  1. Since it was too open-ended, lets try to close-end it a bit. Do you like combat? Yes - Versus monsters or other players (not advisable, but to each his own)? No - Do you like collecting or making things? At the end, you'd be doing one, several or all of these in RS - questing (involves all skills), minigames (involves all skills), monster hunting (slayer, bosses or just general camping), PVP (wilderness, staking, castlewar, etc), gathering (ores, logs, etc) and crafting (weapon, armor, jewelry, leather, etc). You have a fair deal of MMO experience. Which MMOs? Can I assume those MMOs dont have the sheer volume of tradeskills (non-combat) that RS has, and were more combat oriented? If so, maybe explore familiar grounds like monster hunting before going into skilling. Higher combat level is rarely a bad thing. The only must-have in RS I think is having the know-how and intuition to make money, money and mo' money. At least that's in my opinion...
  2. If the cash pile that went into untradables (~30m?) is a significant portion of your flipping funds (or just regular fund) and you have no better moneymaking option, then the huge stock of potions could be considered a waste due to diminished moneymaking potential. But if that reason doesnt apply, then it just makes more sense to plan for long-term and make untradables as soon as possible (stewing).
  3. This is why I love TIF people. So many is working hard to try and save somebody that is clearly doomed to being scammed in RS (and possible irl), and getting frustrated and feeling sorry for the guy. Proof of character.. ::clap:: OP: Please think, if truly at all possible for the hacker to do this, there are way way bigger fish for him to catch. 83% of people on this forum would make better targets than you.. (That 83% was for you, Barney Stinson/Neil Patrik Harris! Happy Birthday!)
  4. Since I'm like everyone else (not sharing flipped items), the best tip I could give you is to be patient when learning to flip. Try to flip items related to buyable skills that you are actively raising. It'll help you get the feel of it much faster since you are already buying stuff to level. This helps you in learning the market flow, price fluctuations, availability and trends. When I was raising herblore, I think i recovered around half my costs (rough estimate at 20mil) by flipping 2nds and vials (dont do herbs, it almost always crashes except for toadflax). Look for items that have steady prices, not ones that are consistently dropping or rising. If it always drops, you cant sell it. If it always rises, you cant buy it cheap/quick and higher risk of price crash. For me 1% profit is good enough per flip, 2%+ is a bonus. If 5%+, I'd switch to another item. It's tempting (and sometimes rewarding) to get rich quick with high profit items, but you might end up a victim of clan manipulations. The same concept could be applied to equipment loot from MH and slayer, just maybe not as easily. Oh and dont use all your cash pile on 1 item, unless you're a pro merch. But pro merchs would put in a few different items..
  5. And frosts are nowhere near 2m/hr PROFIT now...
  6. Havent seen a hood either, so I feel for you too. Necro-ing a 6 month thread to rant about SSH is proof that u hate night spiders...
  7. Not even a chaotic rapier/anything from that 82 dg? Take the above poster's advice, then go back to dg and get a chaotic rapier (replanting herbs in between of course)... :) Edit: Got beat by Nifflin. Just listen to him. The above poster was referring to Nyosuht.
  8. Is that figure profit or cash made? I've moved on to other moneymaker because frosts dropped to <1mil profit/hour for me...
  9. Just wanted to add another suggestion. Try to flip items related to buyable skills that you are actively raising. It'll help you get the feel of it much faster since you are already buying stuff to level. This helps you in learning the market flow, price fluctuations, availability and trends. When I was raising herblore, I think i recovered around half my costs (rough estimate at 20mil) by flipping 2nds and vials. 10. Regarding blue dragons, Kuradal's were faster for me cause it's empty. Since I was 2-3 hitting them (rapier + fero + piety + exts), I'd fill up inventory and tort within 1 dose super-antifire (~5 minutes). I just made sure I'm alone there, since I'd need 3-4 spawns (~1k worlds). Taverley is too packed. You might get lucky and have 2 spawn points to yourself though.
  11. One of each clean herb, grimy herb, seconds and unfinished potions, except torstol (too expensive). Would cost you about 100k and eat up like 30-40 spots. I seriously wonder how people can have >100 empty space and im struggling to free even 20.. :wall:
  12. I've been told to post on RSOF stickied thread to announce frost bots. I dont have the QFC right now. Maybe it works. I dunno. But I have run into that anti-bot team at frosts. Kinda nice to see a jmod nuking those bots. I dont know how many bots there were (was like 6 cannons in just the north area), but there was only 2 real players there. A nice split of north & south cave... :)
  13. I think you can, with current herb prices and if you have Scroll of Cleansing (~10% cost-saving).
  14. While using the spreadsheet, keep in mind that not all potions will be sold at GE price. Some sell for a LOT lower. But prayer pots were quite steady last week with ranarrs going at 2950-3050, snape at 245-255 and ppot (4) sold at 3200-3300. There was a while when price dropped below 3.2k, but I left it at 3.2k and it still sold out after a day. Last week, ppot (4) sold higher per dose than ppot (3). Might need to recheck now. With that said, do consider using a faster and more expensive alternative if the time saved can be recovered with your moneymaking potentials. This is an advice that I did not heed at the time, as I was depressed with the amount of botters at frost.
  15. I was in your situation a couple months back, so I know the feeling. Give it like a month and you'd settle right in. Checked your adventurer's log. You dont have that many quests left to complete, so might as well finish em all. Priority to Fairy Tale III. Using fairy rings w/o needing the staff makes moving around that much easier. If you don't have a goal, some suggestions: 85 slayer - whips are cheap now, but so what..it's a nice milestone. 91 crafting - 90 is a nice milestone, but with 91 you can get free 30kxp/day at daemonheim w117 assisting people with effigies. 82 dungeon - as above poster pointed out, until level 60, you'd probably hate the skill. But it's all worth it for the chaotic rapier, scrolls and necklace.
  16. Oh. I was looking at an old list. Ok, thanks for telling me.
  17. Only know whites are already over max cash now.
  18. I'm kinda shocked that mining is #5 rarest. Always figured mining, wc and fishing would be a close call. Kinda enlightening to have my skewed perspective corrected..
  19. Do quests that give herb xp? Eadgar Ruse and My Arm's Big Adventure give quite a bit of xp each.
  20. Congrats on AOW upgrade. Your guide was really great when I started keying floors 30+.
  21. Canon also has the added effect of killing them so fast that they wont even burrow...
  22. Well, this hiccup is only for my short term goal. I'd rather not spend too much on herblore now since I want ss/turm after this, and then yak. Maybe I could adjust my pot-making sequence to accommodate for like 3k spec restores on the way to overloads? (Already made 1k)
  23. Thanks for the tips. Guess I'll make only a bit. Maybe just 1k, so I'd end up with 750 (4 dose). Untradeable pots are killing my nice looking cash pile..and it cant be noted for decanting!!! :(
