  1. The most awesome piece of guitar I have ever seen. I just watched this three times over and dang, that's some guitar work.
  2. I got that. The way it works (I think) is that they position the weights so far from the the pivet point and the lever you lift half as far away (if the weights weight half as much as shown) so that the force required to lift would be 46 newtons but the weights are only 23kg. I believe that is the setup on the machines I use as I can life 20kg per arm with a simular ammount of effort with weights as with the machine on both arms at 46kg.
  3. The end to Last King of Scotland was pretty good. Lots of tension, [graphic spoiler] The way the girl was cut up being flashed across the screen and the 'crucifuction' of the man with the hooks, the whole way the later half of the film worked out just created lots of anticipation and fear in me. The fact that he wasn't chased in the end walk made a nice surprise. I expected to have the very traditional last minute escape thing, watching the Dictator come out just as the plane took off was better IMO. [/graphic spoiler]
  4. On each arm? guess again big guy its called the barbell curl Definately not each arm :D All the weights I do are weight machines except the stuff i do at home and none of that is over 20kg (only because my weights kit doesn't have anymore weights to put on it). I max out at about 30kg for one arm, haven't really tried for a while.
  5. This time... (lol) it's not about being sexist. It's about being compared to a six-inch-high fabric model of a toy stuffed with cotton wool with no character, family, freewill or moral code! :P  I'll move this.

I've seen and read a bit of a bible over 100 years old. The only difference that I spotted was the use of language like 'thy'. I understood that the current Bible was a direct translation (or as close as possible) from the original. Yes, there are new versions that make the reading a bit easier on the eyes.... wait a minute. If you've read a Bible over 100 years old, how could the new testament have been finished in the 90's? I think they mean that the current version was finished being re-translated in the 90's. I assume that people haven't been adding to it (if they have, they need shooting). When the site says 90s, it is refering to 90 AD, not 1990. Ah.

again, in bold i think thats just what society has instilled upon us. Not society, nature. In nature, I'm pretty sure that there isn't gay couples in the first place. Secondly, if there is, they definately don't have children. Can you imagine growing up with two 'mum's or two 'dads'. Being adopted is difficult enough for a child to cope with, being adopted by a gay couple creates even more problems for the child - teasing at school, learning about sex, where babies come from etc. It's not fair on the child.
  8. Banned for not absolutally slating Blaziken for not getting the insult.

I'm split on the issue of wether it damages people/ society. If the gay couple can keep it between themselves then I have no problem with that. I'm all for gay marriage as that only involves the couple. Adoption on the other hand is a big no no. A Child should have a Mum and a Dad, being adopted by a gay couple may confuse a child and from a gay couple they wont get a father figure and a mother figure, which a child needs. For the same reason, I'm against single people adopting a child. To adopt you should be in a stable relationship with a male and female. Prostitution could be dangerous or not dangerous depending on how it is done. I believe that in Holland there are designated Brothels where you are forced to wear a condom and the prostitutes are regularly checked for STD's. The only thing I have against this kind of prostitution is that it will probally be girls with no-where to go who end up working there. To take advantage of girls like that seems cruel and immoral to me. The other types of prostitution, the illegal kind, is very wrong. There is a high chance of getting infected and the girls are definately being forced into it, either by extreme poverty or pimps. Incest is wrong on two levels for me. Firstly, inbreeding gives any children a higher chance of having a genetic disorder. Secondly, a family shouldn't work in that way. Two families should be brought together in marriage, giving a larger network of support for the couple. I think what I wrote there is relevant to this thread. It was kind of hard to understand which subject we were supposed to be discussing so I went for all of them :D
  11. The Last King of Scotland - Very good film. There wasn't much going on for the first half of this but the tension was always there keeping you gripped. Good film.

How good exactly is the Wii remote? I can't imagine it being very accurate at all, especially for games like tennis or anything that involves a swinging motion. And are FPS's a strange mix of Time Crisis and regular FPS's? I'd like to own a Wii but unfortunately I'm skint.
  13. My exercise over a regular week (with competitions and other irregular things mucking this up pretty much everyother week) would look something like this: 4 X Gym Session which means: 20mins at 12 km/h, 1 or 2 mins at 17km/hour, generally at the end of my running (to build up stamina and to make sure that however hard I push myself, I have energy for a final burst). 4 sets of 10 Bicep Curls, currently lifting 46 kg. 4 sets of 10 chess press's currently at 40kg 4 sets of 10 pectoral flies currently at 47kg 4 sets of 10 assisted pull ups, about 50kg actually being lifted (although in reality the assistance isn't very effective, so more like 60kg) 4 sets of 10 shoulder press if I have time left over at 25kg 4 sets of 10 lay-pulls downs, again if i have time left over, at 36kg The aim of my sessions is to build up strong muscles that will be able to perform at a high level for a medium ammount of time (ie a boxing match). The running builds stamina and endurance and mentally prepares me for pushing myself very hard (I'll randomly increase the speed to 17/18km for a minute every now and then). Other activities: Fencing. Twice a week I go fencing. One club night of about 2 hours solid fencing (some bouts go to about 50 without a break) and a very tough training session with my coach on a saturday morning (1 hour). Karate: I spend an hour helping out with the junior session before doing the serious 2 hours training with the older group. I then get an extra 30 mins after everyone leaves to help me prepare for my Dan grading. A 2 mile walk down the road to do some shopping every saturday. Squash on a Friday morning with school. On the days I don't go to the gym I do: 50x Sit-ups holding weights (10kg) 50x Pushups with stands to lower my body further. 3x10 Bicep curls with my own set of weights at 20kg.
  14. Seeing as it has been edited, I guess there is nothing more to discuss.
  15. Double post. Edit - My Bad. They were two totally different threads.
  16. A good game of CSS is great fun. As a total newbie I really got my rear-end kicked about but I'm getting better. We need Mitch to come back and finish off organising the tournament.

In my house, the shower is pathetic. More of a dribble than a hot blast of water. For this reason I do most of my showering down the gym. I'll take a shower if I can't get a bath, ie. forget to have a bath night before and wake up smelling like a sauna. A nice relaxing bath if brilliant for stress or discomfort.
  20. Truth. I used to love doing that. Anyway, I rarely eat fast food but I once ordered an XL Bacon Double cheeseburger at a Burger King late at night. We were quite possibly their only customers for several hours. Anyway the burger must have sat under that hot lamp for at least ten hours. It was the coldest, slimyest, most plastically piece of nasty nastyness. Grease oozed out of the meat and the bread buns were all shriveled, wrinkly and wet. The chips and milkshake was nice though.
  21. You missed one. Corruption. With all the will in the world, you can't sort out the problems in the world if the people ment to be sorting them out pocket the money and get away with it.
  22. Worst - Very Sour milk. Best - An Evergreen forest right after a light rainfall. Same here. I love the smell of a strong coffee in the morning. The smell and the taste are totally different.
  23. I've found that you can only really teach yourself what you enjoy. I tried to do spanish but gave up pretty much instantly. You also need a motivation to keep yourself going.

Professional guitarist. It's something I really enjoy, there's good money in it if you are good and if I did ever form a serious band, it would be with my best mate (awesome bassist). I'd also like to be an author. The only problem is a lack of motivation to actually write.
  25. Cocoon. I want my two hours back. Awful film. I was bored to the point of insanity during this.
