Not sure this applies to me, but I did average 51k/hour :P the key is partly in the faster training methods of today, but I think mainly it's because people who shoot for maxing will be doing the skill at maximum efficiency without wasting time switching around between activities, and using the best methods of levelling available to anyone. most activities (not necessarily individual skills, consider that training slayer rewards over 100k xp/hr total) give 70k xp/hr or more (with the living rock caverns and new agility courses), and of course there's fletching and summoning with 400k+ lol. you can even do it with runecrafting if you fletch bolts while you run to the altar. so it's a matter of whether or not you are truly playing to max xp

you're damn right it makes the wolpertinger a better summon. in fact, it makes the magic potions absolutely useless. I did a large amount of barrows with the pre-nerf magic potions. I was using claws of guthix with a void mace... max hit of 46. My average hit was 17. That's about the same as someone veraccing barrows, and I think meleers use less than 25k worth of prayer potions/chest, which is the cost of the runes/chest for me. People freak out when they see 40%, but they don't take into account magic's extremely low max hits, and low average hits. What in god's name is wrong with hitting 46s after spending 100m+ on herblore when melee can hit that high easily with a dds or whip? I also would disagree that astral runes are overpriced... the reason isn't scarcity (82 runecrafting is hardly hard to get), but simply high demand from pkers. There's nothing unnatural about it, they are just behaving according to the law of supply and demand. It's not like they were being manipulated. Pking has driven up the prices of sharks, and herblore has driven up the price of herbs. Does that mean that from now on you should catch sharks at twice the previous rate, or get twice as many herbs/farming patch?

I don't think they'd claim to be fixing it as we speak if it were the cover story of a conspiracy they intend to make permanent

adamant bolts are the fastest, 420k/hr. gp/xp changes so you'd have to calc nice because you can fletch while doing other stuff to, it's not as fast though obvs lots of clicking btw

I rofl'd as I read this. I didn't realize that there was an exact replicate of the extreme magic, only cheaper, that IS available in PvP. I disagree that the extreme magic was overpowered - even hitting 46 with cogs my magic average hit at barrows was still only 17. Not too stunning. The effect of this update is that magic sucks again and extreme magics are worthless. That's like saying that smoking kills forced you to stop training slayer because it made spots more crowded. Actually, it is PLAYERS who are forcing you to DIY a skill. Actually, they're forcing you to DIY it or wait a day for ess to buy. They are both visible boosts so it does not.

well if your goal is maxing melees and getting into SGWD and getting good summoning, slayer sounds like a good plan. if you're 83 you're already decent at it, may as well go for real good :P

True, especially because most of the extreme pots are horrible xp/gp wise. For the sake of easiness, I'd just calculate the costs of the ingredients and rate the time it takes to make them the same as the xp you get for making the. But I saw your video earlier and I wondered how good extreme magic would be with my method. Care to give it a try? Although, the problem is most of the time is lost in the tunnels, not at killing the brothers. Another option is to use b2p tablets, but as you can see this method leaves little room for the peaches. Conclusion: I'm puzzled of how to improve this. calced everything up and it came out to your method being better (if you're sure your chest runs take 7.5 minutes, which would make mine a pretty minimal improvement despite all the high hits). assuming I didn't mess up somewhere in the labyrinth of math. it really isn't too shocking as even with COG I only averaged 16 damage/hit. possibly because I had a bad magic bonus. I tested this the day I got 92 herblore, extreme potions are not compatible with salamanders. :| guthans probably doesn't help much because you really don't take damage from the melee brothers. and you take damage while you're healing. idk the impact of increasing p pot usage but it might be worth it to pray through all ahrim and karil, then you'd only be taking damage from raising KC. perhaps substitute SGS for DDS? using 2 p pot doses should eliminate the need for it. banking only wastes 2 minutes so going from banking every 16 trips to every 8 trips shouldn't be too bad

huh maybe I should give this a shot. I messed around with COG + extreme magics awhile ago; it was pretty fun but I only did 4 chests/trip because you have to tank the brothers and I didn't use guthans. didn't calc profit/hr but it wasn't too cheap lol. then again, you kill them so fast you really don't use many more bloods than you get back. valuing extreme potions is kind of complicated since it's hard to figure out exactly how to value the time that's required to make them, and the experience you get. I might do a large trial though and see what happens. in the meantime some showing off/eye-candy :P killing starts a bit before 2 minutes http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SwN8NHoTB48 edit: did some math and assuming your chest values are correct this way is faster money (for anyone who can use it, lol), although it's pretty close because extreme potions are expensive, and it uses 22k/chest in claws casts alone

Thanks to those people who aren't gremmy though Went on a dry td trip with cav, eventually he left and this other nub 138 soloer came while I was still there and I had to deal with some pretty bad luring Then adamant bolts weren't buying so I decided to slay with extreme pots hit some 53s but missed the pics, and no dbows :< Also noticed for the first time you can see the underground pass lol later on was bored so I decided to beat the caves again. took 1:20 using broad bolts up until jad and no eagle eye think jad took about 2 minutes lol, missed 1 switch but didn't take much damage
