:: Pyramid Plunder Guide - Fastest Experience ::
Nice looking guide. Going to use it to see how close a week of doing the mini-game can get me to 99 thieving. Kudos, one question, what armor (if any) do you recommend to bring? Or is it better to just go with least weight possible and fight the scarab things defenseless?

Redesigning the Wilderness
Sorry if this offends you and anyone else who made suggestions like this, but it is an awful idea. The wildy without risk is meaningless. Jagex will NEVER make people unattackable in the widly, as it is the wildy's entire purpose. This feature would only be abused by skillers and pkers who want to avoid getting into losing battles by toggling it on and off during their trip. Exactly. It's the worst idea I've heard since trammel in Ultima Online. Esentialy your taking out a large chunk of PvP out of the game if you did that. As my idea borders on that, I do have to say I agree with you. Trammel was the worst thing to happen to UO. Granted before Trammel, I never left the city limits. But afterwards, it was almost too easy to play the game. Going to the other "pking world" (can't remember the name of them). It was like a ghost town, you could wander around it without fear of being pked because no one bothered to log in hardly.

Why is runescape community the way it is?
True, Jagex does push the "fear" of account security a bit too hard. But it's not without reason. For every "safe" 3rd party programs there is out there, there is probably at least twice as many that aren't "safe". While it's not really Jagex's fault if people download these things, they still want to make sure that players know. I imagine they get a lot of queries complaining about something that "looked" safe and wasn't. And not only with Jagex's warnings, but then players see all the "I got hacked" threads on forums and even in game. No matter how many of them are from real "hacks", jus the fact that people see a good number of others complaining about it, will make them a bit more cautious too. One last bit (and don't take this personally Pulli23), is that while some players with programming knowledge may make something innocent and helpful doesn't mean that it will stay that way. With the nature of the internet, you can only judge a person by their actions that you see online. Once trust is gained, who is to say that they won't try to use that trust for their own gain? Granted, I've never used any 3rd party programs. I use the client open in one window and Firefox in another. Tabs for quides, calcs, tip it forums, official forums, etc. with no problem. To me, a 3rd party program, might make it handier, but an unnecessary risk. EDIT: Reported this thread to see if it might be moved to Debate Club. It might be worthy of some good discussion there.

Decline in Treasure Hunters?
Being that I'm currently on a "quest" to fill my Treasure Chest in my house by collecting items rather than buying (currently doing level 1 clues), I can say that there aren't as many people down in the HAM hideout. I started doing this, about a week before the new items were released. As soon as they were released, it was a madhouse in there for a little under a week. Since then it's dropped off a lot. At any given time I'm down there, there might be about 4-5 others (not counting the occasional "death to dorgeshun" quester). While I agree with Peronix, that as far as making money. There are better, faster ways. And that's the problem. Everyone looks for the get rich quick way of doing things, not a bad thing. But clues definately not the quick way, although decent money over time, most people don't have the patience to take that kind of time.

Redesigning the Wilderness
If any changes should be made to the wilderness this is something that will never happen. The wilderness is the only place in all of Runescape where you can be attacked freely by pretty much anyone. It used to be/still is to some, a place of fear and danger, if you went there you would most likely die. I would hate to see your idea implemented, it wouldn't be a place to fear anymore there would be noobs everywhere, drop parties and looters. The only area on the map where you can actually die from another player would be taken away. The best training spots (well used to be still in f2p) would be taken up by basically noobs and idiots. That said I agree with what you said about the health bar, not sure about the clan support thing you mentioned, i'd have to think about that some more, sounds to me like it could be easily abused. I'd love for the whole of the Runescape world to be wilderness but as that will never happen i'm going to say I pretty much agree with what Nadril said about fixing it. True, like I said in my original post, it would unbalance the game if favor of skillers. The reasoning behind my original thoughts, were, that pking is player vs. player. As such, I don't see much "skill" in killing defenseless, unarmed skillers. It would make more sense for those that want to pk, to fight others who want to pk. And I do understand that rune miners and green dragon hunters would at least make it worthwhile to pk for the ores and hides they would have. And that at least dragon killers have armor and weapons to at least put up a fight. When I used the wild agility course, I was pked countless times. Just let them kill me, teled back to ardy and used lever to go back. Never took anything I was unwilling to lose, because I didn't want to lose it. Never took anything to defend or attack with that i was willing to lose, because I wasn't there to fight. I was there to train agility. This is pretty apparent. Don't get me wrong I like the diversity of the game, I like occassionally being able to do some mining as you can't do that in many other games. But to implement your idea would completely ruin the game for me. The wilderness is the only area where you can kick some n00b butt, where those rs2 products that irritate you to end can actually be killed. Sorry, but that can go both ways. Non-pkers don't have a monopoly on immaturity. Many of the times I was pked, they were kind enough to tell me how they had just "owned" me (without any armor or weapons). At least with a choice, you'd be able to see who the good pkers are and the ones that can't fight anything that can fight back. Maybe some other dangerous threat could be added to those who choose to skill and not pk.

Oh Mee Gee, Whistle! How again?
According to this post: http://forum.tip.it/viewtopic.php?t=565760 You'll need your holy table napkin to get it again. If you don't have the napkin anymore, you won't be able to get the whistle.

best place to mine iron and bank?
If you've done lost tribe and started RFD quest, then the cave goblins is pretty fast also.

Redesigning the Wilderness
Only meant unattackable by other players, in the wildy. Still can be attacked by monsters/randoms. Skillers won't be completely safe, just safe from pvp combat.

Redesigning the Wilderness
Being a non-pker, my ideas will probably make a few people mad, Although it's all specualation. I have no idea if these ideas would be possible (programming or Java limtations). Also, it would seriously unbalance the game (in favor of skillers) Each time you are entering the wilderness (by walking, teleporting, or whatever means), you would be asked if you wish to be a pker or not. If you choose no, then you can't attack or be attacked by any other player while in the wild. Furthur to that, you cannot interact with any other players (tradeing). This would make it some pkers couldn't have a "safe" friend to give them more food, items, etc. and not get attacked. This would also mean that teleing (except for things like the lever from Ardy and the tele portals in wildy) would not work. As all players have made their choice, and should be suitably prepared for whatever happens. As for the pker side of the changes, one of the biggest problems I hear about is pjers and tag teams in single combat wild. To counter this problem, when you've both stopped attacking each other, there will be a 30 second time limit that you are safe from attacks from anyone else (except the original attacker). What this would mean, is that if someone attacks you and you auto retaliate and they stop attacking you so that another player can attack instead (to get you to skull or whatever), then the 2nd player won't be able to for 30 seconds. If fighting and one of the parties runs, then they can still be chased and attacked by the original attacker. And if you kill someone, then you will have a small bit of time to eat/prepare for anyone waiting to jump you. Clan support would be added. Anyone that is part of your clan cannot be attacked by another member of that clan. As well as support for friend clans. Any member of a clan that is friendly to yours (as would be added to the list by clan leader) would also be safe from attacks from your clan and vice versa (so that 2+ different clans could team up without fear of anyone turning on another). And last but not least, your health bar would pop up over any and all on screen chats. To keep people from blocking it so you don't know how low your health is, without having to change to skill screen.

How long does it take...
Not sure about the fruit regrow rate, asked the same question myself before, and no one was sure then either. As for roots, fruit trees don't give any.

Should poisen be changed
http://forum.tip.it/viewtopic.php?t=600282 - the post in question. In his post, he admits that he didn't know they were poisonous. Someone else there gave him an anti pot, when he found out they were. After taking the last dose and being low on health. He continued to push his luck. Therefore, it wasn't the poison that killed him, it was his choice to continue on and take that chance. Poison is an extra challenge to the game. Just because some people don't take the time to do research (and how much research would it take to talk to slayer master or visit bestiary here?). Then because of some aspect of the monster that they didn't take into account (or did and shrugged it off), they die from that is no reason to change an entire section of the game.

Reset
I play (and pay a monthly fee), to raise the skills. I don't want all that money and time that I've put into this character to just be erased so that I can do the same thing that just making another character would accomplish. As for listening to him, for what point did he have to erase the levels? None. He talked about making gangs and pking outside lumby and the scorp pits. Neither of which would come back if everyone were level 1 again. Same with the censor block. Maybe if there was a logical reason (and I don't see that happening), it would be worth listening too or discussing. But as it is, it's just a post to suggest a rather silly course of action by jagex. As for the part about hiscores. To me, all a suggestion about a reset is, is someone who is jealous that they can't get at the top of the hiscores and wants Jagex to make take away someone else's work so that they have the chance.
-
Reset
You said yourself people are making these low level skillers. Why reset, if it's so easy to just create a new character? Some people may be bored with their high level characters, but what of the ones who aren't? Why should they lose time (and money if p2p) just because a few people are bored. The examples you gave in your post about what you missed from "the old days", none of those would be brought back just because everyone was lvl 1 again. In fact, from your post, the only reason it seems that you'd like it done is to laugh at all the people that don't want it to happen.

Kingdom Management Farm
Because the seeds are too low leveled to be worth actually putting money into it. The seeds you get aren't worth selling (if you could even find a buyer), and the other sections are a lot better for making back your money and gaining a profit.

Kingdom Management Farm
In the guide, look in the lower right hand section of the pictue in "Managing Workers" section (just above the giant "?" mark). That's the farm option that the topic starter is referring too.

Multiple Clue's
It's possible to get clue as a drop, not pick it up, then kill a creature again and get another clue. there will be 2 clues on the ground, but you won't be able to get both of them. Once you pick up one, you can't get the other one. But, there used to be something about getting multiple clues from rewards in Manage Thy Kingdom. I'm not sure if this has been fixed or if it's still possible.

The quest cape shattered my hopes.
True, but from the majority without quest capes, you have to figure, quite a few of those players don't like quests anyway. So quest updates for them wouldn't really matter. As for those that are left, they haven't finished all the quests for one reason or another, but the introduction of a high level quest won't affect them as they still have others to complete before then anyway. And while Jagex hasn't given very high level updates in the past, that's a bit of what 123yourgone is posting about. Any hope, that Jagex would eventually come out with a few "uber" quests for high leveled/high xp players, looks like it's out of the question now. As for the difficulty of any current quests, 2 such quests that were difficult for me (MEP2, underground pass) both required "high agility", not a specific number. I've heard of people with agility in the 30's getting through underground pass eventually. If some of the more difficult quests can be done through repetition and not level of skill, then it's not really a high leveled quest.

The quest cape shattered my hopes.
umm... i declare this rant... invalid...? :uhh: :-k But what does jagex consider high level? If you divide quests into low, medium, high level. That would mean that anything level 84 - 126 would be considred high level.

Should F2p get MORE bank space?
First, holiday items can be obtained again from Diango, so there's no need to actually store them in the bank. Also, even if another 2 lines were added there would still be some players that would want more space, because they can't keep every little thing they find. I don't remember the last time f2p got more space, but completing the line they have now (as I've read in other posts). Probably wouldn't affect too much either way. Like Nadril, I'd like to see unlimited in both versions, although for f2p, I do understand the reasoning. Bank space has always been a very good seller point for members, if Jagex could be sure that they wouldn't lose potential memberships from increased bank space, they'd probably do it.

The quest cape shattered my hopes.
True, low leveled players (at least low in any quest related skill) would complain too much about not being able to wear it, and Jagex knows this and probably has to edit/change any future quests to be more player friendly. Something I thought they should do (because of my pet peeve of not being able to wear the cape whle actually doing a quest), was that they could give it a 1 quest margin. Hear me out before you hate it. :anxious: You have to complete all quests to get the cape. When a new quest comes out, you can still wear it, if you don't do the new quest by the time another comes out, then you can't wear it. Or if you decide to skip a quest (because of requirements, etc.), then as long as you keep up with all other released quests, you'd be able to wear it. Seeing as how quest capes aren't considred a skill and can't be trimmed the regular way. This could be the way to do it. Someone that completes all the quests, all the time, their cape is trimmed (unless they fail to stay within the 1 quest margin). At which time it becomes a regular quest cape. Since "high" leveled quests are rare, at best. The time between two such quests would give all those lower players a chance to raise their skills, while still being able to wear their cape.

Jagex didnt fully test Gnome Gliders update?
It's a bug, two of the glider pilots aren't responding to the glider option like they should. It's listed on the report bugs page on the main site. They're working on it, probably next update.

Fun Things to 1-Item Joke-PK With
That was my laugh of the day. Glad you all liked that, yea I laughed pretty good too when I saw what he said. Kinda OFFTOPIC: If it weren't for the fact that I have to have a full load of ess, I'd do the same thing while abyss rcing. Maybe, I'll still do it, just pretend to be an rcer and let them waste runes on me. Maybe if they start to ignore me, I'd be able to rc in peace.

Should the tradeable items of the past be taken out off rs?
A bit of speculation on the motivation. Two points to look at in the economy (as far as rares go): 1. The amount of money that is easily created and brought into game. 2. The gold piece limit/cap (not sure if I remember the amount correctly) of approximately 2.1 billion gp. Add in the rumor (fact?) that anyone passing that limit would lose all their money. With rares raising in price over time, at some point the economy would have to stabilize itself or possibly start to crash. As the prices would become too high, and players wouldn't be able to sell them, without risking their savings. A "governing force" is needed to keep an economy in check. Therefore, Jagex has started to take measures to try to stem the rise in prices, and try to balance the economy. If left on it's own, it could cause it's own depression. What would happen if rares actually reached a point where players decided that it was too much money to buy for anymore? There would still be money continuing to come into game even after that point but nothing to spend it on, or less to spend it on as rares would slowly go back down to more reasonable prices at that time. And if rares were going down in prices, would players really want to sink that much money into them? And that's enough babling from me, not sure if I made any sense, but it sounded good in my head.... :P

Fun Things to 1-Item Joke-PK With
When I was still training at wildy agility course, I'd always take an inventory of weeds from farming with me. Even got to one point were two people came up to me on my way there and one said "Wait, he doesn't have anything, he always just brings farming junk" and they went back the other way. \

The latest update stinks because ... !
True, but think of the odds of getting it from gambling. Dust devils (if I remember correctly) are rummored to drop a d chain 1 in 1000. If gambling has the same odds, then that's up to 500,000 points you'd have to earn and spend. And in all that time down there, you wouldn't gain a bit of xp. So is it really gonna be worth it to try for a chain there or the regular ways?
