Hey everyone I am amazed by the great replies I have received from you all! I am getting the impression that this is the list of things you find impressive in order of importance: 1. Community minded, you help out other players, don't call people a noob, play for the lol's 2. You are "skillfull" someone that knows what they are doing in a minigame such as greatorb project. 3. You have high total and non combat skills/items e.g adze/ slayer cape/ rc cape 4. High Combat Level 5. Expensive Items such as partyhat/other rares/gs Hehe nice nice! I also got the impression that higher level players are not impressed anymore, the reason would be because they have acheived most things in the game. My Poor Analogy: [hide=]Kind of like if you owned a Ferrari(138), you wouldnt be impressed by another Ferrari(138) but if you saw an old muscle car custom(slayerbelle) you would find it unique and impressive? (i failed)[/hide] Just for conversational value about this time last year I was playing alot more than I am now, and I got kind of burnt out from Runescape. Every morning I would wake up turn my computer on, put in my offer of 100 guthan helms, plates, spears and chainskirts. Then every afternoon I would make them into a set and then sell them off, making around 10mill a day. This was all to much for me so I decided to "quit" as many players reading this have in the past. I dropped 600m in the falador party room, all money I had made from 2006-2008. I started back up RS in December 2008-or Jan 2009 after having a break from RS and realising I didnt need to quit, but rather just play the game for what it is. So this year starting from scratch I began my journey to 99 slayer (from level 80) it took me about six months from level 80 and it was the best time I have ever had playing the game. Im not worried about money at all, I used to be a dirty greedy merchant. And I would say it was impressive players I met on my slayer journeys. I am good friends with many and impressive people like that made runescape for me. Anyways thats my post for the morning, if you see me logged in ill 100% be at waterfiends, getting the last 3k crimsons for 99summoning. Feel free to add me if you like :D (remember 2 spaces not 1)... well until name changing comes out lol :P

[hide=] I'm not really impressed by high levels/wealth anymore because it's more common now/I've experienced it myself. The only thing that amazes me anymore are unique accounts - i.e that d.i.y guy. and I don't really get complimented much because I don't spend my money on good gear lol [/hide] Haha I love that screeny, that guy in the dragon summed up the "look" from 2005 of what a high leveled player looked like! behold his 30 mill dragon chainbody, legends cape and shiny new rune boots from the new slayer skill :D Also I remember that desert boots were huge fashion back in the day!

The year is 2002, the place, Fallador mine. I am mining on king giovas (with one space) I am level 32 combat.... ....boomboomboom, I see the other person mine the ore next to me! right clicking, it reads combat-103 Wow! I look at the sheer size of the number... one--hundered--and----threee! ZOMG................ .............The year is 2009, alot has now changed level 103 is not special at all these days, everyone is running around with godswords, skillcapes and other hard to obtain items. I look at my little avatar.. seven years I been playing Runscape, and what makes me more accomplished than these players, nothing I conclude. There are blogs of players getting 138 combat in less than one year, what can I do to be that "level 103 from 2002" what can I do to stand out? So in conclusion many of you have been playing for years, what are your thoughts? Does seeing a 138 with a party hat impress you? If not what does? When is the last time anyone has said to you something like "nice whip" or something along those lines? :)happy runeventures! *edit: omg just found out mod dylan is back--- new elf quests plox /dance

Wow a lot of people have really been overanalysing my use of words, when i said heros i didn't mean who do you worship as if they are you god, i meant who do u draw inspiration from to do or say things from. Sorry for using the word hero, please guys, lets lighten up and just enjoy the forum and not get all strung up. "I have no heros its just a game" - come on guys, thats no a response, you know what im trying to get at. thanks for the good responses so far in general.

Hi there fellow tip.iters I am making this thread because I want to know who you look up to in runescape. It must not be an npc, but an actual player. For many players it will be "experienced players" such as zezima or gert For me my hero would be Qeltar, he had a great site "truthscape" and was a great member or these forums. Always full of insight and useful comments, zarfot comes close too :) Any thoughts? who is your hero? :thumbup:

Hi there fellow tip.iters I am King__Giovas (two spaces) how you all doing today? I thought I would just share an idea I had with myself on the boring train trip home from work. My little brother has shot up in height, it all happened all of a sudden. Day in day out, I thought there was no change, but wow was I wrong.... ...sound familiar? RUNESCAPE! I have been in Greece the last six weeks, it was not a holiday from Australia, it was also a break from Runescape. Upon Returning the game forums have been filled with complaints and rants. I will tell you this, the game has changed soo much but you have not noticed! Prior to the holiday I would have agreed with you guys, but seriously, jagex have been working hard! Also to the wow section: honestly i think wow is a better game, but i am lvl 137 and almost got 300m xp i would feel it a waste to go from my lvl 137 in rs to my lvl 17 in wow,.

Quests: HD, fullscreen 2. Easy slayer tasks: HD Fullscreen 3. Tears of Guthis: Lowest Detail 4. Killing Waterfiends: Lowest Detail 5. 99parties: High Detail, not fullscreen So how about you guys? This picture got me very excited. and for one reason only/ THE TWO DWARFS FIGHTING I am a huge tolkien fan, and I remember how interested all the different dwarf families/clans are in the Middle Earth universe. The first time i entered keldagrim all those years ago i felt like i was visiting Moria in its glory from The Lord of The Rings. I am intrigued by the red axe and there different partys that rule the dwarf lands, and i know im going to obtain more interesting lore from the dwarf series, which is definitely my favorite. Jagex quests have be excellent all year, many have complained that they are far too low level. I don't care however all im interested in is lore and comedic value, something the new dwarf installment will deliver! kebabs anyone?

Currently, in 2009 all my money has pretty much come from training my slayer up. All of it is going to be spent on 99summon. also i do kingdom, and battlestaffs. i do not merchant anymore.

I loved the prayer article.. grah it really buged me, only cause it made me get frustrated with myself! when did i start runescape! the million dollar question, i would love to find out! :D I dont remember old prayers and i dont remember old POH in fally. so im guesing maybe i started in mid or even late 2002? Can somoene help me, i have the distant memories of turotrial island in runescape classic.. i think the tutorial was different to the rs2 tutorial, i believe part of the rsc tutorial island was "wildy like" and there was like a "wildy" tutor teaching you about death and wildy and how dangerous it was.. can anyone confirm this? it was almost 7 years ago, its been a bit of a blur, grahh.. I think at the end of the tutorial you get on a boat to the main land... grahh (memory failing) The prayer article was really well written, also would have been good to add about the (x) feature for altar. it didnt detract, im just saying would just have further reinforced the point of how easy it is these days if you "you are an uber 26ker,,,oops i mean pker" As for the economic article, I didnt enjoy it. I know it is an important issue, but I play Runscape to escape the real world of economics and business. To be honest back in 2008 I was a massive merchant, I dont merchant anymore, so ill tell you what i did. Everyday, I would wake up before uni/work, buy like 20-30 guthan helms, plates,legs,spears. I would then make them into "sets" and I would flip 5-10m a day for 5mins of GE work. In around september last year I decided to "quit" and i had like a 600m drop party. Anyways, I stoped for 3months, and started back up again in 2009. I dont touch merchanting now. I just cant be bothered, id rather just pretend it is not part of the game in my eyes, and i just try to make my money from slaying, my kingdom, and my daily battlestaffs. So when I read articles like this, i read it with far less enthusiasm and interest then i would have say 2008. This will seem hiporitical comming from someone that mas merchanted so much in the passed, by.. grahh, i not sure if i can get the words out... I just dont care really. The game is much more interesting training your skills up and not having to worry about making more and more and more moneys. All I been doing this year has been training my slayer level. Im going to be 99 in about 4-5 days, and you know what 2009 has been the best year for me. Sure I dont have partyhats like i used to. Sure I cant afford to slay in the best gear. Sure im probably gona have to RC or kill green dragons if i wanna get 99summon. But at the end of the day, having "unlimited" money actualy makes the game less fun. It is fun having limitations and not being able to do things in the game cause your too poor. It gives you something to work towards. If your in a merchant clan. I spit on your face. You make me sick. What are you going to do with your wealth smoking mills and goldmerch you greedy nerds? What are you going to do, go be like every other GE manipulator, do nothing but buyable skills like herblore or cons or prayer? pfft, those capes mean nothing if the profit was made through what i see as illegal activity. You disguesting GE manipulators, you ruining the game for everyone else, people play the game to slay dragons, go on great adventures and make friends. Dont you see that? When is enough for you pigs?

Hey there. just read everypost so far. as a level 98 slayer (600k off 99) im happy with what jagex has given me. I am just disguested reading throug these forums and seeing people rant about the level requirement. You sound like a winging bunch of babys, im not a wanabe mod or jagex lover, but this Jagx hating isgeting out of hand. Stop being a bunch of emotionless, detached ranters and just say this. "thanks jagex, you have been working really hard, thanks for putting player input into the naming of this monster" Jagex staff are so sick of everyone complaining about absolutly everything, the community is getting older and more mature, but they also getting abit over the top. Step back, relax.

When Smoking Kills first came out, there was already a thread about this stranger portal. However it was realy talked aobut much (reached 2-3 pages) and i find it really interesting to know what it is. When im slaying those spectres with my badboy cannon it kind of seems like the abarant spectres were like staff in a science lab and the something has come through a portal and killed them, and the mystical properties of the machine has turned them into evil., undead spectres... ...thats just what i get the impression (very doom 2 i know) And if it is not some kind of transdimensional portal from fransakee, it can only be one more thing: This portal is a portal back to the black hole from classic in 2001. OMG wouldnt that be the coolest?!!!!!!!!!!! BEST UPDATE EVER IF YOU COULD GO BACK FOR A QUEST! OMG IM REALLY EXCITED RIGHT NOW

sir beachy does allthough i think he told me he levelled it to level 2 hehe. but its level 1 or 2 and has done dragon slayer and all that. he still plays on 0_o_o0_00 thats pretty cool hehe, i remember going to my friends house back in the day and watching him player members in classic and seeing the lvl 3 guy in heroes guild and i was like wtf

I actually really like the idea of a noncomnbat skill giving such an awsome benefit to a skill, however i dont like the mix of skills. Runecrafting should be to magic and smithing is to mele or fletch is to range. Thats just my own personal opinion, and im sure everyone has different thoughts :) peace out

ok sounds good to me. here is what im doing in rs atm. I am curently just finishing off slayer, gona be 99 in aobut 8-10days. The Greece for 5 weeks, when I get back im going for 99fishing. Im not even trying to be funy or anything, but i would say earnet the chicken. For my skill level in the game, that was a really challening quest going through all those doors. That was 8 years ago! wow nothing about that quest has changed either and im still a noob :P
