Why would you use a shield that's not a rune defender when you're not hunting bosses? You should only use those superspecialawesome shields when boss hunting.

Maul is great in Bandos teams (because he dies so fast) and for tormented demons. Although I wouldn't get it if you don't PK unless TDs and Bandos are all the monster hunting you do.

Soul wars cape> Fire cape> skill cape Showing off is great but the +12 prayer from the Soul wars cape is too good to pass up. Fire cape only gives +2 prayer which is better than using a skill cape because it gives +4 strength, but I'd much rather get another 10 prayer than +4 strength. Prayer is used in every combat situation and soul split, turmoil and deflect prayers drain a lot :)
