I did this last summer (well 9-5 with 1.5 hour commute) and after the first two weeks you can get used to it and still find time to do some fun things during the week, plus you can definitely still do summery things on the weekends! it's definitely not the end of the summer haha, you still don't have to deal with having homework you should be doing at all waking hours of the day like you do when school's in session.

If you want to do more things on weekends, be the one who starts making plans rather than fishing for invites. In high school I built up a pretty large social circle because I would have bonfires at my house almost every week that gradually got bigger as I met more people, and I'd always have plenty of other plans on the other days because people came to my stuff. Joining a club helps a shitton too if you haven't, I met most of my friends through theatre and marching band. And you don't have to do anything that extreme if you don't have the resources, even organizing trips to the movies, asking people to hang out, etc is a good start; it will make people want to reciprocate that and invite you places back in exchange if you guys have fun. idk idc about fights why watch fights when you can get drunk and do happy things w the squad last night at my college town today and it was a fun way to go out, gonna miss it but itll be nice getting to be home for a while before i move to cali fr the rest of the summer i had hawaiian piza but i wasnt enough so i had mac n chesse too but i walswys add too much hot sauce hi

God its so nice being done with classes. Went to a pretty great party Wednesday and woke up yesterday to a friend asking me to come hang out with her to smoke off the hangover, which turned into beer pong on the porch with her and her roommates andme getting pretty drunk by 3 pm. Ended up getting some froyo after and came home to rest for a bit before going to a bar night for my honor society. The bar night was really weird. It was from like 7-9 at the bar so that under-21-year-olds could get in but the bouncers were being extremely rude to us even if we didn't resist having our hands xed. Also, they [bleep]ed up our reservation so that instead of getting the basement to ourselves like we normally do at these kinds of events we were seated at tables within direct eyeshot of the bouncer, which was really lame as it obviously made it more difficult to talk to everyone there. It was fun though for a bit. My friend that organized it ended up getting kicked out at the end of it for supposedly drinking underage even though she legitimately hadn't drank anything the entire night and was just moving a beer along to someone on the other side of the table (while I was sitting next to her and managed to get through a bear fight and 2 extra jaeger bombs without being called out for the xes on my hands at all lel). Still, kinda sucked and most people went to other bars after so I ended up leaving with her and another friend to smoke at my place and chill for the rest of the night. It was pretty fun overall.

Well, have a bit of an interesting plot twist with no-hug-girl: she ended up texting me last night while I was on my way back home from a party saying she was sorry that ended so awkwardly and she just didn't know what to do because she was awkward and i didn't have to text her back if I didn't want to. I replied saying it was okay and that she was really cool and I'd like to hang out again if she was down. She replied saying she was "leaving the city in morning but if you're home maybe we can" (our hometowns are about 45 minutes away from each other). Drunk me told her I'm here til friday and asked if she was up to anything then, to which she said she was eating ice cream and doing dishes and she wished she was kidding. I took that as an invitation and asked if she wanted to hang out and watch Rushmore (we both had geeked out over Wes Anderson movies on the first date) instead, but it was too late by that point so she said to let her know when I got home. Guess I'll see where this goes when I get home on friday~

finished classes today. Found out that I ended up killing my hardest class, getting over 100% on the last project and the exam which I needed badly, bumped my grade in the class from a C average to a B+ somehow. However my last exam didn't go too hot, I think I'm still good enough to pass but it's a bit of a bummer. [bleep] CS theory and NP-reductions though haha Now to devote this next week to a SaqPretsian homage to alcoholism~

Just had the most awkward end to a date ever lol. We just got coffee and we had a shitton in common and I thought it was going well. After it ended we were walking the same way for a little while and eventually we hit the point where I was going to split off to go back to my apartment. I tried giving her a hug goodbye and she looked at me, said sorry, and started walking off in a different direction. So [bleep]ing awkward lol, didn't really know what to do so I just kinda stood there and laughed for a second before walking home. gg

finished my final programming project for the year at 3:30 am and i just feel freer than i ever have in my life except i cant fall asleep for whatever weird reason even though i didnt have any caffeine so im downing sleepytime tea and hoping for the best

Staying in to do homework and have not been able to find any motivation to do anything at all. Sucks cause my whole week was super productive up until yesterday and I really need to focus on final projects and such. Bleh.

Ended up doing really shitty on my program that was due today which is a bummer but I'm going to see Joe Hertler and the Rainbow Seekers again tonight so this'll end up being a net positive I hope.

There, fixed. And it is Samus, btw. Milk (and dairy) used to be our biggest export back during our first independence. So it is good here, compared to most of the world. Injuries are annoying ;_; hopefully it was just a form mistake and after a couple days off everything will be fine, though I've never experienced this before. I have a massive project due friday and absolutely zero motivation to do any work on it even though I know I'm super behind at this point. mnleh. At least the new Sufjan Stevens album is really really really really good

theoretical computer science sucks and upper level math sucks and in other news I have a massive problem set due tomorrow but I've read about 200 pages of a fantasy novel today so my priorities are right Also, I finally managed to find housing for my internship for the summer! But holy SHIT rent is expensive in the bay area. Ended up having to pay a hell of a lot more than I originally wanted but at least that's out of the way now and I know I won't be homeless lol

Spent the whole weekend at the district convention for Circle K, a community service organization I'm a part of. Wasn't really sure what to expect but it was a ton of fun getting to meet people from other clubs and people in my own that I haven't talked to as much before. Met a really cute girl there from a college 10 minutes away that I got along with really well and ended up dancing with for a bit which was fun but after she added me on facebook today I found out she's dating some guy that's like over 30 years old...awkard. Still a fun night though, haven't danced that much sober since a high school dance but I got a bunch of compliments on my dancing from some girls I knew which was really surprising lmfao, never happened before.
