Of all the routers and wireless cards I have installed, the CD for them has NEVER worked for windows XP, you just have to do it manually.

Weird type of runescape lag.
Maybe it is just Sun Java then? I know sun java gives some users alot of lag issues on RS

can your Mhz or Ghz be upgraded on ur comp?
Different coding. The coding for RS1 was maybe junk compared to that of RS2? Who knows... it really makes no difference as it isn't going to harm you or anything. It isn't a big deal, my CPU is running at 100% like 99% of the time I am using it...

Help!! USB ports not working correctly, mouse problem
you might have to open up your case and hook the USB port up yourself. Most computers are either set up to only have USB ports hooked up in the front or the back, so either you will only need to hook up the corisponding cord, or you will have to go and get another one :?

Oh's No's!!11! My laptop don't turn on!!1!oneone
Nope, nada... No fans, you don't head a mobo beap, your can't hear a HD beep or the HD spin. The only indication that I pressed the button is that the battery charger dealy itself lets out a ringing noise at all times it is plugged in (not like an actual ring, but like when you have a TV or a light on, you can sometimes hear a whiney high pitched noise) and when I press down on the power button the ringing noise will stop and as soon as I let go it continues, however I think this is normal. It is not the battery either by the way, I have 2 seperate batteries and neither work

Oh's No's!!11! My laptop don't turn on!!1!oneone
It is just odd, it isn't like I dropped it or something... it was just sitting there. I have only had to open my laptop once, and that was to slide a stick of 256 MB of RAM into it... other then that I know squat about laptop hardware

Oh's No's!!11! My laptop don't turn on!!1!oneone
Hey guys... well here is the problem. About a... err... month ago? I turned my laptop completly off, unplugged the battery from it, and unplugged the battery from the wall. The other night I got a cool mouse for it (it is a miniture mouse, so I thought it would go good with a laptop... hehe) So, I plug the battery into the outlet and the computer and the battery indicator light on the computer came on. It was yellow, meaning that it was connected, but had to no juice to start up... so, whatever, I am tierd now so I go to sleep, right? I wake up around 12 hours later (the battery itself takes about 1 hour to get to 100%) and see the green light on the computer meaning that it is plenty ready to be turned on. I flip up screen and press the power button, but low and behold the row of lights that are supposed to light up and flash do nothing  I tryed a few times over and over, even tryed holding it in. I have no idea what could have caused this, it was just sitting on a table for about a month turned off. I usually leave it on for weeks at a time and have never had issues with over heating, infact this is the first problem I have ever gotten from it. Now, the mobo doesn't beep as if something is wrong, just plain and simple.... nothing happens at all. The light saying the battery is juiced up is still on but none the less it won't turn on. The thing is never connected to the internet unless I am updating windows or at a LAN party(so hard to game on a laptop), so I know there is no spyware or virii on it The specs I know off the top of my head are: Windows 2000 Pro (completely up-to-date as of a month ago  ) P3 1.6 Ghz Processor 384 MB RAM The laptop itself was made by IBM Completly up-to-date adaware & McAffe definitions I always kept it clean, as in defragged, disc clean up, all the good stuff ya know? Is it possible that the mobo is just going to hell? If that is the case then I will probably just toss the thing out  Anyways, much help would be appreciated as I am not as intune with laptop hardware  Thanks!

100% cpu usage when i run classic
Yes, and please stop making multiple threads (and spamming)... and if your going to go through the trouble of making multiple threads at least say more then "help me, bye" Java is designed in a way that will use all avaliable CPU. This is not true in all cases, but generally speaking it will take all the resources it can

Apple to Switch to Intel Processors
Lol, I like the way you put that sounds like a commercial or something, good writing style! As for the topic... only time will. I don't think people are so much concerned with the hardware as the software. They would have to learn the new OS, and then they would have to go out and buy new software for it.... Say they already have MS office, or a windows-only webcam.... they wouldn't want to waste money and have to go and buy more new stuff.

System Volume Information
Go to start >> programs >> accessories >> system tools>> disc cleanup. Wait for it to analyze what you can clean(might take a while), then click the tab to "find other wayts to clean up your computer" or whatever the hell it says. There should be an option like "delete all of my restore points accept for the most recent" So in other words it will delete them all accept for the newest one, you will still have that one if you mess up your computer. It might take a while to delete 6 gigs but it is worth it. Also note that doing this doesnt disable system restore, nor would you want to, it just gets rid of all the old junk you no longer need. THEN run the disd cleanup thing and compress old files, delete temporary files, internet files, ect. My guess it you will be able to free up close to 8 Gigs if this is the first time running this. When your done with that I suggest you go to "add / remove programs" and get rid of ANYTHING you don't use, as it is just wasting space. Once this is all said and done, go to start >> programs >> accessories >> system tools >> Disc defragmentation Run disc defrag on your computer, this sorts out files that have been misplaced or moved around. Not only cant this potentially free up some room, but it will help your Harddrive find/seek stuff faster. For instance, if you have a big game on your computer like halo or halfelife or something... when you play the game, it will start certain files so you can play the game, but when you end the game... not all the files you were using go back in the right spot and when you want to play again it takes longer for it to find where it put those files. That is just a rundown on it in lamens terms, if you didn't understand it don't worry because that is the best I could do lol... So to summerize: Run disc cleanup Delete all but most recent restore points Remove any programs you don't use by using add/remove programs wizard Run disc Defrag

can your Mhz or Ghz be upgraded on ur comp?
What? No... not at all. My laptop is 1.6 Ghz, and this is no wheres near the limit of what a laptop can do. I have no idea where you are getting your information from, but having 512 in a laptop is already ALOT. I only have 384 mb of RAM in mine, and adding RAM ro a laptop can cost a bundle!

He meant "Dxdiag" also, you can find out how much RAM you have and your processor speend by right clicking 'my computer' and going to "properties"

What is better: Microsoft, Apple, Linux or Unix?
You clearly dont know what your on about Lol, so true... he obviously has no idea what he is talking about. He is just another one of those kid's who think they know everything about everything and decide to hate windows for no reason: Care to back up your previous statement? Well, ice cream shuicks. Not only is it an opinion, but you aren't even giving any examples of why you dislike windows. Don't like the ability to customize stuff? Don't like user friendlt stuff? Don't like massive ammounts of games? Oh... sorry. Well since you hate WINDOWS so much, here is a copy of DOS.

Weird type of runescape lag.
Don't listen to him... your computer isn't overheating I garantee it. I would suggest you try deleting all your cookies again, and delete all your JAVA cache as it is a known problem. If you don't know how to delete your java cache search for it on the T&C board because I know it has been answered many times

Problem with loading RS...
I used dialup and just recently switched to DSL, I noticed NO DIFFERENCE at all in RS Agreed... the packets being sent to and from the RS servers is like 8 bytes a second, you wouldn't even notice a difference if you were on 28k to a T3 line. Also, refering to your other post: He said it takes up to 10 minutes for RS to load. No, that has NOTHING to do with dial up. I used to play (a few months ago) on 56k that dialed up at about 24k and it still only took maybe 15 seconds to get through the entire process of loading up the game.

Problem with loading RS...
When I was on dial up I had NO problem, however it wasn't AOL... AOL is slow to begin with and really crummy. Just a quick question though, do you have a firewall or router that could be blocking or having difficult times with the connection to runescape.com itself?

Microsoft isn't an OS either :?
