  1. Plus, you'll have the nests and tree seeds that you can sell. I think you'd make a profit with not having to sell the herbs.
  2. glad to hear they unbanned you. But, as is apparent from this topic alone (plus the people who reported the poster), not everyone knows what Linux is. Just because someone works at a computer game company (especially in some deptartment that doesn't depend on specific knowledge of computers and operating systems), their qulaifications probably only require that they know the operating system they will have to use in their job. Someone makes a mistake, and all of the sudden, the company is nothing but 'trained monkeys". It's comments like that, that make me almost ashamed to be part of the RS community. If customer support is such an easy job, then go try it out and show me how to make 100% perfect judgement calls 24/7
  3. And for future reference (because I keep getting them confused myself). When they says stronghold, they mean the Grand Tree. The maze is just referred to as the gnome village. Hope that helps also.
  4. Even the player made guides forum here has some pretty good guides using different tactics (i.e. little to no prayer pots, with/without guthans, etc.). But like Mr Cheeses said, slayer dart for rune efficiency (usually get all the runes you use up back). Not sure what your current levels are, but raise your construction to make a kharyll(sp) portal (if you don't already have one). And make home tele-tabs. 2 full prayer pots each run is a bit much. Switch to your best melee armor (with the melee brothers low magic def, you'll still hit them a lot) and try not praying on torag and guthan. That should save a few doses there. best range armor for ahrim and no prayer on him. Also, make sure you're using safe spots in the tunnels, if you're tunnel brother is a melee brother, then you won't have to worry about prayer there either.
  5. Read something about having to clear our tip.it's cookies. It's some kind of conflict causing problems. there was a post on in help and advice recently that had steps to fix that.
  6. You coudl also trade finished potions for ingredients (herb, second and vial). You won't make any money, but at least won't lose any either. Doing that would make it considerably less that you would have to grow on your own. Also, make sure you've done the My Arm quest for the extra disease free herb patch. I'm not sure how good trading potions for ingredients is, but have heard that idea before.
  7. Super strength and super attack sell fairly well. Super energy can sell well, but not really often enough to make your money back in a timely fashion. And of course prayer pots. Other than that (that you can currently make) don't really sell well. At least not in quantity, you might sell a fishing pot here or there. But like super energy, they won't sell fast.
  8. From the new quest "Cold War", you can steal a cow bell from dairy cows.
  9. I agree. That's how I trained. You get a full load of fish faster fly fishing than you will with lobs. Even with banking or selling to the fisherman there, it's still faster xp than lobs.
  10. Another question about not training hp. Once you get to level 60 mage, won't it be basically a waste? Since the first once or twice you go to pk someone, you'll start gaining hp levels anyway
  11. Personally, I'm loking forward to it. It may not be filled with awesome updates that will make the whip no better than a bronze dagger. But it sounds fun. The Osman bit, sounds a bit like the "rat pits" quest, where you had to sneak past the guards. That was extremely frustrating, but enjoyed every minute of it. A new wizards tower with a "novel new training dungeon" sounds good, anything to spice up a little mage (I hope) training.
  12. Also, while you might not get more xp, you will get more airs (when you can craft multiple per essence). Thus making more money overall.
  13. in the slayer cave there (with cave horrors), in the north east corner there is a ladder up to that island. Make sure you have a good light source with you if you go into the cave. It's a bit inconvienent if you're planning on keeping the logs.

  15. it's not like they can say "now hiring customer support" and have 500 people instantly. Not everyone is cut out for CS work. So they can't just hire everybody off the street. I'll bet they get quite a few "angry" queries (especially in ban/appeal), and they have to have the temperment to let it slide and not respond the way they want to. Having worked CS before, I personally never will again.
  16. From the Jagex corporate website. Under "Credits", they have about 70 people assigned to customer support (not counting another 50 for just ban/appeal support). Since those people only work 5 days a week, average about 14 (also if you have 24/7 support, then you have 3 shifts making about 4 people per shift) CS people per day. With the game having around 100-150K players at any given time, the amount of queries/questions/suggestions/etc. is probably outrageous. If even 10% of the population at any given time send in queries throughout the day. You're looking at 10-15k queries. Again, even if you split those (fairly) equal through the shifts, that's about 3-5k queries per shift of 4 people. Auto-responders are almost mandatory, if you expect any kind of timely answer (granted if they answer). Like Umega said, with the volume of queries they have to go through, a lot of things won't be answered personally. And when they are auto-responded to, there are bound to be times when the wrong choice is picked.
  17. Thanks. At least, I didn't imagine going back to the bank.
  18. Ahh, well that explains it then. I was wondering why I was back in the place I was training and not the bank where I stopped. Didn't lose mouch except experience and time. A few drops that I should be able to get back with little effort.
  19. Last night, I was fighting Salarin the twisted under yanille. I stayed till I had 6 sinister keys. Went to the bank deposited everything (had full inventory along with keys) and then logged out. Today i log in, and I'm back in the dungeon with him, only 4 keys and another 100 casts worth of fire strike more than when I logged off. World 76 was/is the one I'm using. Anyone else experience this?
  20. Exactly Eccentric, willows are known for good nest drops anyway. "Greatly increasing" your chances for nests on them might be negligible anyway. Let's say the rabbit's foot increases your chance by 5% and the willows have a standard 20% chance each time you swing your axe for a nest. That's only a change of 1 in 5 swings to 1 in 4 swings for chance of a nest. There isn't going to be much of a difference. Now say the magic trees have a standard of 5%. With the rabbit's foot, that's an increase from 1 in 20 swings to 1 in 10 swings, chance of a nest. I don't see how you can base the "quality" of the rabbit's foot off data collected on an item that already has good chances to start with.
  21. But I've proven otherwise with my calculations. 8 mill over 4mill. Nope. Well, I'm basing my hypothesis on what I know of Invisionfree forums, which, as I've mentioned before, are of lower viewers then Runescape. Think of it like a tv commercial. A company still has to pays the stations money even if no one phones in about the product. Advertising always runs the risk of failing, but you pay just for the chance of success. First, your calculations are based on something that may or may not be like Jagex's form of advertising. I know from looking to signup for google-ads, that their payout from advertisers is some are view based and some are click based. So not every ad shown neccessarily means money in pocket. Second, while from the figures you put in there makes it show f2p makes more than p2p. By that logic, Jagex would (should) change it over completly to f2p and include all content there only. Every member (being able to keep all items and skills and still be able to use them in f2p) would stay joined up. Which would make Jagex go from making $12 million a month to around $15-16 million a month. Sorry but I don't think any business would "give" up an extra $3 million dollars a month on an aspect that was making them less money. EDIT: also think of the players that use ad blocker software (as there are probably a good amount who do), more money lost per f2p account. And thanks LordKrohn, I thought that analogy was fitting myself.
  22. Nope, you have to do the stupid thing every time. I think Ape Atol has a rune seller there... not sure though. :-k Are you sure? I buy from him every now and then without doing the puzzle.
  23. I think Ali Morrisone (sp) in Al Kharid sells them also after you do the little rune "quest" for him. I think you have to solve the soduko type puzzle the first time, then after that you can just buy from him.
  24. here's a couple from the official forum that mikehild was talking about. Quick Find Code: 37-38-760-38345583 37-38-65-38309109
  25. Willows from 89, will take around 4 weeks. That's about where I started when I went to 99, and it took about a month. I also used Draynor, so with the new place at BA mentioned it might be a "bit" faster.
