  1. 2012. Stargate is still the only Roland Emmerich film I properly enjoyed, all the others I've seen after that just make me think he tries too hard.
  2. At home for the weekend, but I ran one of these in university halls a while back and got the following:
  3. Peter Hamilton's The Reality Dysfunction, it's a 1200 page Space Opera Sci-Fi epic; it's better than it sounds! About 1/3rd of the way in, and it's good, if very descriptive at times ;)
  4. Well it would do if you picked the original instrumental mix wouldn't it? :P Try listening to the album or extended versions, they grind less. Alternatively, I offer this as a comparison: Obviously it's a matter of taste, some people like the repetitive 4-4 "thud thud thud thud" nature more, but I don't think it's fair to say the song doesn't develop more than half way through.
  5. Completely satiated actually :P TPUM will type an e in their post.
  6. I'm not so sure that's entirely fair. They seem a bit repetitive at first, but if you listen carefully they do develop quite subtly. While he's not my favourite artist, the fact he has built up such a large fanbase around the whole mau5 thing is definitely a sizeable achievement. Anyway, if you do like him and what something similar (And imo better :P) then check out Wolfgang Gartner: Firepower Wolfgang's 5th Symphony

    Today...

First all-nighter at University writing a topical review on hierarchical galaxy formation. Current empty coffee mug count: 3
  8. Motorola KRzr K1. It's not the best, but fine for what I use it for, and it still works after having had it for 4 years now, which is just phoning and texting. Only problem is that send is close to backspace when texting, but it's not that a big issue when you can text relatively proficiently. I just know if I have a smartphone my spare time will vanish altogether.
  9. First off I'd delete any cookies/cache etc, then do a reinstall of the latest stable release. If that doesn't work, have you updated/added any addons recently? Could be there's a problem with some of those conflicting. I'd try disabling them to see if there's the problem persists.
  10. @Futurama: I don't listen to 1xtra, but I did check out the mix and it's pretty awesome, cheers :D @fallout: Sweet, will have to check those all out.
  11. Highlighting text as I read it on the computer. Dismantling and reassembling pens. :S
  12. Seem to have gotten into Liquid Funk in the past couple of weeks: Netsky Metrik
  13. Saw District 9 this evening. Thought it was a very good film. Not particularly nice, but it conveys its message well I think.
  14. Yup :) The idea being to get to biomes and stuff when I explore more of the map. Was originally thinking of extending the first system with the water stations further, but I decided to do something with redstone and a single track to save on resources.
  15. Hah hah, cheers. It's taken me a decent chunk of my spare time to build, and it's not even half done yet. Going to stick lava in the 4 corners, and add some other stuff. The plan is to stick lava in the 4 corners, for it to light up, then I'll stick water fountains/pools and other nice looking things inside. I actually used Mcmap rather than cartograph because I could never get cartograph to work properly :< Also Mcmap does this pretty cool thing where you can get it to show caves in relation to the surface. Minecart systems aren't as hard as they first look either, just experiment around with boosters and stuff. Just remember that carts with people in gain more momentum than those that don't. Just experiment around/watch videos on youtube to get an idea of how they work. Also, am I right in thinking grass now varies in colour around the map? I thought Notch had just changed the texture colours to make them more browny/realistic, but I was on SMP for the first in a while and I noticed the grass was paler than my SP world. EDIT: Video of my stuff: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DCuQhO6hl0s
  16. My creations: Not bothered exploring to find any biomes yet, just continuing to build my tower (yes I did it all by hand without invedit or other such nonsense). The long bridge is the beginning of a redstone railway, the other side of the building is my separate automated minecart circuit to get in and out of my mine. I'll get some more pictures of the different bits when I get more time.
  17. Not only this, but they also created so little of it there wouldn't be enough to cause any noticeable sort of explosion. They made about 40 or so atoms in total, which wouldn't even heat a small couple of coffee if it reacted, let alone destroy the Vatican.
  18. I stick with Firefox because I've found NoScript and Greasemonkey extremely useful. But anyway, I'm in the same boat as Sbrideau. I generally have lots of tabs and/or windows open at once and I've never noticed it use more than 200K of memory, normally it's around about 140K. If you get loads of addons though it wouldn't surprise me if it started to eat up more memory. Unless you really need to free up some memory just to use your computer (in which case you should probably get some more RAM anyway because it's inexpensive), there isn't much point in the hassle of switching browsers.
  19. Minecraft, along with a bit of TF2. Automated railways for the win.
  20. Mirror's Edge 2. Come on, the first one was actually heaps of fun :3
  21. Yeah, but if he's using ADSL he may as well have a landline anyway. Save all the hassle of signal, battery, higher charges etc. You need a filter on every single thing that connects to the phoneline regardless of what it is that connects in. If you've just got the phone and the router, and they're connected to the same socket, then 1 filter is fine; otherwise you need filters on every single thing that's connected. Is it possible you've got anything else connected to the phoneline as well? Stuff like some Digital/Sky TV boxes, alarms, just check them and make sure. If that fails, I'd try contacting your internet/phone provider.
