  1. that's what you think.
  2. Do those look like Runescape? No? Point made. well if you read the second sentence of my post you might have noticed that it's mechscape? no? point made. No, point not made. I was saying that those are wallpapers made by artists about Runescape. Runescape looks NOTHING like that. The same principle can apply what you posted. So don't assume Mechscape's gonna look anywhere near that good. oh sorry, your point would have been better if the links worked :P I suppose you're right about RS not looking similar to the concept art but it does give a rough idea, and the pictures do lead one to expect exciting (at least for RSers) things like spaceships, and I won't lie the cities look cool too
  3. it takes a little bit of dexterity to runecraft and fletch, or woodcut and alch at the same time ;o at least if you want to do it efficiently [yt]wisl5P_hwzQ[/yt] I also agree with the above point that some intelligence is required to do things the most efficient way possible. The fact of the matter is, video games are video games when it comes to skill required. None are like playing chess. But people don't always play them for the sake of showing off what they'd like to think are their prodigal gaming skills. Sometimes people just play them for fun.

  5. looks pretty cool. if they never make another interesting update in RS again at least MS might be promising. no skills and no experience makes me pretty curious though lol. conquering millions of planets doesn't sound much better but I'll wait to see and for the record the fact that F2Pers can play for as long as they want to whatever level they want and have access to more than half of the skills in the game removes any question of F2P being a demo
  6. Runescape Classic says hi. I said ANOTHER 5-7 years. When did I ever mention the past? The past is a good indicator. Jagex would have to deliberately ruin RS to make the number of new subscriptions fall below the number of people who quit. Hell, there are people who say they deliberately ruin RS every other week and it's still growing. It's been growing ever since it was created - there are as many players if not more than there were when Jagex launched their assault on RWT, and most people at the time seemed to think that was the end. Mechscape could possibly undermine it but apart from that possibility the game is staying. and @death that is the max gp not xp Nope not true. The max number a java app can hold is 2,147,571,639 or whatever i said. I'm not a programming expert, but the applet itself doesn't deal with any numbers over it... total xp is simply the sum of all your other skills (none of which can exceed 200M), which is never displayed ingame - only on the hiscores, so it only needs to be displayed in html. Of course I have no idea if that's possible or not lol. Guess Gertjaars will find out for us in several months unless he quits

  9. That or most people only bother posting it on relevant topics, L
  10. I agree with Wake Up; 2009 has been a rather boring year to play RS. The only reason I'm still a member is because if I stopped resubscribing would cost $6, and my funorb membership would go up to $3 so it wouldn't save much money. Sure, stuff like the summoning update has been helpful, the Arrav quest was fun while it lasted, but it makes for a pretty dry game when that's all you get. We did get MA, which I will concede probably took a very long time, but it doesn't seem to be that fun of a game to me (admittedly I only played it when 4 player slug it out was the only option). Are upgrades necessary? Absolutely. Is it a good idea to devote an entire year to doing them? ... To the WoW article, I've heard such mixed opinions of WoW I don't think I would ever play it. I am definitely a casual gamer; I have no plans to pay $15 for something so life-consuming. This year I don't know if I'll even be able to play RS because of school. Quests are probably my favorite thing in RS, WoW pretty much doesn't have them, but damn the last one of any importance we got was 8 months ago.
  11. wait, hasn't there been an update every week for months? it just feels like we aren't getting updates because the ones we get are usually so small :<
  12. Someone posted some ridiculous HD pictures taken from two linked HD monitors, you could see the entire span of the fight caves lol. So yes there is quite the advantage to be had if your computer is very good, and it still helps if it's just OK. I can run HD but it lags unless I turn the settings down, and I have to use small screen lol. I still do it unless I'm going sara gwd or tormented demons that require very fast clicking I can't do in HD. :|
  13. The knowledge base entry would appear to be incorrect. The second sentence of the update itself, however, provided all the information anyone could have needed to understand this update. Everyone else did seem to figure it out without trouble. I also provided a more detailed refutation of your argument on page 15 if you did not see it.
  14. I think the opinion of the majority of scapers is just that they really should test their updates before releasing them. You wouldn't need a few thousand people, 5 seems like it would do fine to catch a lot of the bugs lol. Is it really entirely impossible for the QA team to just play through it in the same setting that the players do and find these (rather hard to miss) bugs?
  15. as long as you are being attacked by ANY npc or attacking ANY npc you can send your familiar to fight ANY npc in range
  16. trembake flames summoning as well as anyone who uses or defends it whenever he gets the opportunity, it's pretty good lulz actually. it's quite natural that he wouldn't make any effort to use the update effectively, so I'd say my post was justified
  17. the bolded part says one thing and the italicized part says something entirely different. I just looked at this thread from the general forum, saw trembake as the last post, and said to myself oh I wonder if he's ranting about summoning. I used the steel titan on a fire giant task today, getting 34k slayer xp/hour with no cannon and no piety. I invite you to equal that, or get anywhere near that without summoning. the attack option helped considerably. you suck at using it obviously because you deliberately try to make summoning suck as much as possible to defend your own prejudice against it. I also invite you to stay at any god war dungeon beside bandos indefinitely without using summoning. you will find it impossible. if you spent 5 minutes thinking about how to use the summoning interface effectively, it might occur to you that for things with low hitpoints you should have your summon attack one creature while you attack a different one. you might try using a familiar on slayer monsters, which have low enough defense to make it very effective (and I've gained millions of ranged experience this way so don't bother saying it isn't) instead of players or god wars bosses or whatever the hell you tried using it on. you also might READ THE UPDATE that clearly states how you can re-order the summoning menu in any way you desire. using the left click to bring up follower details is most helpful for using a combat familiar with an offensive scroll. you could attempt that, but you would obviously botch it in an attempt to disprove me. so how about you go and make that warlock
  18. I love your name lol As long as you persevere you can definitely achieve this goal, although tbh 99 ranged will get you 85 slayer, and 99 slayer get you ~52m range xp assuming you don't cannon hehe. Never forget that melee is pro too <3 and good luck with your clues
  19. No threads were found matching your search.
  20. what's with all the people on the rsof demanding a rollback? also, does anyone know if the bandos issue was a glitch or not, need to know whether to buy a few bgs lol. it wasn't listed in the patch notes. :|
  21. OMG YOU CAN USE COMBAT FAMILIARS EFFECTIVELY NOW OMG OMG OMG but dang bruno that sucks :<
  22. LOL WUT ZURE IS STILL ALIVE? So yeah, I went tribriding for the lulz, with the lesson that from now on I'm going to do it with a a pack yak instead of unicorn, I don't really want to think about how many dag bones/hides were wasted that trip haha. Did barrows and got my 2nd or 3rd double chest ever. I also got a dh helm out of the chest a bit later but didn't pic lol. Also went to sara gwd for like 70 kills, not a single drop but I still profited  of the 5 people on the trip 3 of us died at some point. currently I am camping tormented demons, ~175 killed so far with no results yet
  23. maybe or robert the strong is just extremely badass
  24. Well Jagex have dug themselves into a whole by releasing very powerful items usable at relatively low levels... there's no real way they can release true high level equipment without making it unbalanced. The challenge has always been the money, not the stats anyways. How many level 100s do you see with godswords and dragonfire shields? Some, but not many. High levels have the advantage that they can hunt the toughest monsters much more easily, thus earning money for good items a lot faster. So it kind of works. Like everyone, I would love to see a challenging 95+ slayer monster (maybe level 99, seeing as there are now more 99s than there were 90s when dark beasts came out, and we know how fast dark bows crashed) that drops the ulti-weapon, but I don't care too much. Combat works a whole lot better than skills, which need some serious filling out. Then again, slayer is the slowest skill in the game and it stops at level 90. Maybe I do really want that monster...
