There are far better ways to obtain onyx and get the mining xp from the bane ores in less time than the scrimshaw's time duration. That, and I seriously doubt you can actually count on getting onyx reliably per 3 hour scrim.

Momentum wise OH mace is strictly better because of the speed, but only if your off hand is also fastest, or else its going to hurt your dps.

The latter, at least it's good for something. When an unstoppable force meets an immovable object, would you rather be the force or object?

What Game(s) Did You Last Get and What Are You Playing?
chenw replied to runescapeloser22's topic in Off-Topic
FNV is much more open ended, and there is plenty of do, but I feel it is a little too cluttered. The witcher on the other hand, while being a lot more linear than FNV, so it's a bit less cluttery/branchy, but still tells a good story. -
If vampyrism sells for at least 1.33x as much as either elements or cruelty, then it might be wise to make a vampyrism, sell it then use the money to buy element/cruelty for personal use.

You can use obsidian cape if you dont have fire/kiln cape, despite it offering critical strikes in all 3 styles, it's classed as melee. Unless they nerf the accuracy of Drygore, drygore will always be at least 12.5% better than Chaotic (as that is assuming the worst case scenario of the extra accuracy does absolutely nothing).

Try and see if you can get Hand Cannon, it's better than Crystal bow for kiln (higher tier and the fact that nearly all ranged-weak creatures in kiln are weak to bolts, the Har-Aken magic tentacle being the only exception). I'd probably try armor switching too, though I have no idea how that will work out since It has been too long since I did kiln, and frankingly I never did kiln without obsidian armor. Soul Split is quite useful, and make sure you make good use of Restoration and constitution crystals.

Divination - one of the new skills reported by IGN
chenw replied to Kimberly's topic in General Discussion
Yes, but the last time I tried, i could only sell a handful of shards to NPC per mouse click, unless there was something i was missing? regardless, I wasn't disputing that shards was used as money condenser, but it isn't always 25 gp each with respect to its street value. -

Unfortunately no so true, while the NPCs buy unlimited shards (theoretically), the amount of time it takes to sell large quantities of it will lower its price to less than 25 each. Most people will just earn the money back in the time it takes to sell couple of million of shards. If they changed so you can sell any amount of shards to them in 1 go, then the statement will be true -
It really depends on how you did your ports at the start of PoP. I for one started gathering scrolls since very early (as in Arc region early), and had completed all armor scrolls before reaching pincers, although I ended up about a month behind everyone else because I could not sent enough voyages to catch up, so the Trade goods ended up being the bottleneck for me. I didn't complete my armor sets until very recently. If you had 5 or less completed scrolls before you reach pincers, then I'd imagine you'd be Scrolls limited, otherwise you'd probably be Trade good limited.

Locking that I don't agree with
chenw replied to Resistance's topic in Forum Updates and Suggestions
That is not 'proof', that is called circumstantial evidence. You are using that fact in order to fit your own theory while you have NO other proof to back it up. A 'proof' is something that you can show your statement is true beyond any reasonable doubt, but a few videos does not show the entire Jagex team, and therefore cannot constitute as 'proof'. (What you require to prove your case requires FAR beyond what you have). If like to pull the racism card, then I suggest looking up the difference between a 'proof' and 'circumstantial evidence', and especially 'jumping to conclusions' mean. Right now I cannot find any reason for that (or in fact, this) thread to exist, in any shape or form. This is irrespective of 'skeletons' in the closets (which, in case you were wondering, does not affect the mod's action). Putting it even more bluntly, if you have problems with the moderation team, take it up with them, or, putting it bluntly, leave. -
Most games are designed with that in mind, or do not require fine controls in order to play them. RS will be interesting, especially considering that most things may be smaller than your fingertip

This update completely and utterly destroyed obsidian armor. Which is ironic, in an effort to make obsidian armor more 'useful', they actually broke it to the point where even other T60 armor is better than Obsidian armor. Unless there are some behind the scenes things going on (which I am not surprised if there is, Hybrid armor is a PR disaster atm), hybrid armor, on their own (especially the "all" class armor, and yes, there seems to be a big difference between "All" and "hybrid" atm), is completely useless. Coupled with the stats nerf of back to T60, Obsidian armor is now both useless for the function it was originally designed for (IE best armor VS obsidian creatures), and useless function it was supposed to encourage its use (IE outside). TBH, I really don't think they should F around with Obsidian armor, that armor was designed for TzHaar creatures, so it should stay as the best armor in the game and useless elsewhere. It's not like Kiln is the hottest way to make money atm.

but 5/10 plate/scroll whaler and missionary scroll are the only good voyages where SF is more useful, vs. normal chi, 5/10 occultist chi, occultist scroll, convict lacquer, convict scroll (4 voyages SF vs 6 voyages moral I see your point, but I'd rather be a bit more resistant to RNG than being at the mercy of it, I had a few days before where I ran out of SF crew when I only had 4, and had to reroll great a many voyages because the game refused to give me any other voyages. Trade goods count only a minority of those voyages. I am aiming for capping out resources atm, since it's pretty much the only thing in port I can actually aim for.

What Game(s) Did You Last Get and What Are You Playing?
chenw replied to runescapeloser22's topic in Off-Topic
You would not believe the amount of people dissing fallout 3 on some fansites, despite the fact that it was very well received. They had plenty of derogatory names, but one thing I do agree with is that they called it Fallout 3, when NV, from point of view of the Plot, would have been more appropriate to be called FO3, and FO3 now should probably called Fallout: DC wasteland or the like. I do like the Pitt campaign though, it really got me into the "choose the lesser of two evils". -
It is ultimately up to a personal choice, the resources required for changing totems can be acquired in 2 days, or possibly even one, making regrets relatively painless compared to other possible regrets. I personally went for a very strange combination: 2 telescopes, 1 jade and 1 box (yes, Pandora's Box, I wanted to make sure I had the maximum chance of getting randoms, there were days where I didn't get any), and I was racing for scrolls more than trade goods. I now have 2 Jades, 1 Box and 1 Parrot. Don't ask
