What iPhone did you have? I'm switching from my android over to an iPhone for the first time because of battery issues, but I don't wanna get an iPhone that can't handle iOS 8 because I assume it'll come installed with it. Keep in mind iPhones also eventually develop battery issues over time.

Yo Sorry I haven't really been around much, I've been focusing too much on school to do much more than work. Anyways, everything's going really solid for me right now. I'm all moved into an apartment with some friends instead of a dorm, and while cooking is a pain in the ass I love everything else about it and the guys I'm living with are all awesome. I'm an officer in two student orgs on top of my schoolwork, and while I barely have time to exist, being the officer of an honor society is paying off like CRAZY. My school's big engineering career fair was monday-tuesday, and I already had an interview with Harris today and have interviews with Arbor Networks, National Instruments, and QualComm over the course of the next week. Plus I've gotten back into lifting once classes started and I'm already about to break 200 on my deadlift (which while might not be a TON, I'm really happy with that for only 3-4 weeks of lifting haha). tl'dr life's p coo

Yeah I tried going that route these past two years and it just led to me not playing at all :/ I lost interest in marching band-styled snare drumming after high school so it became incredibly difficult to stay motivated to practice that kind of stuff, even if it is applicable to everything. I'm really hoping having the electric kit up here changes that lol.

It's taking some getting used to but I like it so far! I still definitely prefer my acoustic but the acoustic kit takes up way too much space and is way too loud to practice with when I'm off at school, so it was this or basically go another 8 months without playing again, and I really didn't want to do that. The hardest adjustment for me right now is getting used to the hi-hat; the pedal feels dramatically different than a real hi-hat pedal and there are a lot of nuances that the kit doesn't really pick up on. It might be a good thing though; it will definitely force me to play a lot cleaner. I'm still really excited about this, I guess I'll have to see if I still like it as much in a few months.

Last night I had my last bonfire with my friends back here before I move back out to school. It was a fantastic night; I'm going to miss everyone here but I'm ready to be back. Also, finally picked up an electric drum kit because I'm finally going to be in an apartment where I have room for one. It's taking everything in me to not just play it all day, but I've still barely started packing and I move back tomorrow. heh. [hide=Picture][/hide]

That blows that you've had such a bad experience :/ I've only taken really low doses of mushrooms but I'm not really interested in more because I've heard a lot about it being a lot harder to control than LSD. Were you in a good place mentally and did you have a sober trip sitter? Mindset and setting are SO incredibly important when you take psychedelics; it's the difference between having one of the best nights of your life and ending up in the hospital after trying to fight off eight cops (as happened to a friend of mine who obviously is not in a very good place right now). I've been coming to not even like booze too much anymore. I haven't had more than 3 drinks in a night in 2 months. maybe that'll change when i get to college though and I don't have to deal with the inconvenience of arranging rides home/bothering friends to crash and won't have the free time to smoke as much as I do now/have to clean out for potential internships though. I ended up seeing one of my closest friends for the last time before he goes off to school for the first time. It's so awesome seeing people break away from community college. It was a pretty good time, just chilled and had a couple beers. Heineken is a lot better than I remembered it being. Also, today was the last day of my internship. They had a recetion for all the interns and gave us all company laptop bags and cake, which was nice. It was a really good experience but I'm glad to be done with it. I have one last week at home to get all of my stuff together before I move back to Ann Arbor. It's just crazy how fast this summer has gone by.

One of my best friends from school is coming to my hometown to visit for a night, so I tried planning a bonfire so she could meet some of my other friends... aaaaaaaaaaaand of course it ended up being a night where every one of my friends that she would have known there and the people I really wanted her to meet are going to be out of town for various reasons and only people on the farther edges of my friend group that don't really know each other said they could come. ;_; i'm just hoping it doesn't turn out awkward as shit at this point lol

Bonez, nobody ever reaches a final decision about that kind of thing, even after they establish a career. Just keep studying what you're interested in and take the most appealing options that you have available. Last night I did acid for a second time with three of my best friends. LSD is such a beautiful, beautiful thing. There's just nothing like tripping with a couple of your closest friends and just having amazing conversations for hours on end and appreciating how beautiful the world around you can actually be. And I mean I came out of it finally able to understand free jazz, so that was a plus haha.

Saw Nine Inch Nails and Soundgarden last night. Soundgarden opened, they were pretty solid but their set dragged on a bit too long after they opened their set with all of their hits. Nine Inch Nails was [bleep]ing fantastic though; there was just a ridiculous amount of energy and the lights were fantastic too. I don't normally go to big outdoor shows like this, but this was far and away the best concert of this size that I've been to. Afterwards I went to a friend's going away party. I ended up doing my first kegstand there and wound up blowing beer out my nose. #partypro

Yesterday I found out that one of my friends who is interning at Microsoft currently referred me for an internship there for next summer. I got an e-mail saying that I was a top candidate and to send my resume in by next week. I just got it submitted tonight and I'm ecstatic. Might being joining you there soon enough Blake :P Also, I'm about to head out to my first music festival, Blissfest. Needless to say, this is one hell of an amazing weekend for me.

If you think it's overrated you might've just not had the right steak. I used to feel the same way but then I switched from getting my steaks Medium instead of Well Done and now they're beyond magical.

Last night a bunch of friends and I went to a fireworks show. My best friend and I thought it would be fun to try making edibles from some previously vaped weed before we went. We put the stuff on a toasted nutella sandwich and went on our way. I didn't feel much until we left the fireworks about 3 hours later, but she was flying the whole time and was starting to not be able to hold a sensible conversation when she left with her straight-edge boyfriend. Apparently she got worse after she left too; I'll have t check in with her later. Still, I had a great time with my other friends after the show when it kicked in; there's just nothing like jamming good rap in the car with your friends when you're stoned. We tried watching Sharknado after but we all started falling asleep and gave up. Still, great experience would recommend / 10 I feel a weird tightness in my chest/stomach this morning though and I'm really confused as to where it's from. It isn't painful, just uncomfortable. Hopefully it'll just go away though; probably just not used to dealing with having so much thc in my body.

Dude a week is already so much longer than most people can make it when they try quitting, you've got this! Life's been pretty great. Hard not to be when I've gotten to see Foxy Shazam and Andrew Jackson Jihad within the last week haha. Plus one of my best friends just got off probation, so it's been great being able to smoke with him again. This summer's going way better than I had originally expected. Also emojis are bizarre and the only use I have found for them is putting needless caterpillars at the ends of half of my texts

Just started this book when you posted this and already finished it last night. Coming from someone who has just started working their first full time job, it really hit home on pretty much all the doubts I had in the back of my mind about the path that it was leading to. I can't second this suggestion enough.

If you're not thrilled about teaching I wouldn't recommend something like that. You can always go visit him for a couple weeks while he's out there instead of completely uprooting yourself for a year.
