Why can't F2P have...?
Personally, I'd like to see f2p get wilderness capes also. I'm not a clan person, but some friends are. And they always mention how it would be so much better having battles in f2p with other clans, if they had the capes also.

Success or Failure capes?
But it's not really the amount of the bonus, it's more, the principal of the bonus that's really being discussed.

Should the tradeable items of the past be taken out off rs?
No, they've become so much a part of the game now, that even if Jagex were to replace with money, it would disrupt too much of the game. Some players have set goals to get these items, and if Jagex were to remove that, might lose them players/customers. It was never Jagex's intention to commercialize the holidays, and it's not the intention of the people selling the rares. The rare items, for the most part, just happen to be from holiday events. Disks of returning and Half Wines being the only 2 items left in game that aren't holiday related.

Success or Failure capes?
Also with the fire cape, as opposed to training for a skill cape, each time you don't succeed, all you've done is really lost time and supplies. 2 hours in the fight caves, only to die at the Jad, and you're right back at the beginning, with less supplies. Maybe a little more combat xp, but you're not there for the combat xp (as there would be faster ways and use less supplies than fight caves). While 2 hours of mining, only to lose connection. What have you lost? Nothing. You still have 2 hours worth of xp that you were working towards. The only amount of time you lose, is the time to log back in. Overall, the fire cape may be achieved quicker than a skill cape. But you don't have to redo or start over any point while training a skill at least.

Success or Failure capes?
I also think the the fire cape should have the better bonus. As Ddrmaster7 said, it doesn't really take a lot of "effort", just time. I, personally, will never have a fire cape. I've tried about 6 times now. To the Jad, 5 times, and never got him past half-health. The healers always mess up my rhythm. And after the 6th time, I realized I wasn't having any fun with the mini-game. Fighting all those waves of monsters, just to have to restart over a simple mistake. No thanks. :notalk: So to me, anyone with a fire cape deserves the better bonus. Another point, is that the Achievment capes are more of a status symbol in my opinion.

I value the security of my account over a few extra options. While SS may not have anything that will steal my account, I feel safer not using it. Things can happen, i.e. the tip.it forums problem last year. Also, I don't have a problem having firefox open in another window, with tabs to calcs, hiscores, forums, etc. As for mIRC, I'm not much of a clan type person, so that's no benefit to me. well I always wonder why people pst things about security... Who knows what internet explore does (or firefox) maybe Microsoft (or mozzila...) collects all the passwords and just sells them to some hackers? - So why would you trust IE/FF more than any other home-made browser? pulli23 The difference for me, at least, is that both IE and Firefox are distributed by actual companies. They have more to lose than just the reputation of their name. And just because I trust the big name companies, doesn't mean I should let my guard down and just use whatever is out there.

No, it was the people like Strider. The ones who have the sense to discuss their probelms with Jagex like reasonable people.

we got 'em... We got 'em good Wow... the power of ranting and threats Funny, I read "Thanks to the people who have been helping us get these right rather than just ranting at us!" not, "thanks for all the whiney little moaning"

Ok having read through all these pages, I wanted to put some points out there. From the RS main page, one of the reasons for SS, in particular, being illegal now is the chat. People were/may have been getting scammed/"hacked"/etc. And while it is a players own responsibility to make sure they and their items are safe ingame. I'd be willing to bet that the majority of these victims, then queried Jagex, saying something like: Victim - "I got scammed using SS". Jagex - "We've warned that 3rd party programs might be dangerous." Victim - "Yea, but you never said they were illegal, so I used them and now I've lost my stuff." So now customer service has to take care of all these complaints about a program they have nothing to do with. Which causes more rants about how terrible customer service is, because they have all these "other" queries to have to go through on top of actual ones. The biggest complaint I've seen about the ban, is about the mIRC chat. You've never needed SS before to do this. Simply resize your RS window to fit the game screen only, then you have the same amount of free monitor space that you had with SS. Now open your mIRC client and resize it's chat window to fit below your RS screen. You can still see the rs screen while chatting and vice versa. I'm not going to argue whether it gave advantages or not. Those who used it will say it didn't, while those who didn't use it will say that it did. But I will ask, that if it didn't give you an advantage, then what makes it so hard to not use it?

How long does it take?? Please Read!
Plus no mail ran on today (Jan. 2) because of former President Ford's funeral. (at least that's what I heard at work, not 100% positive).

Which tree is faster xp?
Willows, that's what I used to 99 wcing. I tried a few of the higher xp trees, and the only thing that came close were Teak trees. But, like ddaann said, the problem comes with proximity to bank. Teak trees don't have any close to bank like willows. So you either burn or drop them, which cuts into your xp per hour. On willows, if I turned chat off and just woodcut, I could get around 50k xp/hour

Mage Comp Bow and Mind Shield
Unless they changed it, I remember reading on here, when the mind shield came out that it doesn't work against skeletals.

White Powdered Wigs.
Actually not that rare, just new, so there aren't that many out yet. (have gotten 3 wigs so far) As for the price, the official forums they're going for about 300k-400k, if you can find a buyer. :?

Skillcape hoods?
if you lose just your hood, is it possible to get a new one? Or do you have to lose both to get it replaced?

Private servers
Because as Aznmidget posted, most are used to pass keyloggers on to other players.

bank scroll
if the last action in your bank is to withdraw something, then when you reopen it, it will be at that area of that item. If your last action is to deposit something, then when you reopen, it will be aligned at or near the bottom of your bank. (exception the first time you open your bank after you've logged in, will be at the top)

'Behind the Scenes' giving out a little to much information?
I don't think they are really telling us everything, just a bit more details. Take the Third Age Items bit. In the 4-5 days between announcing in BTS and releasing the Treasure Trails updates, there were countless posts here and on the official forums (and other fansites probably) speculating about them. What they might be, what they would do, etc. The quest in this month's BTS, while they did state the name, didn't really give much more detail about what you would be doing, than any of the older BTS's Persoanlly I kinda like the extra details. Makes me look forward to the updates even more (not that they had any problem making me look forward to them before \ )
