TIF is bit over-moderated
Oh, so you are not happy with people being selective about what they tell about bans? It's not us that do everything to keep the system as secret as possible, so i don't think it's fair for any of the admins to complain about it- people have been wanting a more open system for a while. Admins are not selective about what is shown or spread rumours about bans and warnings, but keep the whole thing quiet. This isn't done to protect us but users. Many people will not want to see their name plastered around the forum if they are banned or warned as it can be both embarrassing and has the chance of making them feel as though they are being made fun of if they are shown out as a rule breaker. You have to remember that admins cannot suddenly change how things work. The team cannot suddenly make all the staff forums visible or our records public as there is a lot of sensitive material in there. It is not black and white or clear-cut as just being more visible and open, which is a bit of an unreasonable demand to ask for so bluntly. There is talk of making some things more public, but it cannot be done overnight. Until things are changed, it would be nice to stick to the rules we currently enforce, such as not talking about bans at all if possible without the whole story being known, as it does not help the situation at all.

The F1 Thread 2012 Season
I was pretty much speechless through the whole race. Everybody overtook everybody at some point it seemed. Overall, great race from Webber from a bad quali, the same for Rosberg although disappointed he lost page in the last 10 laps. Disappointing race from Renault this time around.

Is anyone else just completely disappointed with everyone?
If people cannot discuss things in this thread civilly then they will not be allowed to discuss it here at all. This thread has been left open for the reason that people felt things need to be aired in a respectful manner. If somebody disagrees with you and you think they are flaming, report them but do not reply to them, otherwise you are likely to get your posts removed just as much as the other person. Obtaurian. Constantly referring to everybody as unicorns is doing nobody good. From a personal point of view (not staff) it just makes you look like somebody who has zero respect for people with an opposing opinion. You have stated your opinion numerous times yet keep bringing up the same thing over and over when everybody already knows your view. It looks in my opinion as to be doing nothing more than bringing the discussion down. It is impossible to discuss when you are adamant changed won't happen or that the staff have already made up their mind (which I will tell you is 100% wrong).

Guess the Game
I have never seen that game but I'm guessing it is some sort of racing game?

Banning the burqa
I don't think they should be outright banned, but they should be heavily discouraged. There is nothing good about wearing them, other than their perceived religious status, which is fairly bogus due to how obviously rare they are in modern western societies which have a high Muslim population.

TIF is bit over-moderated
This is such an infuriating claim which keeps cropping up. The Tip.it forum has had rules enforcing the Runescape rules for at least 7 years now, long before any sort of recognition by Jagex. As far as I am aware, the rules did not change at all when we became a platinum status fan-site. Any claim we bend over backwards for them is just an un-based accusation. I would agree there are probably things we can do to help enforcement of it, but a majority of the time it is clear why we remove things according to these rules.

Getting hacked RIGHT NOW
He could use the acccount management area to lock his account. This would allow him to scan his computer and change his password/recover it without the risk of losing his account. He could then request it to be unlocked at a later date when he is sure it is clean.

Intellectual Property
I think people get that you migrated to another forum, you do not need to keep mentioning it in an attempt to. (that is as a user not staff, it has been niggling me the pst few days) On your final comment (before the edit), just because one administrator has one view does not mean that people cannot disagree. Just like you have been arguing it should be removed, other users think it should have been kept open. Would it not be inconsistent of us to not allow discussion of it now?

15-Apr-2011 - Guaranteed Content Poll: Boss Rematch?
I'm not quite seeing how it is undermining democracy. It's a small vote as either a gesture from Jagex that they want community involvement or they want to know which boss we liked best so they can make an update which we like. Oh and I voted Delrith.

Soundcloud embedding
Having never used it I'm not sure. Would it be used a lot?

Intellectual Property
He was asked politely multiple times to not post in the manner he was posting in and continued to do so. What do this say about him? To me it says he doesn't respect the people who maintain this website for no benefit of their own and then let people use it for free. Wait, so are you openly admitting to claiming ownership of his guide out of SPITE? C'mon, Mike, that's absurd and you know it. Can you honestly say he did not want it removed out of spite? In Bladwings original request, he actually requested for us to add in somewhere to the topic that it was no longer being maintained, as obviously he couldn't post on it any more. We complied with that willingly, seeing his point. He then ended with something along the lines of "oh you may as well lock/delete it too". It was considered, but as it wasn't a direct request, and the fact that the guide is useful to the users of the forum, it was kept up. Edit: It was then after people started kicking up a fuss that they posted on behalf of him asking for it to be removed.

Should you be able to buy items?
I personally wouldn't buy anything for Real world money. I never have in other games I play either.

Methods for killing bots:
Well, that wouldn't be the most honest thing in the world to do now would it. I do wonder, who has killed more bots, players or Jagex?
-
Intellectual Property
Yes, the mods were nice enough to leave a clan topic open in H&A because we knew it would be useful.

Efficiency Trolls
The Above goes for everybody. Tip.it staff have on numerous occasions said that if you have a problem with moderation, you are more than welcome to bring them up in the appropriate channels. This is: Pm an Administrator/moderator with your problem Post in the following thread which has been left open specifically for users to give feedback on moderation http://forum.tip.it/topic/291488-tif-is-bit-overermoderrated/page__view__getnewpost In-line with the forum rules, posts talking about moderator actions outside of these areas will be removed. We will give you all the respect you deserve if you approach us by the correct channels. Considering the above, any further posts talking about moderator actions in this thread will lead to actions being taken against accounts. Enough warnings have been given. Unlocking this now.

Suggestion Tip.It forum Rules
I agree and it is something we are currently discussing (for trolling).

Deflection Skin Bugged
Well IIRC Sy was staff before he IPB switch-over so things may have been different back then, not too sure though. This is getting a bit off topic though. I'm sure Peter will be along at some point soon with an answer to the problem.

Deflection Skin Bugged
When did it start? Any chance in a screenshot? Does it happen all the time or randomly? I'm no good with this stuff but I assume Peter would probably want to know the above.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rnFi8L5z8BE http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UPaVfmC_JJU I would definitely try one of those if I had members. I wonder if it can be applied to other bots which are in a combat training or gathering situation in which they need to eat.

Clue Scroll Help
Acount sharing violates the Runescape rules which are strictly enforced on the Tip.it forums and therefore asking for somebody to go on your account is not allowed. Please read the forum rules when you have time to familiarise yourself with them http://forum.tip.it/topic/48092-tip-it-forum-rules/ If you have any questions on the subject, feel free to PM me. Thanks

Efficiency Trolls
The problem is that warning somebody for being wrong is not the way things should work. Hell half of the users of the forum would be banned by now for posting wrong information at one point or another. Warning for being wrong is not in the rules and will never be. It is up to the more respectable users to be the 'bigger man' and walk away. If you can disprove their claim in a sensible and non offensive manner by all means do, but if you cannot and their argument is subjective, say so and move on. To you their argument may be 'blatantly wrong', but unless you prove it, they won't know. Brb telling people to train strength on cave slimes. What? It's fun. Now that would be considered trolling as you know it would be bad advice. At this stage I am giving up discussing this as we are going in circles, I thought we had almost reached a compromise but you decided to take your normal stand-offish approach. The system as it currently stands is that posting bad advice is not reportable. Posting bad advice with the knowledge it is bad is trolling and action would be taken against the account. If you disagree, you are welcome to follow the link in the current announcement regarding feedback on the moderation. If nobody is willing to be more respectful and stop flaming each others views whenever it comes up, it is you're own fault said area of the forum may decline as we have done all we can to accommodate both camps.

Efficiency Trolls
If you are going to be quoting me, please at least read the posts before it. It isn't realistic that a thread would get replies like that. As said in my last post before this, It is up to you to disprove their claim in a respectful manner. If it is all subjective, then post you're information and move on. If it is that much better, the OP will recognise it and do it. As for your last point, I feel like banging my head upon a wall. That is almost the whole point of this thread. Why then if you laugh at somebody doing something in an inefficient way should I not laugh at somebody doing something in an efficient way? I'm not hurting them in any way, just having fun.
