  1. I wasn't too impressed with the lumbridge one, shame I didn't vote
  2. the gargoyle thing only helps if you're lazy lol :(
  3. perhaps I'm being too hopeful, but if this were nothing but a game engine upgrade doesn't it seem reasonable to expect that jagex would have just said so in their post, instead of being so ambiguous?
  4. the 1004 day guy must have spent... 6 hours scaping/day every day since rs came out
  5. time for 96 herb and 92 smithing and 99 crafting

you do realize that would require 1000 players to have made 1 million bolts each lol No. Let the bolts go with the accounts. We don't need that kind of gp added to the market. That's the point. It'll give money to random players who are lucky enough to obtain them (or at least make some good junk), but it'll also screw with the game economy. Hell, let's just give everyone 1 billion coins. That'll improve the game! You have no understanding of the implications any glitch of this magnitude has. depending on how many dragon bolts escape into the game, they might crash a lot. if they crash a lot, diamond bolts and diamonds themselves will crash some. I doubt that dragonstones will crash because more of them are purchased for making glories than dragon bolts anyways. considering how crazy the economy has been for the last year or so, a couple items going down a bit really seems underwhelming. it might make monster hunting/pking cheaper, but it's not like 2k diamond bolts or 7k dragon bolts made people who wanted to do those things any less likely, considering that they're profitable no matter what lol. personally I agree that it would be interesting if nothing else to see a ton of bolts thrown into the party room. no one except stealing merchers have enough of any of the items that may crash to be seriously hurt by it, and it would definitely be cool to train ranged with dragon bolts for awhile
  7. Bull****. This is a videogame. It should require some amount of skill. I'm pretty offended that people are saying they have a mental illness just so they won't have to deal with something in the game. As someone who has a mental disorder, I find it very insulting. Nothing is impossible. I've suffered through a lot to do things I thought I couldn't, and people saying "Oh, I have ADHD, I can't beat Jad..." just so they can be able to get a staff of light and sell it for rediculous amounts of virtual money really offends me. Having an illness is a challenge you're going to have to fight. I fought mine, and when people think they can get past theirs by complaining and whining until someone else fixes something for them, especially in a videogame, it really irks me. Theres some mental disorders that effect reaction speed and no matter how much you "fight" them you wont react quickly, making prayer switching for Jad impossible. Thus making Jad impossible. Equally if yuo have a bad internet connection and lag all the time it is impossible. if you have a bad internet connection or bad reflexes for whatever reason, many things in online computer games are not possible. is that a reason to compromise all content which relies on such things as reflexes and decent internet connections?
  8. I find it tremendously unfair that tormented demons attack with multiple attack styles. With my terrible reflexes, I am completely unable to kill them and fulfill my birthright as a player of runescape to get any item in the game that I want to.
  9. heaven forbid you have to do something that takes just an ounce of skill to access content in this game
  10. the area above GWD should work for this too, and it only requires 50 strength or agility :P
  11. one thing I think jagex should definitely have done when they changed the price is give everyone 10 times their present tokkul, I had like 180k from the fight caves and pits which is now worthless :< I bought my fury years ago for 4m before it crashed then spiraled up, thank god haha. otherwise I'm not really sure how I'd deal with it, since neither buying 90m of junk nor killing tzhaar for such a long time really appeals. all you need to make better money is 82 runecrafting (since the runecrafting update, probably not even that), or 83 slayer, or whatever low levels you need to kill aviantese. most people would prefer to make money they can cash in whenever they like, instead of being committed to killing a whole lot of tzhaars. sure it's a goal, but it's a more irritating goal than is necessary to deal with. even if I were strapped for cash I probably wouldn't do it, although if this thread makes furies an item possible to buy again, more power to you :P
  12. rock lobs jumped to mind with me, unless you can kill waterfiends really quickly
  13. lol lunar staff, the only item of those I look at on anything near a regular basis, is in last :(
  14. Good info about the Gorak. Haven't had that assignment for a while -- I need to see if I have them blocked. Or maybe Kuradel doesn't assign them? More on topic: As I was fighting Dusties last night (using zerker ring), it dawned on me that the ring really wasn't helping me much, if at all. I was two hitting them much of the time. But the zerker wouldn't let me one hit them. So for quick kill monsters, the zerker doesn't help that much. It helps most on monsters that you have to hack away on. So I'm switching to RoW on all easy monsters. Off topic: Earlier I tried to post and found that I had to wait 45 seconds. Is this new, or has it always been this way, or is one of the idiot mods mad at me for some reason? there is a flood limit for posting. and in my experience, mods usually only take action against people who have broken the rules. in defense of the zerker, in order to two-hit them much of the time, you would need to consistently hit over 50 (unlikely). and it still can certainly make a difference - if you hit 52-52, you will still need a third hit to kill it, whereas if you hit 52-53, you will not. so it can really help in any situation, although the more attacks are necessary the better it is of course
  15. You guys are right. I sure would rather get nothing than something! killing abyssal demons 1% faster with a berzerker ring makes a more noticeable impact on profit than this lol, plus more exp. there is literally no reason to ever use it. So if you are killing abyssal demons 1% faster, that means that for every 100 kills you get, you get 1 extra kill. If we take the drop rate to be 1 in 300 for a whip, which is what I have roughly found it to be, that means that for every 30,000 kills you get an extra 300 kills, which will give you an extra whip. How does an extra whip in 30,000 kills compare to all your "no drops" being eliminated for 30,000 kills? It's hard to say. But I can tell you that for the comparison of a ring with multiple million GP to a ring worth only several thousands, the ring of wealth is more efficent at gaining you wealth. well that was exaggeration really, I'd say the zerker likely raises your kill time by more than that, though it is hard to say. it raises your max hit by about one, so does that make it reasonable to assume that it raises your average hit by 1/2? if so, assuming an average hit of 25 or so, it would be a stunning 2% improvement. an increase of one whip/15,000 kills would equate to an extra 11,333 gp/kill... now the ROW is trickier, but considering the rarity of any rare drops signifcantly more valuable than 11k, I would say the zerker is conclusively better... let's not forget that it increases your xp/hr by about 2% as well (I think?). it's true that it is more expensive, but that doesn't make it any less efficient in my view because it is a one-time expense only, and 5m really isn't very hard to make these days.
  16. There are master quests that give 1 qp. And novice quests that give 6 qp. and intermediate quests that give 2 qp
  17. You guys are right. I sure would rather get nothing than something! killing abyssal demons 1% faster with a berzerker ring makes a more noticeable impact on profit than this lol, plus more exp. there is literally no reason to ever use it.
  18. nevermind lol, you're right ROW is pretty dang worthless
  19. What I don't get is why merchants think that this update will make anyone apart from price speculators who does not already own a whip, decide to buy one lol. I might sell mine for max then buy it back after the crash, if they aren't crashing already.
  20. No. That cape is much better than a fire cape in many situations, including just about every situation where you need to protect pray constantly, or even if you're using piety/turmoil constantly. This is the way it should be. Different capes for different situations. You have your Skill capes to show off with, your fire cape for strength bonus, your ardy cape 3 for corpie, or anytime you need stab, and your IBN cape for prayer. Why people think that one armor/weapon/cape should be the best in every situation is beyond me. RS needs more options, were different capes have different bonuses. This is an excellent addition. sacrificing str always = sadface though
  21. Am I the only person who's a bit alarmed by the fact that the New Year's Message said there would be "a" new GM quest in 2010?
  22. Mahjarrat aren't known to serve other Mahjarrat; I don't think that Nomad was one
  23. I randomly talked to a seer and noticed this: Naturally I ran over to corp beast and it definitely still killed me, but I haven't done any serious testing as to whether it makes a tangible difference in defending against magic attacks. Has anyone known about this previously/done any tests with this?
