Just finished Sirens of Titan by Kurt Vonnegut today. I enjoyed it more than Slaughterhouse 5, but less than Cat's Cradle. I forgot how much I loved Vonnegut's style and characterization. Like all of his books, it certainly leaves you with a lot to think about; this one brushes on free will, the meaning of life, and how irrelevant they actually are to think about. However, it stays very easy to read, and Vonnegut keeps the story humorous along the way. I definitely would recommend it (unless you haven't read Cat's Cradle in which case do that asap). I think I'm going to read Mother Night next, then Breakfast of Champions. just waiting on Amazon giving me my gift card credit for selling my textbooks back ;_;

Weather finally hit 80 degrees Fahrenheit here and it's beautiful. I tried going for a run but I had a really strange pain in my knee. This is the second time this has happened in a row so I'm going to just take a week off and hope it heals a bit. Really going to miss the exercise though heh.

Started my internship today. The place is pretty cool but we spent the whole 8 hours today getting all the interns' computers set up. While I realize it's important, it was incredibly boring, and the 1 hour drive each way didn't help. Hopefully tomorrow will be a little bit more interesting lol.

I've never heard of people using MDMA to study, only adderal and the like. Some of my friends use caffiene pills as a substitute for adderall, which may be more legal, but I still wouldn't really advise having to use a drug as a crutch to study.

95.5% of Crimean voters have supported joining Russia. Seems legit.

I don't think I've ever had this much of a workload in my life. 4 programs due over the next week and a half, plus an economics quiz monday and another programming problem set due tuesday. But I mean on the bright side I have an internship interview with WorkForce Software tomorrow, which, while stressful, would be a pretty solid opportunity for me to both have a productive summer and still be able to stay at home. A pretty massive career fair is coming up next week though which is stressing me out, but if I can get this internship offer at least I'll be able to relax by knowing I'll have something to do this summer no matter what, haha.

Had a pretty fantastic weekend. Went out with some of my bros I haven't seen in a while Thursday, had a formal for my community service organization and an afterparty on friday, then came home for a good friend's 21s birthday on Sunday. The last of those was my first time having Sam Adams and 1800, both of which were pretty damn awesome compared to what I'm used to drinking at school. Tonight, however, I've been spending the whole night working on Computer Organization homework, which is incredibly frustrating. Anybody that thinks C++/Java syntax is tricky should try their hand at writing assembly code and straight machine code and count their blessings, haha.

>chrome >ads You're welcome. I watch a lot of YouTube videos and Twitch streams so I don't run adblocker. I'm willing to let advertisements run if I know I'm supporting whoever I'm watching. You can set it so that it doesn't block ads on those specific sites.

God damn this has been a fantastic break so far. Just got back from one of my best nights in recent memory. Just the guys over and we smoked a bit, played some Risk, saw Anchorman 2 (which was just phenomenal, definitely worthy of the name), and came back and just ended up talking until about 3 am, after which we all went to a coney island (a type of 24 hour diner for those who don't live in Michigan) to top off the night. Funny how the nights that are completely unplanned like that tend to be the best ones. Not really sure how interesting the actual holidays will be though but I'm sure I'll manage lol.

Yeah a lot of rap is more about the delivery than what is actually being said to me. I used to only like "conscious rap" but as I got more into the genre I started realizing how good the other stuff is as well. Anyways, that show was fantastic. Kendrick had an extremely solid set, and afterwards Kanye's set was just perfect. The stage effects/lights/pyrotechnics were all perfect for the songs, and he played pretty much everything I wanted him to (his set was pretty much all of yeezus, half of my beautiful dark twisted fantasy, and all of the singles off his other albums except for touch the sky and gold digger which seemed like strange omissions to me). The only strange part about the set was that after runaway he went into this 20 minute... sermon, for lack of better words. It started off as an inspirational speech, saying to follow your dreams and all that stuff, and how all of his bad publicity lately were just because bad interviews give him better publicity than good interviews, but then it turned into a speech about how he thought he was going to be the next Walt Disney and complaining about how he couldnt find a major fashion companies to sell a pair of shoes he designed. It was... quite bizarre lol. Definitely a fantastic show though. As for the 2013 hip-hop discussion, I thought Yeezus was fantastic. I acknowledge it's an incredibly polarizing record, but all the experimentation really worked for me and it was definitely one of my most-listened to albums of the year. Yeezus and Run the Jewels were my favorite rap albums of the year. LONG.LIVE.A$AP, Sadistik's Flowers For My Father, and Juicy J's Stay Trippy were also all excellent. Old, Trap Lord, Acid Rap, and Pusha T's My Name is My Name were all solid but none of them really seemed to do as much for me as they did everyone else; I only still listen to a couple songs off each. Oh, Nothing Was the Same was pretty decent too. Really says something about how fantastic of a year 2013 was for music when there were that many great albums to talk about in only one genre though haha.

I can't figure out if you've never actually listened to his music and are judging him based on his media persona or if you are just an elitist [wagon]. I am all 3 my good sir. Why bother? All elitism does is piss other people off. It won't get you any respect from anyone who isn't insecure enough to look up to somebody like that.
