    Concerts

No, they're horrible. They barely hit any of the notes right in solos, and They hit about 80% of the notes in pother places. Look of some live videos on youtube if you want. Going to see Against Me!, Serj Tankian, and Foo Fighters tonight :D:D. I'm really excited, I haven't been to a concert in nearly a year.
  2. I think "Pass it to Arab" By Soulja Boy is his worst, though I've never heard "Booty Meat"...thankfully. Lol.
  3. I never noticed that this got put up >.>, sorry... I'm definitely going to look into these guys, but right now it's late and I'm procrastinating from doing my midterm essay. Maybe tomorrow...
  4. While I am no expert by any means (all I know is what I've read in this thread), I just don't think she wants to risk getting pregnant.
  5. I really like a lot of their stuff (basically everything except "wake up," "Just Like You," and "Riot") and saw them live twice. Both were really good shows.
  6. You've succeeded in winning me over :D. I recently bought the spirit of radio compilation after playing "Tom Sawyer" on Rock Band. It's awesome.
  7. I read the whole thing, and it was a very good guide. I'm going to pick up vapor trails and power windows first, I think.
  8. I just started listening to progressive music, namely Dream Theater and Porcupine Tree, and I've heard from a LOT of good things about Rush. What would be their best 2 or 3 albums to get me started and to give me a sample of their music?
  9. Meh. I heard of something like this before, but I thought the guy's name was LoveLock, not LoveSTock. I still think he's exaggerating.
  10. Very good article, I'm definitely going to look into them.
  11. You aren't alone. NWA? Northwest Airlines? That Manowar song was hilarious.
  12. Mine has changed quite a bit since my last post, so I'll post my new ones: 5) Three Days Grace 4)Nirvana 3) Iron Maiden 2) The Beatles 1) Thousand foot krutch, they will always be awesome.
  13. Download Belarc Advisor, it is a really good program shows detailed information about all of the hardware, software, and Windows patches installed on your computer. It should tell you what type of sound card you have there.
  14. What exactly are you asking? How to download mp3 files illegally, legally, or load them onto an mp3 player? If it is the first or last one, I can't help you. If it is the second one, sign up for an account on Amazon and use it's download sevice, they have really good prices for mp3s. They can't be bought at a library.
  15. Piece of Mind. It was the album in between Number of the Beast and Powerslave, and also my favourite one by them. ;P Thank you, though I got that and Fear of the Dark a few days ago. I'm going to get Seventh Son and Somewhere in Time next, I think. These guys are getting more amazing every time I listen to them.
  16. Nightwish - Dark Passion Play Genre: Symphonic Metal I know that a lot of people hate their new vocalist, Annette Olzon. I know that a lot of people think that Tarja, their old singer, was an amazing vocalist. I don't care. I never really cared for Tarja's operatic vocals, but I heard that the new singer on Dark Passion Play was good. I fell in love from the first time. "The Poet and The Pendulum" is one of the best songs I've heard. "Bye Bye Beautiful" has incredible choruses by Marco, their bass guitar player/ Second vocalist, and "Amaranth" is really catchy. All of the instrumentals of the songs are good as well (There was an instrumental version of every song on a second CD). Rating: 10/10 Thousand Foot Krutch - The Flame In All Of Us Genre: Alternative Rock I'm not going to rite a whole new review, so I'll quote myself from my article on them. Avenged Sevenfold - Avenged Sevenfold Genre: Mostly Heavy Metal Avenged Sevenfold's new album is no City of Evil or Waking The Fallen, I admit. It's still an incredible album, though. I love the vocals by the drummer in "Critical Acclaim." M. Shadows, the lead singer, uses a vocoder in "Lost," and though it is weird at first, it still sounds good. "Dear God" is a country song, and I cannot get it out of my head. Even though all these songs are good, "A Little Peice of Heaven" is the best song. It is really hard to describe with words... so listen to it for yourself. 9/10 Atreyu - Lead Paper Sails Anchor Genre: Heavy Metal Like Nightwish, this band drastically changed their vocal style for a new CD. They old screamer is just backup vocals as far as I know, while their drummer sings throughout the whole album. This was the first album I heard by Atreyu. They barely scream on this CD, which I am grateful for. The guitars on "Doomsday" are really good, as are the vocals on "Honor." Though, there aren't really that many completely diverse tracks on this CD as there are on the other three. The whole CD is good, except for "Slow Burn," "Falling Down," and "Blow." Any other song is good, though I recommend "Honor," "Doomsday," and "No One Cares." 8.8/10 because of the filler. Good Charlotte - Good Morning Revival Genre: Pop-Punk...I guess. Every song sounds really different, though. There is pseudo-rapping, hard rock, and other stuff on here as well... A lot of people hate Good Charlotte. A lot of people hate every band, for that matter. I probably should stop pointing that out. This album is incredible. Obviously, why else would I be posting it in a best of thread? Anyways...They have a slightly more dance oriented sound. "Broken Hearts Parade" is very catchy, and I love the horns they use in it. Also, "Breaking Apart Her Heart" actually has what I consider to be good lyrics. Maybe my standards are low, but I don't care. Other highlights are "The River" due to its use of 2 members of Avenged Sevenfold to make a hard rock song, "Keep Your Hands Off My Girl" because of how unique the rapping is to the band, and their current single, "Dance Floor Anthem." Too bad there has to be filler in the form of "A Beautiful Place." 9.2/10 Maroon 5 - It won't be Soon Before Long Genre: Pop This CD is really easy to listen to and really good at the same time. The instrumentation isn't legendary, but it makes me happy to listen to. Much better than Songs About Jane. The highlights are "Makes Me Wonder," "Wake Up Call," "If I never See Your Face Again," and "Won't Go Home Without You." Sorry I don't have anything else to add, just every song is amazing on the CD. 9.7/10 ...Yeah. Those are the CDs I listened to most that came out this year. :P
  17. I've seen you post about your band earlier, though I never looked at it. I will do so now :P. Back to Iron Maiden... Alright, I have Number of The Beast and Powerslave...what album should I get next?
  18. What do you mean? That they aren't metal? They aren't tho. They are rock music not metal. Iron Maiden is Heavy Metal.
  19. I started listening to metal in August. I got a few CDs that Erk (02) here reccomended to me. Basically, Master of Puppets and the black album by Metallica and Countdown to Extinction, United Abominations, and Rust in Peace by Megadeth. I listened to the stuff for a while, and I really liked it. I asked him for more stuff to start listening to, and he pointed me towards Iron Maiden. The first CD of theirs I got was Powerslave, and it was brilliant. I think that 2 minutes to Midnight and Aces High were the best songs on the CD, though the whole thing was good. Recently, I acquired "The Number of The Beast," and it is even better than Powerslave. The whole thing is amazing, though I like Number of The Beast and Hallowed Be Thy Name best.
  20. Thanks for getting this posted, assassin, and thank you, everyone, for the kind words! Their slower songs are very good. They have 4 of them on the new CD ( "Wish You Well," "Favorite Disease," "My Home," and "What do We Know?). Though, I think This is a Call is the best of the slow songs. I still like the harder stuff better. Hmm...I can start working on a few more now. They would end up being the two bands that got me into obsessed with music in the first place. :P. Though, I'm not sure if I should submit them to be championed or write up separate posts.
  21. I can't say I've ever heard of them. Can you put in some Youtube links or something?
  22. I knew someone was going to put Smells Like Teen Spirit. True, but they are still a lot more intelligent than stuff like 'Crank That" and "A Bay Bay." 23. I mostly listen to Rock or Metal music, especially Metalcore. My favorite bands include Avenged Sevenfold, Bullet For My Valentine, Metallica, and Iron Maiden. A lot of musicians of that Genre make music that requires some thought in the lyrics. Because of my tastes, I very seldom listen to popular radio. I do know most of the popular songs, though, as I sometimes watch MTV Hits (a small MTV channel that lays popular crud all day long).Today, though, I was extremely bored, so I put on the Mainstream radio station... To be greeted by a shout of "Youuuuuuuuuuu!" I listened to the rest of "Crank That," and looked up the lyrics afterwards. I was shocked by their stupidity. This guy must have wrote this song in 5 minutes. It has to have some of the worst lyrics I've heard recently. For those of you who don't know "Crank That:" [hide=Crank That (Soulja Boy) Lyrics] Yooooouuuu! Soulja Boy Tell 'em I got a new dance for y'all, it's called the Soulja Boy. You gotta crank that three times, from left to right. [Chorus] Soulja boy up in this Ohh Watch me crank it Watch me roll Watch me crank that soulja boy Then super man that Ohh Now watch me yooooouuuu! (crank that soulja boy) Now watch me yooooouuuu! (crank that soulja boy) Now watch me yooooouuuu! (crank that soulja boy) Now watch me yooooouuuu! (crank that soulja boy) [Verse 1:] Soulja boy up in this Ohh Watch me lean and watch me rock Super man that Ohh Then watch me crank that robocop Super fresh, now watch me jock Jocking on them haters man When i do that soulja boy I lean to the left and crank that thing (now yoooouuuuu!) I'm jocking on you (jocking on you) And if we get the fighting Then I'm ... on you (on you) You could catch me at yo local party as i crank it everyday Haters get mad 'cause I got me some Bapes today [Chorus x2] Soulja boy up in this Ohh Watch me crank it Watch me roll Watch me crank that soulja boy Then super man that Ohh Now watch me yoooouuuu! (crank that soulja boy) Now watch me yoooouuuu! (crank that soulja boy) Now watch me yoooouuuu! (crank that soulja boy) Now watch me yoooouuuu! (crank that soulja boy) [Verse 2:] I'm bouncing on my toe Watch me super soak that Ohh I'ma pass it to Arab Then he gone crank it up for show (show) Haters wanna be me Soulja boy, I'm the man They be looking at my neck Sayin its the rubber band man (man) Watch me do it (watch me do it) Dance (dance) Let get to it (let get to it) Nope, you can't do it like me dope, so don't do it like me Foe, I see you trying to do it like me Man that Dance was ugly [Chorus x2] Soulja boy off in this Ohh Watch me crank it Watch me roll Watch me crank that soulja boy Then super man that Ohh Now watch me yooooouuu! (crank that soulja boy) Now watch me yooooouuu! (crank that soulja boy) Now watch me yooooouuu! (crank that soulja boy) Now watch me yooooouuu! (crank that soulja boy) I'm to fresh off in this Ohh Watch me crank it Watch me roll Watch me crank that Roosevelt And super soak that Ohh [x5] I'm too fresh now watch me do it Watch me shuffle Watch me Yoou Watch me crank my soulja boy Now Super man do it [x3] [Chorus] Soulja boy up in this Ohh Watch me crank it Watch me roll Watch me crank that soulja boy Then super man that Ohh Now watch me yoooouuuuuu! 24. Not at all, I forgot to mention it o_O.
