  1. Yes, you can use the abyss for them. Had to use them myself since I didn't have talismans.
  2. http://forum.tip.it/viewtopic.php?t=532 ... ge+crystal This post has a picture of where to go to recharge it. It's down the page a bit.
  3. I agree with Solidus. I've played other MMORPG's that usede that sort of system. But they also had a different way of determining xp gain (basically it was random when you attempted an action), in a situation like that it worked. Since, take smithing for example, you could smith, re-smelt, get half the bars back, repeat and not gain any xp. So there wasn't a problem with people power leveling too much. With RS having a level cap, that can be achieved in a few months time of constant training on a single skill, adding something to "cut back" on the actual gathering of materials might make it too easy.
  4. Thats not entirely true. They can deposit any item, but they can only take out construction supplies like planks and limestone bricks, and I'm not sure if that goes for depositing aswell, I'll go check. But you can bring most noted items with you, and have your servant un-note and bring back too you. I'm not sure what items they won't do that for, bones is the only one that I'm sure of. As for depositing, as long as you have the bank space, they seem to deposit anything.
  5. Locking since you've been pointed to the better forum for that.

  8. you dont need food to train at pc. why waste food/needing to bank reguraly at fire giants when you can do it for free at pc No different than having to log out and go to a new world, log back in, when you have to switch to better world. Besides, with Guthans, food isn't a direct neccessity either. As for banking, take nats and lava staff, high alch anything good and don't worry about anything else. You never have to leave (except for randoms that might take you away). Just as "easy" as PC in my opinion, plus as Stewie pointed out, I don't have to depend on a team of others to efficiently train. The only thing slowing me down training on fire giants, would be me. I agree that PC is more efficient than regular training (a bit, as I said, a friend took nearly 4 weeks from 85 to 99 attack, even being part of a PC clan).

  10. Well, as most players put some emphasis on the combat level, it's only natural some people will want to accomplish something at the lowest combat level possible. And I'm sure it's been mentioned, but it is a bit of a challenge (at least starting out). Getting places is a lot more difficult without teleports. Granted you can buy tele tabs and jewelry (for members), but this also makes you more dependent on other players. Basically, it's just something different to do, as Shazarabbit said, most people either level up all skills equal or concentrate on combat skills. This is just a different way of playing.
  11. 1. I thought you had to be level 50 to do the wall safes as well as the maze. But I'm probably wrong. But they are very good xp. 2. You just click on the safe and wait to open it, nothing else to be done. What I did was click on one, once opened clicked the one next to it. Going back and forth with no respawn time (which isn't much) at all. 3. Rogue's den, under the pub in Burthrope. There is a trapdoor next to the bartender. The wall safes are in the big rock in the middle of that room you go down into.
  12. on the side of the hill that is too high, there are rocks to climb up. hover your mouse over the east side of the hill till you find where to click.
  13. Randoms don't appear in the bank  Tell that to the sandwich lady that sent me to lumby because I was reading the forums. \
  14. Haven't had but 3 in about 4 days. Fletching maple and willow longs in bank, figured I'd be getting more.
  15. Now before you hit the reply button and assume exactly what this post is about, read first. It's a bit of a different look at Pest Control(PC). Not sure if this will be very debatable, talked with Swampjedi about it and he said post it and he'd keep an eye on it. This post is NOT about low levels in PC, when referring to players using it, it's to be taken for granted that it's meaning "high" combat leveled players. Basically the question in this post is: Is Pest Control too easy of xp or is it the high level update players have been waiting for? One of the things that keeps popping up whenever someone says PC, is that it's too easy to raise combat skills now. I'm not going to argue this point, but I don't believe it makes it much easier, maybe just a little. As an example a friend of mine just got 99 attack there. After close to a month of playing PC. When he started (around 85ish attack), we were looking at the tip.it fighting calc, he would need around 20k fire giants for 99 att. Now as much as he's played in the last month, I don't see why he couldn't have done almost 1k fire giants a day, which would have gotten him to 99 in about the same time (maybe a little longer). I think it just seems easier, since you get a huge chunk of xp at one time. Granted there is the "safe" aspect of PC, but if you're paying attention training regularly is also "safe" On the other hand, for high leveled players, there is now something that is worthwhile to actually play. Most of the complaints I see when Jagex releases a quest/minigame/etc. is the the reward is basically worthless to high leveled players. Which is a bit true, how much of an impact will a reard of 2k mining xp from a quest be for someone with 65+ mining already? Lower leveled players receive "more" of a benefit from those rewards (a level 3 skiller can do Knight's Sword quest and jump up to about 25 smithing, basically never having to smith a bwonze item at all). But now, there is a minigame, that high levels can use to efficiently train their combat skills a bit more.

  17. Leaving this open for the time being, as the discussion here is a bit different than the posted link. The other is for listing what people get, to offer a guide to the possible rewards. This one seems to just be asking if it's any better now.
  18. Argh, where were you when I was low leveled farming. Well done guide, even a few tips and tricks for more advanced farmers too. Great detail and explanations. Small note: The amulet of nature also chimes in low detail when you're wearing it and plants are done/become diseased.
  19. Also, not sure if this will be a permanent feature (wouldn't see why not), but the players on those beta servers can still talk to other players on the original servers. So it won't seperate other language speaking people that much. They just won't be on the same world as their friends (or some of their friends). I remember reading that they were going to be making different language versions. I think it's a great idea, as others have pointed out, it opens up new markets for Jagex. Someone who isn't very fluent in english(or at all) may have seen RS from a friend or advertisement and wasn't interested since they couldn't understand it. And it won't break up the community too much, as any english speaking person can go to the german servers (when public) and play with their friends if they wanted. Except for the chat, most everything else would be recognizable due to placement. For example, you'd still use the same runes for casting spells, so you wouldn't need to know what the word for chaos is. And the spells will be in the exact same order, so while you may not know the German name, you'd still be able to figure it out.
  20. Also, depending on if it's lower than you hunter level. You could do tears of guthix minigame every week. At level 8, you should be able to advance a level or two each time each time.
  21. You could also use miscellania to collect them if you've done both the quests.
  22. I've always liked herblore, and with being able to grow my own herbs, I fell in love with farming also. So once I got to growing my own ranaars (and had plenty of seeds saved up). I started growing them and selling prayer pots. Also at the time, the seeds were going for around 15-20k, I could get 10 seeds for 180k, plant them and make at least 300k from the pots, then buy more seeds. Kept doing that till I had gotten around 3 mill gold.
  23. Tip.It's IRC info. Should have everything you need there.
