  1. I am personally not a fan of the 5 second channeled abilities, sure, they do more damage per ability, but you also generate less adrenaline (quite a bit less) and I tend to try and get thresholds asap. I dont know which is actually better though, but I doubt Concentrated blast is better than instant basics
  2. As archer said, it is possible, and easy, to chain abilities back to back without pausing, so if you do end up waiting for an ability, you probably tripped up somewhere.
  3. Spam Abilities until threshold, especially if you are dual wielding. Auto attacks for me are extremely rare (and the fact that they generate 1/3 as much adrenaline as abilities). THere are more than enough basics in the game to chain abilities indefinitely.
  4. Hopping back and forth between games like a mad grasshopper: Hopping between: Saints Row the Third Torchlight 2 w/ mods Poker Night at the Inventory Poker Night 2 (don't ask why...) Borderlands 1 (waiting for BL2 GotY to come out) Unreal Tournament LA Noire And contemplating on getting Company of Heroes 1 and 2...
  5. In James bond, M is ranked higher than Q, therefore for i = James Bond, M > Q Suppose that i = k, k standing for an arbitrary movie, M > Q stands Then we need to prove that k+1, an arbitrary movie's sequel, M > Q However, the assumption that a k+1 exist is invalid, since most movies do not have a sequel. Therefore in case of movies, M > Q cannot be proven. But since you cannot prove the case for Movies, you cannot prove M > Q is true for all cases. therefore, M > Q cannot be proven.
  6. ^ that is why I now have 4 merchants, they don't ever come off my ships, ever.
  7. Completely off topic here, but has there been any study done whether the dw basic actually benefits overall dps? Channeled basics are quite bad at generating Adrenaline, last i have heard
  8. Meanwhile there is a Bandos godsword, or if you have access to EE, you can also consider EE with Vine Whip Yes, EE has been nerfed, but it is still a free t72 off hand, and vine whip is dirt cheap compared to what it once was. But I agree, work towards Claws if you can. The D claws pay for themselves basically since they are made at 100% durability rather than 20% for other chaotics.
  9. He is, but suppose you have difficulty doing ( or won't go do in some cases) ZGWD? If you have ovl, soul split and a unicorn/pack yak and all then I don't see why you wouldn't go to ZGWD for a greater demon task. But there are still a lot of slayers out there without it so Kril might be a little tough for them... Pffffttt I don't need all your fancy stuff to kill kril for a slay task puh lease Maybe not, but people like me with little experience or love for boss hunting my be deterred. Before I had 92 prayer Kril was a bit of a challenge because I didn't have enough healing to survive with just sharks and a unicorn/war tort. I admit I haven't been back since they changed Kril but I imagine in just t70 gear it might be a bit harder since he attack more frequently with all overhead prayers. And besides, not everyone is as competent at boss hunting. Many people will undoubtedly find it easy, but not everyone (I know for sure some will definitely struggle with it, some are even max capers). Having more tools to make life easier cannot hurt.
  10. ability accuracy, as far as we know, only comes from the main hand, off hand have no say in it.
  11. I settle for anything above 60%, but that is assuming one has life boats (which effectively makes your crew absolutely immortal, which pretty much eliminates the worst case scenario for a failure). I do have a rare situation where I don't go online often at all on weekdays, so I have opportunity to pick and choose. A few other things you should know about: 1. Randoms are important for the random rewards, especially life boats. Less crew death means less snowballing effect 2. Crew with Merchant effect (except maybe "Ardougne Storekeeper") can never be overestimated. 3. Extra ships are VERY important.
  12. The rumor wasn't a rumor, it was outdated information. Dual weapons , back when EoC was released (especially for ranged and magic), were indeed absolute rubbish when used with abilities. The reason being that all abilities only took main hand weapon into account, thus, with exception to Havoc and Decimation, all of the abilities dealt a third less damage compared to when using 2h weapons. But as lioness said, that was updated a while ago, all abilities, when used with dual wield, now also take off hand weapon damage into account, so, given identical circumstances and rotation, the two kinds are very close to each other now. If you are talking about the lack of damage on Chaotic crossbows, it's because for those, there was no need to 'normalise' its damage (unlike Royal Crossbow, which needs damage on the weapon to balance out).
  13. You have to equip them and then turn them on manually (unless they have changed that mechanism), you can also deactivate it at any time.
  14. 1. Yes, it will be good enough with your budget until they 'correct' Enhanced Excalibur. After which you will probably want to aim for an off hand Chaotic (preferrably Chaotic off hand claw), and use Maul in that time. You'd really want to aim for Drygores eventually. 2. Unfortunately, none of them are of any use now, except perhaps Dragon Claws. Dragon claws are used to make Chaotic Claws, so you can use the off hand part of the set to make a Chaotic off hand claw as stated in 1. With a 5m budget, some good weapon choices are: Ranged: Crystal Bow, Black Salamander, Hand Cannon. Hand cannon being the best, though it can occasionally explode, the cost of the weapon itself is a non-issue, and the ammo should rarely be used if you use Abilities. You'd want to aim for either Dual Chaotic X-bow or a Royal Crossbow. The latter if rather cheap, but only if you can manage QBD to phase 4 (in either case, use Royal bolts with the latter two crossbows) Magic: Polypore Staff or Staff of light are good weapons to use with abilities, wands/book combo is kind of out of reach for you. 3. Artisan Workshop is still the best way to level smithing exclusively. 4. You could try QBD if you have Super-Antifire potions, else, I think someone else may be able to suggest a better method, although a personal favourite of mine is Barrows, which not best money maker by any stretch, but I get by doing 13-14 runs an hour, which averages about 1m per hour, but I have access to Drakan's Medallion (teleport to barrows), finished Morytania hard tasks (half prayer drain and double rune drops) and have full void.
  15. Borderlands 1, picked up the GOTY for 7.50 back when it was on sale, gonna wait out on BL2 for GoTY.
  16. This is partially the reason why I NEVER use the sleep function, ever, on laptops. Too many problems, too little benefit.
  17. Despite the fact that they are completely useless and are actually detrimental to your progress in ports? You will need all 25 avaliable spaces to make the most of your voyages, having 20 crews for 20 crew spaces is exactly what Engineering teaches you not to do (lack of flexibility). With only 20 spaces, you will be at the mercy of RNG giving you voyages that you have no crew left for. Having 25 active and useful crews drastically reduces the chance of it happening. Not to mention that Merchants is EXTREMELY important, you never have less than 2 (Jade Merchants)
  18. Try Mr Maudout? (the dragon teacher) His office is literally right behind the main stairs to the ground floor in the basement.
  19. Sigfried definitely requires abilities, while Pest queen deals huge amount of damage if you don't use stun. Be prepared for a long grind at Dom tower though, while it is possible to do DT with momentum, Abilities drastically shorten the time required. (To the point where I think it's arguable to just bear your hatred with EoC than it is to put up with the increased time it takes to do DT)
  20. With magic you can do it with no prayer renewal and 0 food Besides I have seen people doing barrows with Maul, Maul doesn't beat Magic (at least with ABS), Drygores on the other hand, do. And, Claw/EE > Maul (until they nerf EE)
  21. several mil is my definition of 'not worth it' when you put in months to get the sets themselves.
  22. Do you always get above 10k in double stat missions? And for a triple stat mission you would want bowl traits right? The argument goes this way: Special voyages can never be Triple stat unless it's a story, but after that, Trios never appear for special voyages Normal Voyages, assuming everything else is equal, Trio stat is, at most, same chance of appearing as a single or a double (I THINK the actual chance is 1/7 per voyage). So under most circumstances, you will have Singles and doubles. +1% is superior for singles, very close to equal 100 stat for double, and decidedly less for Trio, hence, when you take those into account, 1% is generally more useful than +100 traits
  23. Currently sitting on 21 Chi, 76 Plate and 60 Lacquer (this is after I made sup sets), 236 Bones and 211 Spices (with about ~450-500 soups made). and only 54k Steel. I am thinking I am going to ditch the idea of getting uber crew and just aim for max resources now.
  24. Doesn't matter if it does or doesn't. If it does, it's too late now anyway. So just try transforming the fragments to an amulet with the tab in your inventory.
