no, actually you took that off a price guide made by somebody who happened to hear of a person or two offering a phat for the items, so he decided to base the prices by the values of phats, so now everybody is reading that price guide and you make a thread about it advertising these prices thus more people assume that this is the value of items even though they're still stabilizing, so you're advertising inaccurate prices which is manipulation [run on/] Like I said before this may not be your intent, but thats what it is. and I'm not saying this because I'm some kid thats lost the chance of buying one of these items, I'm just annoyed by people like you advertising inaccurate values and slowing down the stabilization, because yes im planning to buy the shield when I save up enough and the values become more realistic.

If somebody sells their blue phat, then they change the market by increasing the supply, alching the phat will prevent them from doing so thus no change is made. people eating eggs, or alching their phats has no effect on the prices, but if the same people then went and bought another egg of phat, then the prices would be influenced. Not completely true. Eating eggs and alching phats means the supply drops. That means there are fewer people that can actually sell them because a few now have it. It gets harder to find sellers, so potential buyers offer more. That way the price also rises. So yes, eating eggs and alching phats WOULD increase the price. Why would anyone do that though :evil: how does the supply drop? if you're not going to sell the item then you're not supplying anything.

how about you learn to read before you make another post? There's no reason to flame me just because you don't understand a simple point. Let me make it clear and simple: Nobody will know the prices of this amour until a good amount of it gets into the game, you cant know the price of something nobody is selling! right now they're still stabilizing! Is there anything you do not understand?

yes, everybody knows the concept of supply and demand, and yes its very fascinating, but you made no reference to my argument/point. Its funny how once somebody grasps the idea of supply&demand, they suddenly feel like they're the king of economics and know everything, and no I'm not saying I'm and economics genius, but I do know better than to blame everything on supply and demand.

Yes, because it is based on supply and demand. The supply is already at 0, so getting rid of an egg wouldn't do anything. It's just that when that person wants another egg to replace it, that increases the demand making the prices go up. The supply is not 0, that would mean there are no more phats in the game, the supply is a number that either goes down or stays the same. It does affect the prices, but the prices are affected more by every person who can afford them. The more people that can afford them, the more the prices rise. If no people can afford them, the prices go down. the supply of discontinued items is always 0, if its any higher, then its no longer a discontinued item. Also, whether or not somebody can afford them makes no difference, just because somebody just saved up a certain amount of money doesn't make the egg owners suddenly decide to charge more.

yeah, that made no sense what so ever. The reason prices are slowly rising is because good old inflation is kicking in again. A while back construction caused alot of deflation at first, and then stabilized the gold value for a long while, so our economy was doing great for a while there. But now the effects of construction are starting to disappear, so inflation is starting up again. The actual value of items changed very little, so i don't see why people keep putting up the supply and demand concept in because it only applies to gold right now. Its great that everybody understands the supply and demand concept, but people still don't seem to understand the difference between where its changing :roll:

this doesnt explain people trading party hats for pieces of the set the first day they came out. i saw people posting on the offical forums saying that they would trade a blue party hat or multiple hats for a set of third age. i dont believe that someone could write in the prices for the new items an hr after they come out. what rock have you been living under your whole rs life? whenever a new item comes out, people always offer ridiculous amounts at first, ALWAYS. For example, people were buying dlegs anywhere from 10-40m the day they came out, whips were 10-20m when people relized they actually existed. Nobody knows values of items if they were just released, and when a new item comes out, there are people who always offer huge amounts for them.

I don't understand how you would know the prices of something nobody is even selling? These prices guides are always very inaccurate, and they change the economy so easily because so many people rely on them without realizing this. The person who set those prices probably spent 2 mins in fally and saw someone offering a phat and then put the price on the guide right away. 3rd age really isn't worth that much, but the fact that these price guides and people like you are claiming that these are the prices is what is changing what people think about these armor so easily, even though nobody is really selling any of this. This is pure price manipulation whether or not its your actual intent, and you aren't helping anybody.

this is completely faulty. Your total lvl consists of both combat and non combat stats, but you're dividing it by the number of non combat stats. also, magic, hp, ranged, and prayer are also combat stats.
