Thanks everyone. :) So yeah things are moving along. The advent of EXTREME potions has made me add 99 herblore as a goal. After 90 runecrafting I'll probably be able to afford 92 herblore, and then I can work my way to 99 by making the EXTREME potions and maybe just training it too. They're definitely too good to not have though. I'm already killing the phoenix every day for future super antifires haha. I'm considering starting up farming again but it's a hassle and all my money is in bolts and ess anyways.

I was just thinking about possibly getting into making some RS vids, or at least getting the capability so that I can when I want to. I don't know what I should get though - Camtasia is nice but the trial version has to be re-downloaded every 30 days. So I have a few questions. 1. Is the hypercam trial unlimited duration (just with the unregistered tag in the corner) 2. Is there another good unlimited duration free recording program that I could get? Thanks.

From Jagex's description of combat familiars, it sounds as if some of familiars' attacks are measured against the summoning defence of an armor, and some are measured against the magic/range/melee defence. The kbase makes it seem like special attacks and "some of their stranger attacks" apply to summoning, while the normal attacks go to a regular defence. I was just wondering if anyone has more information in this regard. Primarily I was debating whether a wolpertinger would be more effective than a steel titan against players wearing metal armor (the steel titan's attack is essentially useless against anyone in barrows with decent defence), but also I'm curious. :P this was the only information I could find on the RS website: Summoning - The Basics

It would just degenerate into high levels using it to get free experience, flooding the market once enough people got it. Then it would degenerate into high levels willing to pay reasonable amounts of money for experience, and ultimately the potions would be available to everyone, nullifying the purpose of the update. I think the perfect way to implement this update is... the way it was originally released. o.o

I am generally a proponent of Jagex's updates, but this was a terrible idea. The whole point of the potion update was to provide a tangible benefit to people who have spent tens of millions and hours upon hours to achieve a high level in a very difficult skill. For the record this is something which I have not done. This update removes a massive amount of the reward. Sure slaying 5% faster is nice, but there is no satisfaction in that. In the minigames where a lot is at take, such as bounty hunter, I can understand the nerf to an extent. I still think it is unnecessary because so few people have it... I am disappointed Jagex has given in to the complaints of a bunch of people whose idea of RS is to get 99 strength and then PK, balance be damned. In regard to fun minigames such as Fight Pits, the nerf is completely inexcusable. Whether you like it or not, a huge part of RS is being able to show off what you have accomplished (hence the value of rares, spirit shields, and the still-going skilling frenzy initiated by capes of achievement). I can think of nothing more pleasing after the monstrous achievement of 96 herblore than going and ******* up some players with 125 attack and strength. Jagex, however, has made this impossible. The herblore update is now a boost to xp/hour and gp/hour in certain activities, and nothing more.

I'd much rather incur a one time 35M expense than have to use ammo so expensive it's literally impossible to profit from PKing. This is because magic attacks with spells instead of weapons, and obviously magic will always want to use the best spell lol. I could argue that magic also has shadow blitz, shadow barrage, smoke barrage, smoke blitz, ice blitz, blood barrage, blood blitz, claws of guthix, saradomin strike, flames of zamorak, fire wave, et cetera. Don't forget you can also use those spells with different staffs! So many combinations! :roll: But in reality there are uses for a large number of those spells for spell stacking, which in light of the recent update is now much more powerful. I think that melee obviously dominates the combat triangle in terms of power and cost efficiency, but jagex is doing well to bring the other areas up to par with it. In terms of power anyways.

Next time I am mining and encounter you I will be sure to take your rocks and tell you to deal with it and wait until I'm done. Obviously if you have the higher level it's within you power to crash peole, it's just a question of are you mature and polite enough to treat people you're interacting with via the internet the same way you would treat them in real life, or not.

I'm with Swampjedi. I don't play this game much anymore, but it's because I'm tired of grinding, not because the community has drastically changed in the 5 years I have been playing. I started RS. Obviously there were idiots, like in every other game and in the real world, but I ignored them. I made friends. I played RS with those friends and enjoyed it. I still enjoy playing with my friends although it's gotten to the point where I'm tired of most activities. People continue to be idiots, but my friends (old and new) continue to not be idiots and as such I have to say that your argument is a ton of crap. Ironically, the only major change in the RS mechanic has been the updates attacking RWT, which was a problem caused by older people with jobs who realized that it was more efficient to buy gold than to earn it by playing the game. Younger kids are annoying but you're wasting time ranting about them in the same way that they waste time killing general graardor over and over again.

Try using a cannon in a single combat zone or a non cannon zone or in PvP? Ever paid attention to how much cannonballs cost, while melee can buy a whip for like 2-3m and use it to much more devastating effect than any ranged weapon forever? also, since when is 30 high compared to 40+ with a whip not even using piety? You should read the front page of RS more often MSB is among the most effective range weapons, but that does not necessarily make it effective at all. I have 18 million ranged experience and the only situations in which I find using range with an actual ranged weapon to be effective (more so than melee) are arma/sara gwd, and killing dagannoth prime.

I don't know if this is already known, but apparantly Kree'arra is something called an Aviantese. Maybe we will see more of this like we have seen more of the Ourg. aviantese = plural of aviansie, the bird-like creature of which armadyl gwd primarily consists

This interested me. It basically means, the Black Knights are really the innocent ones; they are getting annoyed all the time, by the frauds that are the White Knights? The Temple Knights, people who are plotting which will end up on our harm? White Knights, evil? WHAT? I can't wait to see WGS II, Lucien actually made me excited! I think that was just lucien being manipulative. the black knights and white knights seem to be mutually antagonistic, it's not like the black knights just want to be left alone and the white knights are on a ruthless mission to destroy them, lol.

And us poor players trying to make quest levels? Do it like us poor players who played RS before the GE and get them yourself.

I hereby revive this blog! Stuff is happening! I also got 92 but did not take a picture! My old computer broke so I got a new one which is better! I was sick all last week with the flu! I have a lot of makeup work! The runecrafting is progressing along as well! ok inferno :P

so ya umm thanks voovv, and i wub simon so school started and I decided to do something that it's harder to get caught up in which turned out to be runecrafting. and I'll be fletching bolts while running from the bank to the altar. except currently I can't do either because the failure of runetek5 stops me from being able to play. so I'm waiting for the next update. did get this earlier though

well jagex have literally made me quit rs until they fix the damn lag. I click the log-out button and the game tells me that I don't have any prayer points, close the bank and click my ess pouch and the pouch goes into the bank, still can't fletch bolts...

yeah I can't make bolts OR runecraft :\ don't want to think about gwd time to do something else while waiting for jagex to fix [cabbage]

does anyone else find it impossible to click more than once/second now?
