You won't get very far if you are only going for one skull. The chance for long or curved bone is 1/30(i think this is the exact rate, atleast i've gotten VERY close to it over 20k+ jars), so 1/15 for a bone, for 1875 xp on average, 125k xp per one skull.

Right now the merchants are just capitalizing on the update so it's not really a showing of what actual torstol farming will be in the future, but no doubt it's no longer profitable without potions(but the change is second to none for other herbs, bar maybe snap).

I can most certainly deny this 150k/hr with horns nonsense. That would be 75k/hr regular. Thats a stretch. If you would have said 65k/hr I might believe it, since I don't drop and get about 50-55k/hr... I think the absolute best mining xp on gold at living caverns is 80k an hour assuming mousekeys for dropping. I think lover romeo claimed a rate of 85k an hour on granite before horns were released, so 150k xp in a single hour is possible, but not an average(but we are getting a bit much off-topic, my love).

Gear being on the bottom is a problem... And even you can't deny this, the new system isn't a definite improvement over the old one in every situation, let alone most situations(which kind of questions the need for an update like this). As for constants, the problem with those is designing experiments which could predict the accuracy of the constant to the 7+(up to around 10th) digit, which is not really a problem for normal usage(accuracy up to the 3rd or 4th digit is usually more than enough). I mentioned gp/ xp rates, which are constant at given ge prices, not xp/h rates, which depend on alot of factors which can't be accounted for accurately, but can be estimated as an average(someone could say they got 150k mining xp an hour, but when you take filling BA horn into account, the xp rate is only around 110k an hour).

I think primal spear is a terrible bind no matter what assuming you can switch rings effectively(mostly between melee/magic or melee/range). What, however, i'd like to see is 4 binds with hood, rapier, blood ammy and golden precision brace(and celebox for mage) for max melee offense. I think a setup like that with a few primal 2h's/HHB's to complement would be really, really good.

He always stood out in a crowd. I remember him trying to bind me so his DI friends could pk me around the MB. I got away because half his gear was flippers and bunny ears lol. Last time I saw something from him was a post on RSC maybe 1-2 years ago. It seems like a bunch of the old school tifers migrated over to RSC. Probably because of the clan/pking boards. I think he actually migrated from tip to di forums(which i think had the best community of any forums, and was TIMES more cut-throat than these boards) and was exceptionally active there for a few years before he quit. Haven't heard anything from him since that time.

Before you could click on the pile until all the very expensive items are taken and then take the rest of the low alch items and non-food items. Now, you have to right click everything, which is terrible. Definitely not an improvement. Also, how can you criticize gp/xp rates when they are effectively a constant. It would be like you criticizing the universal gas constant just because it can have too many dimensions, which, no doubt, you'd do.

Herb seeds from slayer are profit from slayer. Herbs from farming are profit from farming. Herblore xp from making pots is a loss from herblore. Combining any of these doesn't make it more effective or efficient(furthermore as it's so easy to buy/sell items). If you have cash, make some higher level potions for ~20 gp/xp. If you don't have cash, clean herbs or make barbarian mixes, but know it'll take tons more time.

Sorry for the offtopic but... god damn was he a crazy guy! I'd almost forgotten about him(and his bunny ears, mithril chain, infinity bottoms and flippers). If anyone ever needs an example of a guy who was as inefficient as possible but a great guy with a great personality, he was the standard.

If you want fastest kills cannon is a must. If you use the best equipment and use the best of everything, 100 kills an hour is easily possible(no safespot for fex). Any sort of two-way hybrid can't be very efficient/effective.

It really depends on how much you are earning. If you can make more than 3m an hour(estimated figure), frost dragon bones are the best. I'd personally altar the dagannoth bones, furthermore as they seem to be very efficient right now.

Isn't it funny that the topic is about where the nice people have gone and involves ''nice'' people practically flaming players that prefer efficiency. Also, it's funny that you mentioned RSOF as though everyone first started to use those(or maybe you did). Some of us were around for scapeboard, much before the idea of RSOF even surfaced. I also hate to see the efficiency discussion yet again- some people seem to think having efficient and smart people are terrible for this community for trying to be serious and on-point about runescape discussion, where as lazy and friendly players improve the community. If there is a serious discussion about a serious topic, it is very counter-productive for a lazy person to try to derail a discussion with uneducated information. At the same time, if a discussion is about how to have fun, it'd be stupid for an efficient player to put their nose in there with inappropriate discussion. Everyone can't be knowledgeable about everything, thus it makes sense for people to pick what they post about(there have been quite a few people saying that they feel uncomfortable about posting on some discussions, which is normal as i see it). As for the guy i'm quoting(as we can't name names), he is the only person i genuinely feel is being poisonous for many discussions and, more often than not, tries to derail topics and flame others for no apparent reason. Don't get me wrong, even he can be helpful, but somehow, he always seems to come in and insult people the others would categorize as efficient. Makes you wonder...

This is a good way of looking at it. For example, for frost dragons, sw cape is almost always worth it as you are using a LOAD of prayer.

Running the pouches takes so little time that it's always worth it to do the highest pouch you can. Only secondary cost should be a factor in making you make a lower pouch.

It'd be a poor community if everyone was trying to be nice about everything. I actually enjoy people using varied replies for different situations that might not be nice, but are entertaining and truthful(sarcasm, minor flaming, pseudo-trolling etc).

Well, they did release another update alongside this one, so maybe(or likely you have) you should check that out. In any case, i haven't seen any strict confirmation of updates coming out at exact dates so i don't see a reason to blame them for anything. If they write something down in the BTS and don't release it in that month, then yes, they are at fault(although they'll never own up to it) but seeing as there is another 5 days in this month, there isn't reason to complain just yet(and i don't see any reason to complain about update x not being up your street anyway. I, for one, passionately hate quests...).

And the reason everything in this world has to revolve around you is....? The fact is, this is actually a very good update for skillers and even gives some nice benefits for pkers, without actually requiring high levels(i think the highest is 81 hunter). Definitely a nice update.

Depends how easy the potions are to obtain. They're untradable, after all. Assuming a pot lasts for around 5 minutes(one farming run, haven't seen any info on how long they last) it would average 33% more herbs, which would increase the profit significantly, but, at the same time, would increase seed prices, possibly killing normal torstol farming.

rapier is a much bigger improvement over whip than maul is over zs/ss, not to mention you shouldn't encounter waterfiends nearly as often as alot of other slayer monsters. If you aren't very serious about boss hunting all of the chaotic melee weapons are great, only difference is, rapier really excels in training/slayer.

Erm, with everyone having 2h's, why would you specifically need a slash specialist weapon? doesn't make any sense to me. In any case, the rapier is better than longsword for slashing up to around 160 defense(medium defense) and is up to 16% worse at infinite defense, so realistically, rapier is better for slashing. For stabbing, there is no comparison, rapier is 30% better at 0 defense and 50% better at infinite defense, which is huge.
