm still not sure that this is a great update. You've gotta remember that people who are hitting 35+ on specs are using dragon arrows and all of the other range bonus. In the wilderness normall tanks wear verac skirt, black d hide body, torag's helm, attractor, and the other normall items. With that your range bonus will be substantialy lower. Another thing is that mellers still have the dds spec. say you hit a 28-28, 20-15, 34-20, 10-14. That still adds up to 169 damage. The one thing that gives rangers the upper hand in this case is that they can hit 80+ damage in one hit which gives players much less time to eat.
