  1. I remember reading a statement, it went along the lines of; Jagex does not leak things, if you see something, it was INTENTIONAL
  2. Yeah, i took a 2 month break after i sold my stuff and bought a santa, which was supposed to be a much longer break. Meh, came back after playing maplestory for 2 months and reminding me how crappy it is.
  3. Just letting you know, not everyone who reads tip.it times is a goodwilling player. This article possibly let hundreds of scammers know of a fairly easy scamming method :?
  4. Im just putting in my 2 cents, but think of it from a pker standpoint. Tons of people, NOT pures, rcing. They see free glories. If you dont like it, dont rc on 99, no one is forcing you to I by no means like it, but im putting up their argument because if they do it they will get flamed by you guys =-\
  5. If im forced to train it, ill use pest control, you dont even need to use dh/scimmy there.
  6. FF Online got number 3 Maple story isnt in the top 5 due to the fact this is a list of revenue, and since MS is free, and ONLY makes money from cash shop purchases with NX cash (yes i play MS) they wont make it that high in the list.
  7. "More than 10 million people will subscribe to MMOGs by 2011, and many millions more will play online games driven by other payment schemes, such as advertising and virtual purchases, the report predicted." - Direct quote from article Im guessing its worded funny, allow me to fix it how i see it worded. "More than 10 million more people will subscribe to MMOGs by 2011, and many millions more will play online games driven by other payment schemes, such as advertising and virtual purchases, the report predicted."
  8. From what my friends say, WoW isnt THAT much better. Most MMO's community is full of "noobs" and so on. Anyway, like i stated before, the reason that WoW is number one is due to REVENUE. They claim to have 8 million players. Yet RS has MUCH more, although through f2p and the fact that they compare us on a 3:1 player ratio. When I read that article, it said they expect there to be 10 million MMOG subscirbers by 2011 worldwide. I don't think that's right. I'm pretty sure I've read that Runescape has more players than WoW, multiple times. Now, when they say subscribers, maybe that doesn't count f2pers, but still, I doubt that's right. If there are 8 million of players playing WoW, I'd think there'd be at least 2 million total from all the other online games, such as Final Fantasy, EverQuest, Runescape, City of Heroes/Villians. Well, WoW Holds on to about 50% it said in the article of the market. Ill re read it, i basically scimmed the article my first time through, im sure its just a phrase taken out of context.
  9. you have to be 13+ to play runescape... Thats a fairly recent rule, I started at 11 years old =-\ it wasnt ALWAYS that way

  11. If rs is 5$ USD a month, and Wow is 15$ USD a month, that already makes it an unfair comparison, it takes 3 players (who pay) to match 1 player on wow who pays. Not to mention f2p, which has hundreds of thousands (if not millions) of players. In terms of revenue, it will take some time to beat wow if it can be done. But in terms of popularity, RS already beats WoW tbh :shame: :EDIT: To back that up, this was under the list of the top 5 "*determined by subscription revenue" Not by number of players.
  12. When crafting laws, if you craft at all, everyone has the same ability. When pcing, levels DO matter. world 78 is a prime example of this. It WAS the world where everyone went, so pures and mid level people flocked there by the hundreds and eventually weeded out the higher people.
  13. Ugh, i saw them yesterday when i started exploring that area and couldnt reach the  Now i have to slack off and get within agility pot range to get to them :D
  14. Fury for everything but pking/dking Beserker if meleeing at all Wealth if i want drops recoil if pking dueling if im exploring i rarely use lifes =-\
  15. Its a nice alternative for pures, since i belive that snakeskin boots need 30 def. Not entirely sure about the reqs for these though, but im sure its 1 def
  16. Hot rock cake from recipie for disaster if you ever plan on dharoking in your lifetime :?
  17. I love how people ALWAYS bring up the example that wkw brought up about the 120 who did not know where ardy was. For all you know, he could have BOUGHT the account with members on it and he was fresh from f2p. Now then on topic, once we find out what the boats are for then I will make my opinion up. For all we know this can ruin pest control and have all the "pc ruined rs" people cheering. Or it can speed it up and i can accomplish my goals in a much timelier manner without those bothersom pures.
  18. I'm not gonna lie. I'm torn between these two sides. On one hand, i want to help people and make others happy. On the other hand, if someone asks "Can i have 10k plz!!!!!!!!!" one more time, I'm gonna lose it. There's something to be said for the true effect of the kindness you're willing to give. To the common beggar, giving 10k doesn't really do much. You have merely provided them with the ends they were seeking. They're about as thankful and pleased with you as I am to the people of Miscillania every time I unload 10k flax (which is to say, not at all). It's when people are in a jam, and they truely need help, when being the flame is really important. For example, a level 80 dies and loses his brand new whip at hellhounds, and you pick it up, pm him, find him, and give it back. You know they worked forever to raise the money they needed to buy that thing, and they are CRUSHED when they die (this is how many people quit). By doing the right thing, and not keeping it, you will make this person's month, and they will truely be thankful for helping them out of a huge jam. In case you skimmed that last lengthy paragraph, my point is this: kindness goes a long way sometimes, and not so much others. If you hate beggars and value your sanity, help people out of tough spots, but don't encourage the lazy to continue to be lazy. You can't help everyone. The beggers never really get me annoyed. Its the people who become friends with you, and when they are in a bind, take full advantage of you and your assets. If a friend of mine died and lost something really expensive, I, as well as most people, would lend them the item if we had it untill they can get their own. Yet this encourages the lazy behavior, and what happens, they get careless and loose something else, and something else. This keeps on going until you ask for an/all item(s) back, and then poof, they get angry and log out and you loose everything. Now, ive given BACK items that i saw people loose to add up to over 50m, but i have also kept about 5m in items due to people being jerks.
  19. I actually LOVE your idea for the changing the area with magic. This could challenge people to get more involved, using the spells together killing monsters to get more xp, or kill with less food used. Honestly, if i could have your permission, i would like to make a suggestion on the RSOF. If you say yes, tell me if you want your name in it or not :D BUT What this can lead to, is group parties, group/guild/clan chat systems, and who knows what else.
  20. Ive quit helping people. After years of helping people more and more often im seeing a backlash of stupidity in rs. This just is NOT the community (in general) that we had in early RSC. While i still help people, they must prove to me they are not an inconsiderate jerk. The ammount of lurers, scammers, and hackers has gone up soo much, playing the way I always have is actually hindering me and my friends ability to play the game. Now im getting to the point where I just don't care about anyone who proves to me that they are idiots.
  21. If it can go in your house, then it has a use to me. Even though i dont plan on EVER cutting wood again unless its needed for a quest.
  22. Just saying, you get 1 slayer xp per hp the monster has. If you do anything but cannon, you get 1.33 hp xp per hp the monster has. So if you would cannon to 98 and almost 99 range, then go on melee/mageing, it is possible (and apparently has been done before) +1 to the fact that it is the hardest cape in the game to aquire
  23. Naw, if i die at dag kings, and have a friend at the gate, i can teleport to my house, run to the layer, get through the gate and all with energy pots fairly fast. Enough to get to rock lobsters by the time my non retrievables. Drakens castle is not only far from a teleport (closes is canfis) but its also an elaborate maze that still takes time. Honestly, if you would die at the farthest part, you would make it to about the first part of the maze when your stuff dissapears.
  24. This isnt a question of how far from a bank, more of far from a teleport point. In that case, drakens castle for sure, going from canfis to the northermost part of the castle takes like 20 minutes at the least.
  25. I suppose anyone who actually wcs will find this usefull. Only thing this does is let me get 230k for another anchor :D
