  1. Are you suggesting a DFS over bandos plate fro slayer? If so, I'm going to have disagree with that... The 3 or so strength increase from a defender to a DFS is worth a lot less than the 20 or so accuracy from a defender(someone feel free to add in the actual numbers). The less time that you spend using guthans the better. It is MUCH slower than a whip/ss, and you'll notice tasks going by much faster once you ween yourself off guthans if you used to use it a lot like me, but found alternatives.
  2. Armour for summons is kinda pointless. Most familiars have uber high def and HP. I've never had one die on me, although I came close with a Terrorbird against Spiritual Mages. I don't see how you've never had one die... I go through 2 spirit dags/task at mages. I always wondered why they had such pathetic magic defense...anyone know if wolpertingers or fire titans stand up better against magic attacks?(can't think of any other magic based familiars).
  3. Whatever it is, it is definately not the ranger(if that's what she is)'s familiar, because it would most likely be following from the other direction if it was, and since they are obviously in combat(health bars) the ebast thingy is either neutral or on the sword/staff guy's side. I think it looks like a roidified wolpertinger/rock.
  4. Guthans is definately a higher priority than bandos whether or not you have bunyips. Guthans also conveniently comes with the best plate for melee defense in the game(all 3 barrowsplates are the same).
  5. *cough* whip+DFS *cough* Need some robittussin? After you get better, go do a task with a DFS, and then kill the same number of non-dragons with a defender.
  6. I would say that blue dragons are more profitable, because the kills are a whole hell of a lot faster. I wouldn't put a visage drop in my considerations.

Oh wow that update has made sara stupidly easy...I guess that there will be yet another update in the enar future. No drops in 60ish kills meh...

Well that's interesting...thanks for the input, I'll go on a trip a bit later, then.
  9. I'm not sure exactly what you mean by "crashes," but nothing special happens to godswords when you die. They are treated just as other common items.

Can someone who's been to Sara frequently since they removed the boxing technique explain to me how you can kill efficiently without energy restoration as mentioned in this topic... http://forum.tip.it/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=763529 This... was said. The topic died, so I'll just figure out my other questions on my own, but this one statement caught my interest. It would be great if anyone could explain to me how that works out.
  11. Honestly, 1 peach/minute doesn't make much of a difference in how much you end up having to eat. I suggest that you take along a bunyip, and then take along some fighting familiar and see which you like better.
  12. At your defense level just go with full range boosting gear(keep the shield) you don't need armour. You will still need B2P tabs with bunyips, they just cut down on the number of times that you will need to eat(1 peach/minute less). Peaches heal 8 each, right?
  13. Oi i was going to go try random setups, but Sxq's comment caught my interest...
  14. Honestly with guthans you can stay there maging until you run out of casts as long as noone brings prime over on you, but I don't remember how many casts it takes/kill. You'd have to test that for yourself. Good luck and don't forget to recast charge.
  15. I think that it would take mroe effort to keep hunter under 24 than get it, in all honesty. That's what, an hour of experience? and I'm sure that tog would boost you over that pretty quickly... So is it worth sacrificing next to nothing? Yes, but that's true of most things.
  16. There's no excessive running required? I thought that the removal of boxing meant that you had to be constantly running... I'm betting that you have 99 prayer(I'm just a wee bit away from that) so I might need the extra 5 points to avoid needing extra restores. Also, I only have 86 range, so I seriously doubt that I could solo efficiently.
  17. No suggestions then? Well that's unfortunate. Oh well, I'll just try soem random things then.
  18. Rock crabs are rediculously strong against range attacks, and they're not very good for charms anyway.
  19. I'm not sure if you were emaning to hybrid or mage, but ether way your stats are pretty low mate :( Really you can mage at any level, but below at LEAST 80 magic you're just wasting your time. Your melee stats are ok to get by hybriding with a partner, but noone wants to go with low range people(even 86 is "low"). I'd suggest that you get at least 80 range. High prayer is not really required, but I personally don't like going with people under 70 prayer, mistakes/lag do happen occasionally... Again you didn't specify if you wanted to hybrid or mage, but I would suggest... Hybrid: 85 even melee stats, 80 range, and 70 prayer Mage: 80 magic, 85 defense, and 70 prayer If you've never been you shouldn't even really be considering soloing.
  20. I'm leaning towards no for you. I tried once with 90-90-90 stats(sgs instead of sgs) and finished with just 2 or 3 sharks left. I only went once though to see if I could, so I don't know if I had good or bad luck or whatever.
  21. Don't throw away your money bursting for charms... I've only used a total of 4000 casts in the dungeon(4 seperate trips, seems boring as hell to me), and those were more for magic xp. Use waterfiends, you'll be making a little profit that way.
  22. I have not been back to Sara since the update that removed boxing, so I guess that run energy would be a lot more important now. If I use terrorbirds and their scrolls with the intention of switching off to a unicorn once they are empty, I would need to take along sweets as well, right? Can someone give me a rough idea of how many scrolls and sweets I should take along? Or even how many brews. I'd be taking along a sgs, so I think that I could rely on the altar exclusively for prayer, and just have enough restores to cover the brews, but I don't think that I could use the no brew method on my laggy computer and with my lack of recent experience. Would 3 terrorbirds(1 initial, 1 just before entering the chamber, and 1 backup) be enough? or should I take along a second backup to extend my access to the tireless scrolls? Is the 12 range and 30+ melee defense increase from an obsidian shield to a DFS worth the price for exclusive use here? I honestly can't think of another time that I would use it. I was thinking of wearing... -v helm -black dhide top -v skirt -barrows gloves -snakeskin boots -zam stole -accumulator -500 diamond bolts -rune x bow -obby shield -ring of life -sgs(during kc) I'm sure that I forgot something...but whatever Any answers, suggestions, or helpful comments would be appreciated.
  23. Blow the whistle to make them attack immediately. My biggest problem with bunyips is that they are completely useless while your HP is full, compared to guthans which you can use at your discretion. Also, I wasn't aware that people still payed BOb to repair their armour, you'd save a LOT using your own or a friend's armour stand. That is, unless you have pathetically horrible smithing, but you probably won't after 70 defense.
  24. Obviously both, a sgs is just a glorified dds in regard to slayer.
  25. I preferr to use combat familiars for most multi combat tasks, so that fills the bunyip spot, but I use a sgs now, before I would use guthans.
