It depends which skill cape you're talking about, a fire cape is more respectable than a cooking or fletching capes, but not more respectable than a prayer or agility cape for example.

I got members for the first time for am onth at around 600 total, then again for two months at 7-800 total, and then at around 1k total i got members again, and it has never stopped ever since...1782 total today.

Ive recently spent almost a million on coal in miscelania to get my smithing up. Im waiting to Christmas or new years eve to drop the hundreds of steel sets I've made, in varrock f2p :P I did that last year as well.
