That's interesting, because I just wrote out math proving that it is superior, while you have provided none that I can see. Not really, considering that I just stated that it took no time whatsoever to gain the xp, since I gained it while I was meleeing. All the money was provided by slayer. I read the first post, and saw no mention of charms anywhere. I read the last page and saw nothing but you posting in various forms "I am right and you are wrong" with no proof to back up your points. Forgive me for not reading the other 63 pages.

Your post has some pretty bad points. Being a 99 slayer myself, I hope you'll credit what I have to say. Firstly, you claim that slayer gives 50k xp/hour (in a melee skill I presume). I've gotten over 90k/hour on tasks where I can use my steel titan (counting the ranged xp as melee xp, since ranged xp is more valuable in my opinion anyways. If you disagree, I would like to point out that the iron titan can give very close to the same xp rate, having effectively the same max hit, only a slightly slower rate of attack). Of course not all tasks are that fast. Mithril dragons, one of the slowest, yield 30k xp/hour though so I don't think your claim of 50k/hour is realistic. Your example of running out of slayer points to skip the bad tasks is a classic one of mismanagement of your points. I blocked the tasks iron dragons, steel dragons, hellhounds, and greater demons. I never once skipped a task, and had 8700 slayer points promptly exchanged for 62k magic darts at the end of the road. This brings me to the other claim, that slayer is bad money. Although it's by no means extraordinary, it certainly isn't bad. I averaged 50k/hour from slayer points alone. I also got 10 whips and 10 dark bows along the way to 99 (which is miserably bad luck imo lol), as well as 60-ish dragon boots. 91-99 slayer yielded 10M in alchable rune items, so presumably I got 7-8M from the previous stint. Assuming 520 total hours for 99 slayer, that would be 165k/hour on average, plus all the xp gained. Going with Zarfot's average of 80k melee xp/hour and yours of 110k/hour, I lost 133 hours maxing melees to make 85M, a favorable exchange if you value time at 645k/hour or less, which is approximately correct for me as my best sustainable income is astral runes, which are slightly lower. That isn't to mention the fact that I got 99 slayer along the way too, of course. If you throw the slayer xp in being as valuable as melee xp, the skill becomes 105k/hour as opposed to zombie monkeys' 110k/hour, not to mention the profit from slayer. Of course, slayer actually being 1/4 the speed of melees, it is in my opinion 4x as valuable, which would make training slayer considerably better for training slayer than zombie monkies. Obviously lol. In regard to using slayer to train ranged, all I have to say is that I went from 80 ranged to 16M ranged in my goal of 99 slayer. 1-2M xp perhaps came from the god wars dungeon, 500k of it was from chinning, and the rest was from my steel titan or cannoning. Not bad considering that it took effectively no time. :P It cost money of course, but that was my decision. I maintain that after AFKing, it is the most efficient way to train. Edit: One more thing, I forgot entirely about summoning. Aside from being ownage, it can also be trained very effectively by slayer. From 91-99 slayer (7m exp), I received charms for 96-16m summoning (8m exp). Zombie monkeys don't give charms. So yeah.
  3. not with barrows armor brewed piety and a unicorn ;o
  4. It was Denlak then I decided to play with the ring of charos, after a ton of cycling through I finally got back to the semi-decent Denrak lol, one day I should spend half an hour cycling through more names to get back to the start
  5. it's an interesting storyline given the connection with arposandra (and therefore the elves as well); if we're lucky this quest will take us to a very interesting place. the final pickaxe/crossbow would seem like a feasible reward if they make the last quest hard. months just for this quest, not to mention the others, is a bit depressing though
  6. thanks everyone <33 updated my goals so you people will know what i'm up to lol I plan on starting with 90 woodcutting
  7. they weren't very good anagrams tbh. trying to be clever can backfire if you don't succeed. because someone said that certain characteristics of your posting style are reminiscent of that of a forum troll does not mean you need to state that someone called you a troll in your signature. anyways welcome to tif and enjoy your stay.
  8. Maybe, but the human mind feels most comfortable with symmetric, geometric figures, such as a complete circle. Last time I checked, this game was made and run by humans. Yeah, but Jagex doesn't make everything geometric. In fact very little of it is geometric. That and I thought the game was being run by penguins... with thumbs. OFF TOPIC: What's up with the *blocked due to abuse* thing? ON TOPIC: Your proof? Everything in RuneScape is pretty geometric, just look at the world. It's pretty much a rectangle. Look at the islands, they're all rectangles too. Irl, it's extremely rare to find coastlines like that, so obviously Jagex is catering to their human nature. if you were referring to Ape atol for example when you wrote this, i think that it was made that way because it wouldve been hard to make it have irregular shapes as coastlines normally would. Jagex wasnt that big of a company back then and Monkey Madness came out somewhat recently after Rs2 did. Perhaps they didnt have the time or the recourses to do that? Even today time may still be the issue for that. But for the Tzhaar is a circle city and we only see 1/4th of the city, i do hope that, that is the case. volcanoes are circular, the karamja one no exception it's possible that a city doesn't extend all the way around, but from what I've witnessed the tzhaar are pretty good at building tunnels through things. if it doesn't it's probably because they didn't feel like making a city that big. it's without a doubt due for expansion though, around the doubtlessly circular volcano center
  9. thanks everyone <3 I was using SK and hit printscreen. It was like uhhhhhhhhhh... uhhhhhhhhhh... uhhhhhhhhh uhhhhhhh... O MESSAGES GONE *SCREENIES*
  10. Well, 10 months ago I wrote a blog declaring my goal to achieve perfection in every combat and combat-related skill. Since then I've knocked them down one (and 2 and 3 :P) at a time. Today I maxed the last one. Yes everyone and their mothers knows the screenshot did not occur in time. [hide=Me rambling a lot about how I trained]To recap the journey, my plan was to use slayer to max melees, and ranged and make money at the God Wars Dungeon to pay for 99 prayer as well as 99 magic at rock lobsters, which combined with slayer would yield 99 summoning. It was assumed 99 hitpoints would occur somewhere along the way, which it did. :P Everything went largely according to plan. I have had to this day 1 armadyl and 5 saradomin hilts (all 3 or 4 man) as well as 30-some saradomin swords (one solo, the reward for 400-ish solo kills :|). I also made some of the required money from runecrafting, dagannoth kings, and pleasingly While Guthix Sleeps. Although I've never had a pair of claws, I did the quest the day it came out and sold my reward shard for 10.8M. That evening I got another shard, also sold for 10.8M. The next day I got another, selling it for 11.9M. I stayed at tormented demons for around 400 kills but got no further drops and abandoned the pursuit when Jagex lowered the drop rates and made them harder lol. Slayer worked quite well for maxing the melees as expected, and ranged as well. Of my current 16M ranged experience (of which I had about 3M when I began my goal, although a lot of that was from slayer as well), I would estimate 1-2M is from monster hunting, 700k is from ape atoll chinning (I wanted 99 ranged and summoning on the same day but needed to be in the top 1k summoning as well hehe), and 2M from chinning my nechyrael tasks (only before 99 ranged). The rest is from cannoning and the steel titan. I did not cannon excessively (in my opinion :P) using it for dagannoth, kalphites, warped terrorbirds, scabarites, aberrant spectres, goraks, bloodveld, and suqahs. I used it on dark beasts until the mid 90s when I decided it was a waste (switching to piety instead), and fire giants until 99 summoning when I switched to the chaos tunnels with a steel titan. Both proved almost as fast and much cheaper. I used the titan on every multicombat task except for scabarites, where I used a unicorn stallion. My block-list was hellhounds and greater demons (crowds), irons dragons and steel dragons (crowds and bad experience). Possibly as a result of this I am yet to get a draconic visage lol. I don't regret my choice however, as the only other tasks that I would consider blocking are warped terrorbirds (which are very good experience if you cannon and are good with chimes), black dragons (which can be easily killed in baby black dragon form in the chaos tunnels, along with the green dragons your titan will randomly kill and perhaps yield a green dragon egg :)), and skeletal wyverns (which can easily be done in 1 trip with a unicorn stallion and summoning potions, aren't that bad experience if you use piety, and drop a TON of crimson charms, not to mention the visage if you are lucky). Speaking of piety, I used it sometimes and only sometimes. :P I used superhuman strength on every task I didn't though - I would highly recommend it as it is very cheap but makes a very large difference. I used piety on dark beasts and wyverns for the attack/strength boost, and scabarites for the defence boost. I repotted my stats every 10 minutes. I used the dragon dagger(p++) or saradomin godsword specials for each task, using the sgs only if I took enough damage to warrant healing obviously. It isn't life-changing but it's cool to have a godsword. :P Aaaaaaand that's how I slayed. If you want to learn more, I strongly recommend reading Zarfot's Mega Slayer Guide on the RSOF. Quick find code: 98-99-703-58532304. His other guides are good too. :P[/hide] Smoking Kills came out when I was about 85 slayer, and I did it straight away. I have never burthorped or even skipped a task since then - only blocked the aforementioned 4. Here is my current streak: ... and slayer point count... (noting that I would have 4000 more if I hadn't spent them to get money to make the pouches for 99 summoning; in other words NEVER skip tasks unless you want to waste 157k/skipped task) Here's a bank picture too because they're interesting. To speak briefly about summoning, 99 magic at rock lobsters yielded charms to take me to about 8M summoning xp. The other 6M xp I have was slayed, in addition to the charms I have currently banked, which will take me to over 16M when I spend them. :) Although slayer certainly is good cash, I don't think I came quite close to the 400M other people have claimed lol. I've had 10 whips and 10 bows, as well as 50-60 dragon boots (estimated, including boots from sara kc). Slayer points earned me around 22M but people didn't have those in the past anyways. Alching all my stuff will yield well under 10M, so how people made such riches (even when drops were more valuable, but not by a factor of 5) eludes me. [hide=Bank] [/hide] All the alchables were from 91-ish to 99 slayer. MTK has been in a month or 2 I think lol. Since this is the culmination of my combat journey (although I do plan on rank chasing a bit :P) I'll post the other 99s I have achieved along this goal as well. [hide=99s of Christmas Past] [/hide] Also, today I just noticed that I was at 199.1M total xp so I busted out 2k crimsons and did some summoning. The end.
  11. why does his score drop for not selling it? there is no item in the game nearly as valuable (in terms of supply and demand, except for maybe the divine shield), it's continually rising, and it's the best shield in the game :P 10/10
  12. So lag when taking screenshots fails, thanks to EVERYONE who came though, it means the world to me <3 So now I'm going to dream up some new goals and turn my combat maxing blog into something else. I do plan to slay for more ranks ofc.
  13. grats colo, <3 xano, thanks locke and wiz and turn pikes and grade (also for telling me about time zones L) and etp and gremmy i think because I can't be at home when I originally scheduled my party I will be getting it at 11:00 am EDT (GMT-4). If anyone has time questions, it will be 16 hours and 10 minutes after this post was made. to keep myself entertained I decided to mage some rexes today with some reward Yak is amazing for banking bones and hides. Partway into my first unicorn however, someone else with claws and 99 magic came and crashed me. somehow he managed to get most of the kills, and also tried to kill me by luring on prime. I got pretty angry and lured supreme and rex onto him and left, but I doubt it messed up his trip unfortunately. It's lame the depths people stoop to because they cba hopping to one of the different available full worlds. After that I duoed some TDs and wasn't very good at it, moved onto corp and got a drop i thought was notable at the time but it turns out is down to 300k lol. Posting anyways for fun.
  14. he unloaded it :P great job chris now I can compete with your lsp again <3
  15. ahhahahahahaha 10/10 I think I'll do it
  16. they should fool us by giving us an amazing update that's real :(
  17. o yay ty everyone I will get 99 slayer on Saturday April 4 at 11:00 am EDT (GMT-4) in Shilo Village W99.
  18. we'll be getting our 99s on the same day :P good job, and I strongly advise 99 firemaking next =p
  19. good luck with RCing, if you can make it past 85 you beat me lol. magic's pretty hawt too.
  20. it's nice but slow with exclusively herbs lol. glad to know you're still playing though, thanks I will <3 at 98 slayer it was cool to finally get one of these
  21. it seems largely accurate, but... I regret not having a picture proof, and not really having the motivation to go take a picture but hope you'll take my word on this. When I used grey chins to train ranged (before I had 99, but range potted to up to 111 using eagle eye, accurate, and void) I hit lots of 16s and the calculator says the max is 10. I'll ask any friends who may be chinning to get a pic if possible, if you do too that would be nice lol. I guess it could be a bug that the game says their strength is 0. However, the max of reds is probably well above the calculated 16 as well.
