A few fishing Quetions
Hey everyone, im going to be 99slayer soon, and i want to eventualy get my fishing from 92 to 99. I was just wanting to know a few things: 1. What is the chance of getting a large shark when fishing? 2. What is the chance of getting a large swordfish when fishing? 3. I dont really care about profit, I just want a felaxing thing to do like when i got 99wc at willows, would you suggest shilo fishing? 4. What are all the official fishing worlds for all the diferent fishing methods? 5. Also what familiar should i use whilst fishing? I havnt fished since 2007 lol :P

-----Hellhounds Now F2P-----
interesting responses guys, the general gist i am getting is "i dont mind free to play having a new monster, but they sohuld not have drops because they didnt have drops for all the long years they been out in members" On the issue, I am 137 and members, so I got better things to do than kill Hellhounds. I used to kill them for slayer tasks, till about 95 slayer, then I just realised they are a waste of time, and for my half the fun from a task is having an inventory full of herbs, runes, gold and items etc... Now I have blocked them, so im not like "campaigning" for new items, cause im never going to be 99slayer and 10 days so idc, I just wanted to put a drop table out their and read your opinions. I also found it intersting that some responses were along the lines of "if f2p get new content so should we", I dont agree with this, whilst they do not directly pay to play runescape, they still contribute to the game via adretising and alot of higher level free to players have written some great guys here and RSOF, so to me this point is invalid, f2p players are brothers not enemies to me to put it simply. In my opinion this area really has nothing going for it anyway. I just checked it out after a slayer task, it is soo spread out. thus it is not really efficient training. Also you cant read forums etc cause you gota be contantly on th elook out for revs, and the revs at my lvl, quite simply "pwn" if your not prepared. :) Happy Runeventures

Just the vast majority of high level monsters drop those items, but they're so rare most people never get them anyway. Jagex would probably add all three. okay thats good reasoning, mutated bloosvelds drop them too. ill add to the list
-
-----Hellhounds Now F2P-----
ohh yeah! ill add those too! cheers edit: i have added spears and halfshields to list, i will not add med however cause well, im not sure if it really needs them as a drop? do you really think they should be added? post back i wanna know what you think :P

-----Hellhounds Now F2P-----
Hello there fellow tip.it ers, yesterday we saw the release of Hellhounds in f2p There are a few questions that I would like to ask. Question 1: What do you think of Hellhounds being f2p now, do you like this idea? Question 2: Is Hellhounds in free to play worth it, with their only drops being bones? Question 3: If you want to do something and be a bit creative, how about create a new drop table? and us tip.iters can discuss Here are my answers: 1. I like the idea of Hellhounds in free to play. A new high levle monster is a bit of fun to kill, but half the fun is getting items as drops too :) 2. No, I dont think hellhounds ever were worth killing, i dont even do them for slayer tasks in p2p 3. Drop Table: Runes: Fire (30)..common Death (8)...average Blood (3) *note none in f2p...rare Law Rune (2)..rare Weapons: Mithril Mace: common Adamant Mace: common Rune Mace: rare Mithril Shortsword: common Adamant Shortword: common Rune Shortsword: common Dragon Spear: mega uncommon (*members) Fire Staff: uncommon Armour: Mithril Platelegs: average Adamtant Platelegs : average Rune Platelegs: very rare mithril med helm:very common addy med helm:common rune med helm:rare Dragon Left half:mega rare, (*members) Dragon Med Helm: mega rare, (*members) Herblore related Grimy Guam: very common (members only) Grimy Tarromin: very common (members only) Grimy Irit: rare (members only) Grimy Kuarm: rare (members only) Grimy Rannarr: very rare (members only) Noted unicorn horn: 2 (common) Noted Waterfilled Vial: 2 (common) Other: gold (32, 643, 1322) ashes: 100% lobster (rare) clue scroll 3 (rare) Gems: saphire (common) emerald (common) ruby (rare) diamond (very rare) crystal key (super rare) Charms: Gold (very common) Green (average) Crimson (average-rare) Blue (very rare)

Are you self suffcient?
yeah, and i am giving my opinion of self sufficieny otherwise the thread would look like this: "i am self sufficient" player3232 "i am kind of self suffi3ecint" player212 "i are not self suffiecient " playa 212 * not very interesting, so thought would be good to debate if it is 'good" or "bad" to be self sufficient.

Are you self suffcient?
Self sufficiency isn't about profits, nor is Runescape. The point of both is to have fun. If you like being self sufficient, you should be. If not, then buy the stuff. There is no right or wrong answer to this question, after all. Lol! Self sufficiency = not fun. How is doing something a 4 year old fun. If you like waisting your time, sitting infront of a tree bored out of your brains cause you dont understand how the game works do that. If you want to unlock all the game content and really have fun, use the GE. There actually is a right and wrong answer, and that is "do what is the most fun/efficient" do not waist your time to be "self suffiecint" 99 coking is 99 cooking if you fished the fish or didnt.. either way. I know this may seem wrong in many readers eyes. But in my years of playing, training one skill for a week is better than changing skills every 20mins. I am training slayer at the moment, I am going to be level 99, I use cannon in most cannonable tasks, why would i want to be "self suffiecit" and waste my time doing things such as making cannonballs, making my own potions, it works out better to sell all my herbs, buy pots, sell items like d boots in the GE and buy more cannonballs.... self sufficiency.. hmm yawns [/hide] Your idea of fun is not everybody's idea of fun. I personally enjoy fishing and woodcutting. And, no, I am not 4 years old. And, yes, I do understand how the game works. If you haven't noticed, the highscores are based on a thing called "experience", not networth. Therefore, experience is the thing to strive for in this game. LOL? look me up? I think I am doing pretty well in the highscores without at all being selfsufficient. Being effiecint and using player trade/ GE is a factor helping you increase your xp and gold per hour.. In fact I am very poor for my level, (80m) all up. So it shows you that whilst I have a low networth, I have made alot of experience from being efficient and trading etc. (over 280million) I never said oyu were 4, but anyone that has studied basic highschool economics (im a universtiy student) will understand the principle of comparative advantage. To be honest, you do not understand this principle and you are just an average runescape player that has not yet come to a soft of "enlightement" of sorts where you realise the true relationship of time. methods.and money in the game. I love woodcutting too, I enjoyed cutting willows and I love fishing too, but I would rather get the fastest xp per hour possible., then after do something more monetarily rewarding... eg. If you play for 2 hours. better to fish at barbarian whirpool for 1 hour than rc for 1 hour, than fish sharks for 2 hours. Its really basic what im saying. players that are self sufficient are waisting their time when they could be doing better things. Sorry if i am comming across as rude, but if you follow this prinicple you will: a. be richer in the long run b. be able to spend more time doing fun things and end game content earlier c. have more xp and levels How arrogant can you get? as unk0wnwarrior pointed out, it is a game and therefore we play to have fun. If someone thinks that gathering their own materials and playing at a slower pace is fun, then it is for them. It isn't stupid, and it isn't a waste of time. Hell, I could say that you are wasting your time training Slayer past 90 because it offers no more benefits after that, but I don't because everyone players differently. You are entitled to your own opinion, of course, but it is completely ignorant to say that self sufficiency is "wrong" and anyone who thinks otherwise is four years old. and i said i play for fun to and i have fun not bein self suffiecint. from an economic view, it actualy is wrong to be selfsufficient.. grah

eveyrone seems to be complaining on this thread and the answer is : guys if you wanna slay like a champ use sumona, dragons are not worth the slayer xp they give unless u want money. if going for fast slayer xp, use sumona. she offers alot of cannonable tasks/fast tasks, makes good slaying... 1.5m off 99 slayer... xx

But if they were only given for a short time, what's the big deal about removal? You didn't lose anything; you were merely provided with a temporary larger amount of PvP space which you no longer possess. Don't call me a wannabe-mod. I have no desire for such a position; it merely irks me when someone brings an old topic up again weeks after the thread has died. 1. It was good having this many worlds, just because it was only in place for a short amount of time does not detract from thr fact that a good amount of game worlds was in place until the changes involved. Whilst it was temporary, it was great for the clan community. 2. As I stated, it was on the first page of rants, and two weeks does not constitute as "an old topic" (i have already stated this) I dont care if it "irks" you, i have every right to post on this thread and voice my opinion. The thread creator hit the nail on the head, and the majority of the tip.it that dont pk/pvp had a go at him cause they are just skillers etc and they do not understand. Post back if you want, i dont really care I can go all day.

How Much is Your Account Worth to You?
Runescapew44 asked Mod MMG, it was an insane amount of hours Rsw44 had on his account. That was 3 months ago(that was ~6700 hours back then) I'm sure I'm well over 7000 hours now  They do plan to make total play time viewable to everyone soon so everyone can know then :P But as for how much I'd sell my account for I don't think I would but you never know what you'll do if you get offered something like 10 grand. Hehehe thats scary, 7k for you, judging by xp alone id be close to 10k hours, thats like a year of pure runescape! awsome!

11th June 2009 - Macro-detection systems update
Raven thats a good way of looking at it. i for once will admit I am wrong and take back my prior comments. You see I read everything on everypage and it pretty much seemed like 1001 facts about autoing, and in the last 10mins of reading it i learnt more than i have in my 7years of Runescape. I now see that this was for good intentions, so ill edit and remove the prior posts. After reading this thread I search scar and visited the forums and read their "general forum" they are split up into two sides. One side is confident that their "scripts" or something are still undetectable, the other side are trembling aobut the prospect of getting banned.

Are you self suffcient?
Whats the point of being self sufficient, if you are then you are waisting your time. In my experience in the game, you do what your best at. eg. if i need money I will just RC the nats and buy the pure essence. Minning the pure ess and then crafting it is a waste of my time. Sure I miss out on some minning experience, but i can just power mine some ores after I rc, and still make more money than I would have bein self sufficient. Money is time, time is money. All items have a time and monetary cost. If you got 99minning dont use your level 40 fishing to get lobbies for Pking, be smart, dont waste your time. Mine some rune ore for 1 hour. then sell the urne ore and buy some lobs... And remember the GE is your no.1 asset :) Sure some players are selfsufficient, but in the long run, they could have obtained more by applying very basic economic principles to their training. (puts on anti shield)
