  1. I was chatting at the time and messing with the forum. I probably should have been fishing instead. :P I'm not sure when I'll be done since I don't have the hides all bought and I get sporadic at buying them. I'm hoping in a month or so.
  2. I'm glad to see those Elves were cooperative. Grats :D
  3. I triumphed over laziness and updated the topic. Thanks everyone for all the bumps that kept it up. I've removed the mage progress since I'm no longer alching the bodies and I added a bunch of lvl pics. There are several fishing ones since that's easy to do while I'm doing stuff on the forum. Also I finally bought more hides yesterday so I'm back in crafting mode with 90k hides to go till 99.
  4. I was quite to suprised to see this topic as I was browsing down the names of topics starters. :D I've known ulti here since before I was ever a member so over a year and a half I'd say. Anyway, I'm glad to see you started a thread and surprised you didn't tell me the other day in game. :P If you have any questions and you can't catch me in game just pm me here on the forum. Good luck on your goals and I hope you blaze through them. ______________________________________________________________ PS: Why on earth did Jorus have you use imageshack. Dunno why he didn't say Photobucket. Oh, and if you want a good screenie program to make the whole picture taking thing a bit easier just shoot me a pm. :
  5. Take it easy, eh? I replied not even two hours after this topic was made and I've begun discussing this with staff earlier today (not even 18 hours after this topic's creation). Considering the multitude of things that have a higher priority than this I'd like to think that is a fast response. I'm also not sure what your personal beef is with this whole issue but it's nothing recent. Just bear in mind that resolutions don't always end up perfectly with what you or I want to happen. Compromise is key in any decision. Sorry to backtrack but I can't believe as a member of the TET who knows full well the difficulties of cohesively organizing so many people that you could even bring that up. More of something doesn't always improve the situation. As you well know the moderators do their job voluntarily and some things, while not the ideal setup for you, might make their job slightly easier. In either case the people who make the event posts and the people who have to maintain the event posts both have to be considered.
  6. Due to BA being new it has been discussed and decided that allowing the brand new teams time to get some exposure would be the most fair thing. All BA team topics will be left unlocked for the time being. An idea is in the works to find a place for these that will allow them the exposure they need to get setup and keep General for discussion and not recruiting. Happy Assaulting. :
  7. People have been ranting about quality of posts on Gen p2p long before either of these changes were made to be fair. It's easy to complain about things but it's much harder to come up with viable suggestions that can please everyone. Previously we've had Gen cluttered with dozens of guides or events. General is just that, general. If something is monopolizing the first page at what point does it merit its own section. Sidenote about the guides: There are some useful guides that have things not practical to include in the site guides but that are useful to people all the same. They aren't exactly easy to find stuck on the 15th page of Gen p2p you know. You're more than welcome to come up with some solutions that will satisfy and accommodate the general user and the staff who have to deal with them. However before offering these suggestions it would help to look beyond personal benefits such as "my own events don't have the same turnout". Something being in General, by default, will have more notice and more participation but that alone does not necessarily make for an adequate reason. This is the same logic that people us when they post what are essentially questions outside of H&A, just because it will be seen. EDIT: I'm not sure how subforums are adding that much space to the index. Looking at this from the perspective of someone who uses the boards a lot and has to sift through the index far more than a casual user they have done nothing but help. Even with their use it still takes me 7, that's right 7 page downs to get through the index. Have a little sympathy on the staff. :P You can imagine how bad it was before we condensed some boards down.
  8. Thanks for removing them guys, much appreciated :)
  9. Please stop nesting quots so much, it won't kill you to remove it.
  10. Way to shoot yourself in the foot. So you, by using swiftswtich, can click it to retry world 2...15 times at 5 second intervals I think it is while you go fix a drink and those who log in to RS in the normal manner have to refresh at the keyboard. Ok, just checking since that isn't any kind of advantage. -.-
  11. No ones stopping you from wallowing in your own sloth, being too lazy to alter your behavior when it's needed is what nullifies your leg to stand on for most of the people disagreeing with you.
  12. It gives you out of game perks that you could easily get other places. Screenie programs (I have one that runs in the background. Better than SS with it's watermark) IRC programs (again there are FAR better ones out there) People being too lazy to avail themselves to better alternatives (which are legal, go figure) isn't Jagex's problem. ________________________________________ Disclaimer: Above statements are my own and in no way reflect Tip.It's official stance
  13. No I don't think it's unfair. This has been an incredibly gray area for a long time and an eventual ruling one way or the other should not have come as a surprise to anyone. Sorry that's it's not convenient but I'm not going to sit here and complain since they widened a rule. It doesn't affect many people's enjoyablity in the least and it's nothing you can't learn to work around. ________________________________________________ All of this is my own opinion so don't go quoting it as Tip.It policy.
  14. Geez people, you act like they stat wiped you. Grow up, stop whining and move on. Focus on some things that have been needed in game for a long time instead that would add funtionality. I hope to God they turn around and make an official client that's better than SS just so everyone who agreed with this decision can watch the complainers be complete hypocrits and say how great Jagex is.
  15. Quite right, but as you can see this update is a bit more explosive than the run-of-the-mill update so it gets a 2 day special treatment. :P
  16. Please quit nesting quotes so deeply. It is possibly one of the most annoying forum habits in the world. Takes 10 seconds to remove all but the most recent ones and you make the entire community happy with easy reading and you keep your posts from getting edited. On topic: As a runescape user my opinion is this, if anyone is going to quit over this I say good riddance. "I use it for IRC" - Go download mIRC or any of the many other superior IRC clients and continue about your business. It doesn't hinder me of the several dozen others I know who do it that way. For all the complaints about calcs and stuff, not sure what to say but deal with it. Firefox works wonderfully for playing RS. One window open for just RS and another main firefox window with all my open tabs. When it comes down to it if you're going to quit playing a game you like over something the creators had never intended you to use then have fun doing other stuff. Jagex has had this quasi rule for a long time and now that they make it set in stone people act like it could never happen and are so surprised. ________________________ Sidenote: I'm stickying this topic for all discussion about this. There will be an announcement made shortly regarding it as well.
  17. Good suggestion. I'm unsure though how much traffic there would be for creating a subforum just for that alone. (I might be wrong so more opinions are welcome. :) The promotion was not the entire reason for the lack of cleaning, the holidays added a lot to that as well. It possibly requires more attention than I am able to consistently provide so the future of it (in terms of how it will be maintained) is up in the air at the moment. As always thanks for the suggestion, it helps to see where attention to potential issues is required. PS. I'm a he :P
  18. I went through the various boards and turned post count back on those that should have it. Forum gremlins must be enjoying the holiday season and having fun with the forum's inner workings. The list given here is still how it should be set up. If you experience any more trouble just post back here and we'll get it fixed. Thanks for letting us know.
  19. That might be a long wait on that slowpoke. Congrats on the slayer level! That 30 xp shy was a killer.
  20. Thanks Arya for the bump and also thanks to sjef for the excellent slaying info you gave me on your topic. Much appreciated. : The first post has finally been updated (I was too lazy to format it before now) with my new (old) goal I've been working on. Hopefully this one will be a bit more diverse than the 99 fm one.
  21. Go Chelsea go! Can't believe you're doing lobster. Good luck.
  22. 5/10 The topic starter did say to rate out of 10. Not sure why another system would need to be used either way. :-k
  23. Hey and welcome! I hope you enjoy browsing through the forum. I recommend stopping by Edgeville bank on world 99 if you care to meet a bunch of crazy peop..er, TipIters.
  24. Nice find Odd....not that I didn't hear some weirdo talking about it on IRC today. :-w The real question is how long did it take you to upload it. :P
  25. That comment I made is as true today as it was then. I don't think I'm famous, if anything I'm noticed and hyt'd from people seeing me lock posts. I know a lot of people who are "famous" in my book though.
